Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, westbound traffic on W. Morgan Ave. from S. 6th Street was diverted just before 9:30 a.m. after a truck and a vehicle collided. The truck overturned on the street from the impact and the vehicle struck a railroad track overpass.

Police blocked off the area at the scene and details have not been released. It is not known, if anyone was seriously injured. The traffic accident reconstruction is pending, according to police.

Milwaukee Outlaws Celebrated 51st Anniversary At Local Club House

Milwaukee, WI - Last weekend, several hundred members of the American Outlaws Association (AOA) were in Milwaukee to celebrate their 51st Anniversary of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Outlaws. The Milwaukee Outlaws opened a club on July 4, 1964, according to the AOA.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) learned that the Southeastern Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center (SWTAC) sent out an alert bulletin to all state and local law enforcement agencies warning them of a possible threat and a world-wide meeting to discuss business with other motorcycle club affiliates in Milwaukee and in Eagle, Wisconsin. The entire movement of the Outlaws and their affiliates is being monitored by the feds and local law enforcement agencies.

The fed bulletin also warned that members of the Outlaws carry small radio frequency jammers that can keep law enforcement and police handheld radios from sending information or calling for backup. It warned officers that some Outlaws carry handguns, other weapons and could use motorcycle handlebar tassels as a weapon that could be easily removed and used against a unsuspecting officer during a traffic stop. The police alert says, that the Outlaws carry hidden body cameras to record interactions with police and could have access to attorneys ready to help them provide legal defense against any law enforcement officer that stops them for a traffic violation or any criminal activity.

German Fest and police confirmed that members of the Outlaws attempted to enter the Summerfest event while openly armed with handguns and knifes, but were not allowed. The Outlaws left German Fest without incident, according to the SWTAC bulletin.

No major incidents involving the Outlaws was reported by local police or the feds.

In a recent incident on July 24 involving the Virginia State Police (VSP), a sealed search warrant was executed at the Wicked Few Charity Brotherhood (WFCB) motorcycle clubhouse in Virginia. The VSP after two hours confiscated items, logo vests and a club banner. When a member of the WFCB approached the officers requesting the see the search warrant, police SWAT officers from an armored vehicle aimed their weapons at the member and refused to show him the search warrant, which is unconstitutional since the VSP confiscated items, but made no arrests.

The WSCB is taking legal action against the VSP.

On May 17, the Waco Police Department in Texas had intelligence that the Cossacks M.C. were planning to initiate a brawl with the Bandidos M.C. during a scheduled meeting for the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents (TCOC). The Cossacks picked a fight with several members of the Bandidos in the Twin Peaks Restaurant parking lot and one biker affiliated with the Bandidos was shot in the shoulder and survived. Waco police responded quickly and fired their automatic weapons at the bikers killing nine of them including a Medal of Honor Veteran. Police first admitted that all of the bikers involved in the brawl and 179 arrested were criminals, but most had no criminal records. The bikers were all frivolously charged with organized crime to commit murder and a bond of $1M cash was set for all of those arrested. After three to four weeks, the bonds were reduced and many of the bikers lost their jobs and motorcycles were forfeited.

Video surveillance recorded in the parking lots of the Don Carlos and Twin Peaks Restaurants were confiscated and sealed by Waco police and the McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna to cover-up the police massacre of bikers. At least 17 bikers were also injured by police gunfire.

A federal civil rights lawsuit has been filed against the Waco Police Department, the McLennan County District Attorney's Office by one of the defendants. The TCOC confirmed on Sunday, that they will file a class action lawsuit as well on behave of its members who were falsely arrested on May 17 by Waco police.

Several corrupt U.S. Attorneys in California are facing a legal challenge from the Mongols M.C. after they attempted to confiscate the Mongols trademark club logo. The feds argued that the Mongols have used their club logo to commit crimes or illegal activity. The feds are expected to lose their case because the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to association and free speech, according to the Mongols attorneys. 

If the feds succeed, then the Bandidos, Outlaws, Hells Angels, Pagans, Sons of Silence, Warlocks, Highwaymen, Free Souls, Vagos and other motorcycle biker clubs will also be targeted by the feds to confiscate their club vest logos for alleged criminal activity.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is well aware that the Waco police and the McLennan County District Attorney's Office used frivolous charges against most of the Waco bikers that were arrested in May, but the DOJ has not launched any investigation targeting the alleged corruption by Waco police and McLennan County D.A. Reyna.

