Vancouver, Canada - On Friday, Julie Valadez who sought asylum in Canada, her 15-year-old son Ethan Valadez who fled Wisconsin to escape from his abusive father and Kathryn Alamea-Xian, the Interim Executive Director of Protective Makua in Canada and Hawaii were forcibly detained by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) agents and police, according to sources. Apparently, the arrests were triggered over a CBSA email sent to Julie for an interview and Julie failed to attend. According to the source, Julie denied that she ever received an email from CBSA for a scheduled interview. Why did the CBSA sent out an email notice instead of a certified notice to attend an interview in order to confirm that Julie was made aware of a pending interview with the CBSA?

The CBSA has not released any information about Julie, Ethan and Alamea-Xian's arrest on Friday. Julie and Alamea-Xian began a hunger strike on late Friday in protest of the CBSA and police arrests.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) contacted the CBSA on Saturday via email to confirm the incarceration of Julie, Ethan and Alamea-Xian. The CBSA has not responded to the HNNUSA inquiry.

AccordIng to press release sent to HNNUSA, Julie Valdez is a refugee claimant in Canada after fleeing unjust persecution instigated by her domestic abuser and ex-husband Ricardo Valdez at the Waukesha County family divorce court in Waukesha, Wisconsin in the U.S.A.

Waukesha, WI in the U.S.A. is a Trump strong hold and support base for the January 6th 2021 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol.

Julie's undisputed abuser Ricardo Valdez was unlawfully awarded custody of her four children, despite Julie winning four appeals finding Ricardo's custody and attempts to incarcerate her illegal. In protest to this detainment, Kathryn Alamea-Xian, a LBGTQI activist using the pronouns they/them began a hunger strike at midnight on Friday. Both are refugee claimants for political asylum in Canada.

CBSA and police forcible took Julie's son Ethan Valadez age 15 from Julie's care after arresting her for failing to attend an interview of which CBSA claimed to have notify her by email, which she claimed that she never received. Neither Julie, Alamea-Xian and Ethan have been afforded any access to justice or an attorney in Canada.

Julie and Alamea-Xian have immigration court hearings on their refugee claims on Monday, April 24th 2023.

Ethan Valadez fled continuing abuse of his father and persecution by the Waukesha County court for simply reporting federal crimes and public corruption involving his father and court officials, judges and Guardian Ad Litem attorneys assigned to the Julie Valadez v. Ricardo Valadez divorce case in Waukesha County. Ethan is also a refugee claimant in Canada, according to a press release received by HNNUSA.

Ethan ran away on his own accord from his abusive father in January 10, 2023 and was identified as a missing person by the Walworth County Scanner.

Julie, Alamea-Xian and Kimberlee Coronado were all criminally charged in Walworth County in Wisconsin for interfering with the custody of a child including party to a crime for Ethan running away from his abusive father. Both Julie and Alamea-Xian were charged with a second criminal offense for interfering with a custody order including party to a crime in Walworth County.

Coronado remains in custody at the Walworth County Sheriff's Office jail since, March 2023 on a cash bond of $100,000 (must pay $100,000 cash bond) eventhough, the Walworth County accessment results say she is not a flight risk and has no criminal history.

Update: On Monday, April 24, 2023, a source confirmed that the facility personnel where Kathryn Alamea-Xian and Julie Valadez are being held at by the Canada Border Services Agency have forced Alamea-Xian to give up her hunger strike and are being threatened with criminal charges, if they continue with the hunger strike. Also, Ethan Valadez has threatened suicide after suffering a PTSD episode shortly after CBSA agents attempted to coerce him to return to Wisconsin indicating that he is not being afforded his rights in Canada at the age of 15 as legally required by law.

Ethan told CBSA agents that he doesn't want to return to Wisconsin and has requested to see and talk to his mother, Julie who is not being allowed to console her son.

The current actions by the CBSA in Canada against Kathryn, Julie and her son Ethan is an attempt to coerce them from taking legal action against the CBSA for illegal detention in Canada.

Kathryn and Julie will have a CBSA court hearing on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. to see whether they are released and afforded the legal rights as fleeing refugees that have applied for asylum in Canada.

No word, if Julie and Kathryn were allowed to speak with an attorney before the hearing, but as of Monday, both Julie and Kathryn were allowed to speak with each other to prepare for Tuesday's CBSA hearing.

• Kathryn Alamea-Xian released a statement to HNNUSA on Sunday, April 23, 2023 confirming that she, Julie Valadez and her son, Ethan Valadez were arrested by several Canada Border Services Agency agents and police without actually pressing any criminal offense, a warrant and so far, the CBSA can't explain why they actually arrested them other than Julie missing an interview that she wasn't aware off, since she wasn't contacted by CBSA.

Alamea-Xian alleged that Ricardo Valadez and his attorney lied in a court order that triggered the unlawful arrests of Julie, her son and Alamea-Xian.

Alamea-Xian says that she is considering filing a lawsuit against Ricardo, if he steps into Canada and most likely also he will face criminal charges for lying in a fabricated court order that was not signed by a Canadian judge.

Alamea-Xian also confirmed that she and Julie initiated a hunger strike after they were separated where they are being held. She also says, that Ethan is refusing to return to Wisconsin and he had obtained an attorney to fight his abusive father's attempt to return him to Wisconsin.
