Austin, Texas - On Friday, Lizzie Velasquez, 25, announced in her Facebook (FB) fan page that she has started a documentary project about her life and struggle to overcoming bullying. "My ‪#‎secretproject‬ is revealed!!! IM MAKING A DOCUMENTARY!!! I'm even taking YOU along the ride with me!! ITS ALL HAPPENING!!!!," Velasquez posted on FB.
In 2007, Velasquez discovered a YouTube video posted by a bully who labeled her as the ugliest woman and after days went by she decided to stand up and expectedly became one of the most respected and well known motivational speakers against bullying. She overcame the bullying by grabbing the bull by the horns and turned all the negative comments into a positive national campaign against bullying.
She always wished to accomplish three things in her life time, graduate from college, be an author and become a motivational speaker. Velasquez accomplished all three and is now making the Lizzie Project, a self documentary about her life.
One of her YouTube speaking motivational video's "How Do You Define Yourself" received more than 5.6M views, which has been translated into multiple languages. She has appeared on national networks and now she is embarking on a self documentary about her inspiring life experiences that have changed her life. Millions of people have given testimony that Velasquez's motivational speech was instrumental in helping to changed their lives. She has gained admiration from millions, including children who see her as a positive role model against bullying.