On August 3rd thru the 9th, Sturgis Bike Week will be taking place in South Dakota and thousands of bikers are expected to attend the motorcycle rally, including the feds.

UMOS Celebrated Its 50th Anniversary For Providing Services To Thousands Of Migrant Workers

Milwaukee, WI - On July 25, the United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS), a non-profit organization celebrated their 50th Anniversary in providing services to the migrant farmer worker community in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri and Texas. Lupe Martínez, the UMOS President and CEO was recognized for his 46 years of work dedication with the organization that employs hundreds of people and provides services to migrant workers in the state including other social programs, training, child development and a workforce development center that serves approximately 3K W-2's job seekers as well as the Latina Resource Center for domestic abuse victims.

UMOS also holds their annual awards banquet to honor community recipients for Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Family of the Year and Youth of the Year awards.

The main guest featured speaker at the UMOS 50th Anniversary was Arturo S. Rodríguez, President of the United Farm Workers organization from California. The sold put event took place at the Potawatomi Casino and Hotel in Milwaukee.

According to the UMOS website, UMOS, is a "non-profit advocacy organization, provides programs and services which improve the employment, educational, health and housing opportunities of under-served populations. UMOS began as a single-focused, single state, migrant and seasonal farm worker serving agency only. Today, UMOS offers diverse programs and services to diverse populations with a diverse staff. Currently, UMOS operates 40+ programs with more than $25 million grant and performance-based contracts from federal, state, and local funding sources.

Programs and services provided by UMOS are divided into three major categories: workforce development, child development, and social services, which include farm labor housing, Teen Tobacco Prevention, HIV prevention services, domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking supportive services, home energy assistance, food pantry and after school programs . In addition to these programs, UMOS sponsors and organizes a number of cultural and community events in Wisconsin.The UMOS corporate offices are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. UMOS programs operate throughout the state of Wisconsin, as well as in Minnesota Missouri, and Texas, along with a housing consortium in an eight-state area."

Anderson, Sánchez and Salas later became instrumental in the takeover of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor's Office on August 27, 1970 to seek higher education for Latinos. At the time, there were only 14 Latino students enrolled at UWM compared to 25,000 White students. A discrimination policy was the norm at UWM that kept Latinos from enrolling. After the protest at UWM, Latinos were allowed to enroll, which opened the door to higher education for Latinos, Blacks, Asians and Native Americans.

Two Male Suspects Arrested For A Milwaukee Southside Homicide

Two suspects fled on foot from the crime scene and were later taken into custody.

Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee police arrested 2 suspects, ages 17 and 18 in connection with the fatal shooting of Montravis D. Johnson, 21, a Afro-American in front of his mother around 7:00 p.m. at the 2100 block of W. Greenfield Ave. on Wednesday night. Several officers were nearby when they heard the gunfire and saw two suspects flee eastbound on Greenfield Ave. After a short foot pursuit, they arrested the suspects and recovered the alleged murder weapon.

Johnson and his mother were headed to a corner store when the suspects confronted them and an altercation ignited ending with the victim getting killed.

Raymond Tensing, University of Cincinnati Cop Indicted For Samuel Dubose's Murder

Cincinnati, Ohio - On Wednesday, Raymond Tensing, 25, a University of Cincinnati (UC) Police Officer was indicted for one felony count of murder and one felony count for voluntary manslaughter in the cold blooded homicide of Samuel DuBose, 43, on July 19. Tensing turned himself to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office just after 2:00 p.m. and was processed. 

The Hamilton County Coroner ruled DuBose's death as a homicide.

Tensing stopped DuBose about a mile from the university campus for simply not having a front license plate tag.

Tensing was wearing a body camera when he questioned DuBose and asked him for his license, which he didn't have it at the time. DuBose told Tensing to look up the registration. Then, Tensing got mad and tried to open the vehicle door as DuBose tries to close it and the officer pulls his gun and within a second fatally shot DuBose in the head. Tensing at first claimed that DuBose dragged him with his vehicle and his life was in danger, but the video shows that DuBose's vehicle slowly rolls after being shot in the head.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters in a press conference on Wednesday stated that, "This was an asinine act which did not have to occur.  There was no reason for this.  And now, Tensing will face a murder charge."

