Cardella died after being shot in the stomach, police continue to investigate the homicide.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Sunday around 4:39 a.m., Milwaukee police responded to the 2300 block of S. 12th Street near W. Lincoln Ave. in the Southside of Milwaukee where they located John Conway Clifford Cardella, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office ruled Cardella's death as a homicide.
Police have an ongoing homicide investigation. No suspect or suspects have been charged in the case.
