Milwaukee, WI - On Saturday, Zonia Lopez, the host of Nfoque Latino talk radio program confirmed that the program is no longer aired in La GranD 104.7 FM. Nfoque Latino was aired on Saturday mornings and addressed community issues, promoted businesses and non-profit organization services to the community at large.
Lopez when contacted on Saturday wouldn't comment about being off the air at La GranD or if she would continue her talk show programming at another radio station.
In early March, Lopez became the target of a wage dispute by Luis Rivera, a former Nfoque Latino account manager who claimed that Lopez owed him $600 for work done and wouldn't pay him. He sent out e-mails to more than 250 people in the community and posted disrespectful comments about Lopez on his Facebook (FB) account involving the wage dispute. Since then, Rivera recanted after the wage dispute was settled and his FB account was disabled. Rivera just wanted to get paid. He didn't say how much he was paid to settle and Lopez wouldn't confirm that she paid Rivera or deny it.
During the wage dispute on Rivera's FB, Mario Moreno Fuentes, a former Nfoque Latino associate alleged that Lopez still owed him at least $2,000.
In June 2013, Lopez left La Nueva Ritmo, WJTI 1460 AM radio where she began the program on March 2010 with H. Nelson Goodson, Patricia de la Torre and Mario Moreno Fuentes. In July 2013, Lopez went independent and began her program at La GranD claiming she wanted to reach a broader audience.
Lopez owns the Flylda Travel Agency since, September 2002.
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. made numerous attempts to get a comment from both La GranD and Rivera, but was unsuccessful.