According to the criminal indictment, "Tensing was working as a UC police officer on July 19thwhen he stopped Samuel Dubose's 1998 Honda Accord for not displaying a front license plate.  Officer Tensing asked Mr. Dubose to produce his driver's license which he did not do.  The officer also asked him to unbuckle his seat belt.  Tensing tried to open the car door as Mr. Dubose was trying to close the door.  As Mr. Dubose was closing the car door, he was also turning the ignition back on.  The officer reached in the car and it appears on the body camera video that the officer draws his gun and fires a single shot to Mr. Dubose's head as the car starts to move."

Update: UC Officer Raymond Tensing was arraigned for the murder of Samuel DeBose and pleaded not guilty in court and a $1M bond was set by Hamilton County Judge Megan E. Shanahan.

Alfonso Paura Martinez Jr. Gets 50 Years In Mental Heath Institution After Found Not Guilty For Double Homicide

Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, Milwaukee County Court Judge Stephanie Rothstein found Alfonso Paura Martinez Jr., 26, not guilty for reason of mental disease or defect for a double homicide in November 2014. Paura Martinez Jr. was ordered committed to the Department of Health Services to spend the next 50 years in a mental health institution instead of prison. Judge Rothstein found that the defendant is a danger to himself and the public, which most likely spend the rest of his life in a mental health treatment facility.

The "Court further found the involuntary administration of psychotropic medications is needed because the defendant is substantially incapable of applying an understanding of the advantages, disadvantages and alternatives to his mental illness," according to Milwaukee County Court records.

On December 1, 2014, police discovered the bodies of Alfonso "Poncho" Paura Martínez, 55, and Paura Martínez Jr.'s uncle, Manuel Paura Martínez, 58, at a Milwaukee North side home. Paura Martínez Jr. who is Poncho's son was taken into custody after wielding a knife at several police officers where the bodies were found inside the home. 

Paura Martínez Jr. was charged with two felony counts for attempted first-degree homicide.

Former Milwaukee Candidate For Alderman Michael Lutz Dies Of Apparent Suicide

A SWAT team confronted Lutz at his Menomonee Falls residence on Sunday, then he took his own life, according to the Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office.

Menomonee Falls, WI - On Sunday, practicing attorney Michael W. Lutz, 44, a retired Milwaukee Police Department officer and a candidate for Milwaukee Alderman in the 19th District apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound just after 4:00 a.m. while facing a SWAT team at his residence in the 12300 block of W. Mill Road. 

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Lutz didn't survive the July 21st Primary Election, he got fourth place.

Lutz retired shortly after getting injured in the arm as a police officer in a special unit while he and his partner rushed into a Southside building after a drug dealer, Tony Payano then 23 on October 2005. Lutz was criticized for not waiting for backup and was later hailed a hero for his injuries by Mayor Tom Barrett at the time.

Payano was convicted for shooting at Lutz and was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison.

Shortly afterwards, it was learned that a citizen complaint was filed against Officer Lutz with the Fire and Police Commission prior to the shooting incident. The complaint accused then Officer Lutz of intimidating a witness. The Milwaukee Police Department conducted an internal investigation about Lutz intimidating a citizen after he filed a citizen's complaint against Lutz.
Apparently, Lutz and another officer stopped the complaining witness in the Southside after learning he was the target of a filed citizen complaint with the Fire and Police Commission. 

Lutz made the mistake of signing the citation given to the complaining witness at the time of the initial stop, confirming that Lutz had actually intimidated him. Intimidating a witness or complaining witness is a felony in Wisconsin. Lutz was never charged with a felony, but didn't returned to police duty and retired.

Garfield, Texas - On Sunday, the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents (COC&I) met in Region 1 and raised at least $4,816 including a $560 check from the Brick House Bike Night, according to a video of a biker meeting that took place to discuss the May 17 Waco biker massacre by cops and it's victims. The money in donations is being raised for the Waco biker victims who were wrongfully arrested and charged for organized crime. Many of the bikers have lost their jobs or have fallen into economic despair including their families for the wrongful arrests and $1M dollar bonds that kept about 177 bikers locked up for weeks. When in fact, most of the bikers were actually attending a COC&I bi-monthly scheduled meeting at the Twin Peaks Restaurant and were arrested by police after a small fight escalated from several shots being fired by the Cossacks M.C. members that struck at least one biker, he survived. Police, mostly rookies with automatic weapons who had the COC&I under surveillance quickly responded when the biker brawl broke out and allegedly managed to kill at least nine bikers that included a member of the Bandidos M.C.

