Kameron Abram, 20, And Jaylun Sanders, 23, Charged For Chicago's Mass Shooting In Downtown That Left 2 Dead And 7 Injured

Both Abram and Sanders were taken into custody Thursday night near the mass shooting at the Magnificent Mile shopping area.

Chicago, Illinois - On Saturday, Chicago police reported that Kameron Abram, 20, And Jaylun Sanders, 23, were charged in connection with last Thursday's, May 19, 2022 mass shooting in downtown Chicago, at a McDonald's Restaurant located in the 800 block of N. State Street near the Magnificent Mile shopping area.

Sanders was charged with 2 felony counts for 1st-degree murder, 7 felony counts for 1st-degree attempted murder, and one felony count for aggravated UUW/person/no FOID including issuance of a warrant. If convicted, Sanders is facing life in prison for several counts without the possibility of parole for each count of 1st-degree murder, and up to 80 years in prison for each 1st-degree attempted murder count.

Abram was charge with one felony count for unlawful aggravated use of a weapon/no FOID, and one citation for CTA trespass. If convicted, Abram is facing up to 3 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines.

The result of the mass shooting at McDonald's was triggered by an outdoor altercation between several groups and Antonio Wade, 30, suffered a gunshot to the chest and was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Anthony Allen, 31, suffered a lower back gunshot and was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. Seven other victims were injured with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Chicago police. Three victims, ages 17 (boy shot twice), 28 (man shot in the chest) and 36 (woman shot in the leg) were transported to a local hospital for treatment and four victims, ages 21 (man shot in the lower leg), 29 (man suffered a graze), 30 (man suffered graze wounds to the stomach and shoulder), and 31 (man suffered a hand wound), they showed up to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.