The COC&I Chairman, Jimmy Graves, aka, "Gimme" called upon all the biker clubs and independent groups to stand up and fight for their rights and declared action against the corrupt Waco cops and the McLennan County District Attorney's Office for filing frivolous organized crime charges and $1M dollar bonds for most bikers who were attending a meeting in Waco. Graves says, that he will fight the Waco corruption with a bible in one hand and a copy of the U.S. Constitution in the other hand and called for bikers to join him in an equal rights war against corrupt public officials in Waco.

Graves said, that the COC&I has a budget of $160K, which $45K has been spent for the legal defense for members, including $60K collected in Texas for the Waco biker victims and their families. The money raised on Sunday will also go for bikers and their families that were arrested and are now facing economic despair for losing their jobs or livelihoods while they were held for weeks on a $1M dollar bond. At least 177 bikers and women were wrongfully arrested and charged.

Graves confirmed on Sunday, COC&I members that were arrested in Waco on May 17 will be included in a class action lawsuit to be filed against the Waco Police Department, Waco City officials and McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna and others involved in the massacre of nine bikers and Waco Police Detective Manuel Chavez for filing frivolous charges against the bikers.

Graves blames Waco police for the escalated gunfire at the Twin Peaks and says, police knew that the Cossacks were going to initiate a fight with members of the Bandidos and police didn't take steps to prevent it other than to massacre fellow bikers.

Waco police and the McLennan County District Attorney's Office have seal several surveillance videos from the Twin Peaks and Don Carlos Restaurants showing the actual biker massacre by Waco police and Texas Rangers involved. Authorities don't want the videos exposed to the media and public because of damaging evidence against all the law enforcement officers involved.

The COC&I is now watching the U.S. v. Mongols M.C. case where several corrupt U.S attorney's in California are attempting to declare that the Mongols colors or patch, the Motorcycle Club logo (registered trademark) should be confiscated to prevent members from wearing it as their right for association and free speech by declaring the M.C. is a criminal enterprised and members use the colors to commit crimes.

The corrupt feds are expected to lose the case, but if they succeed, then the Bandidos, Outlaws, Hells Angels, Pagans, Sons of Silence, Warlocks, Highwaymen, Free Souls, Vagos and other motorcycle biker clubs will also be targeted by the feds to confiscate their club vest logos for alleged criminal activity.

UFO's Sighted Over Lake Michigan Several Hours After Milwaukee Air Show Ended

Several people posted videos indicated that UFO's were spotted over Lake Michigan two hours after the air show ended.

Milwaukee, WI - On Saturday, several people posted videos from different angles indicating a strong possibility and sighting of UFO's two hours after a lakefront air show ended at dusk. The videos were posted on Facebook (FB) and they say it is not photoshop.

A video posted by Gustavo Rojas was taken around 8:40 p.m. at the 1900 block of W. National Ave facing the Milwaukee Lakefront at Lake Michigan. The other alleged UFO video was posted by Almestica Thangz and was recorded from the Alverno College basketball court area.
Other videos began to pop up on FB in the Milwaukee area, some people could heard in a panic mode, children baffled, others prayed and some believed it was an actual alien invasion.

The Milwaukee Air and Water Show featuring the Thunderbirds took place earlier and six Thunderbirds closed the show on Saturday. The air show will continue at the lakefront on Sunday.

Update: TMJ 4 News reported that what fell from the sky on Saturday night continues to be a mystery. Air show and German Fest officials can't confirm what it was, but German Fest officials said, that professional parachuters were clearly visible at the time they jumped from a plane. Lafayette, Louisiana - On Friday, Lafayette police identified the shooter that killed 2 people, Mayci Breaux, 21, of Franklin, LA and Jillian Johnson, 33, of Lafayette, LA and who injured 9 at the Grand 16 Theatre as John Russell "Rusty" Houser, 59, of Phenix, Alabama. Houser was among 25 people who bought tickets to watch the comedy movie "Trainwreck" around 7:30 p.m. ET and 25 minutes into movie he stood up and began to shoot people at random. At least 13 shots were fired. 

Houser then exited the movie theater and went back inside where he then committed suicide with a self-inflicted wound, according to police.

Houser was treated for mental issues in 2008 and 2009.

Gun free zones around the country have become massacre zones for domestic terrorists and crazed killers with mental issues.

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, police responded to the 1500 block of W. Arthur Ave. just after 11:30 p.m. after shots were heard in the vicinity. More than 26 shots were fired striking a white building on the Westsouth side corner and a red parked van behind the building.

Police have not confirmed, if anyone was hurt and are investigating the crime scene. No other details were provided by police.
A shotspotter in the area helped police locate where the gunfire happened.
Milwaukee police have reported 10 Southside armed robberies between July 12 - 22 from 3:39 a.m. to 6 a.m. and 1 vehicle stolen.

Newly Elect LULAC National President Roger C. Rocha Jr. Haunted By DWI Conviction

Washington, D.C. - The Newly elected National LULAC President Roger C. Rocha Jr., 45, is now facing criticism by LULAC members for his 2005 Texas DWI misdemeanor conviction in Bexar County. Rocha was sentenced to six months in jail, 60 hours of community service and one year probation. His Bexar County case was transferred to Webb County to serve his time and probation.

LULAC members began to circulate Rocha's conviction mugshot and documented open records file from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Some members have raised question's about Rocha's "good moral character" to be their National President, but the National LULAC Constitution doesn't disqualify any LULAC good standing member for having a prior conviction from running or becoming National LULAC President or a Board member. The LULAC National Constitution only refers that a member seeking higher office within the the non-profit organization must have "good moral character" (Article VIII, Sec. 4 (c)). 

According to the Bexar County Texas DWI conviction, Rocha's attorney was Luis Roberto Verá Jr. who was the election judge last year at the 85th National LULAC Convention that decided along with former termed-out National LULAC President Margaret Moran to cancel the elections because Rocha who was running for president in 2014 might not win. It was the first time, that a LULAC National Convention was ever canceled in 85 years. Verá argued that the elections were canceled because of a filed TRO in New York.

Verá was also the election judge at the Salt Lake City 86th National LULAC Convention as well. Verá should have recused himself for conflict of interest from the election, since Rocha was running again. Rocha, Verá and Moran have very close working ties.

Rocha received 385 votes and Magdalena "Maggie" Rivera from Illinois received 160 votes. Rivera was elected President by the membership in NY, but Moran, Verá and Brent Wilkes, the executive director of National LULAC failed to recognize her election to office. Two lawsuits were filed in Texas and New York pertaining to last year's elections.

Another election mishap, New Mexico State Representative Patricia Roybal Caballero was elected LULAC National Treasurer, despite being prohibited from doing so. According to LULAC's Constitution Article VIII, Sec. 4 (f) Roybal Caballero could "not hold an elective or appointive political office at the time of his or her election or appointment or at any time during their tenure of LULAC Office." Then why was Roybal Caballero included as a candidate for National LULAC Treasurer's position? Rocha's supporters are saying, Roybal Caballero is not getting paid as a NM state Representative, but she is an elected political official and that should automatically disqualify her from becoming a LULAC National Treasurer. 

According to the Voice of the Mainland blog, "Paloma Zuleta, a spokeswoman for the Washington, D.C.-based LULAC, said Caballero's pension and per diems don't count. "Our lead council has reviewed her case and said it was fit for her to run for the position," Zuleta said. Caballero also previously served as LULAC's national parliamentarian despite objections.
The newly elected National LULAC Vice President Gabriel Y. Rosales was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled sustance in 1996, according to Texas court records. Verá was Rosales attorney at the time. The Rosales case was later dismissed by request of the Bexar County District Attorney's Office.
The usual top National LULAC Executive and Board members known as the power shakers and brokers are accused of not having any professional ethics by its own membership. One thing is constant according to members, the leadership at the national level does manipulate and interpret the LULAC Constitution and Bylaws for their own personal benefit and convenience when needed to control their membership, councils and especially funds.

Police Investigating Lion Sighting, But Distributed Cougar Photos

Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, police began to distribute a photo of a cougar near the 200 to 3500 block of Garfield Ave. in the North side neighborhood after reports of a lion sighting, according to Nene Coldd Facebook postings. Police with weapons investigated a property where the cougar apparently climbed a tree.

Police are looking into reports that the owner of the cougar lives around N. 35 and Garfield Ave. and that the cougar escaped from a cage. It is not known, if the cougar was kept in captivity legally.

Police on Tuesday released the following press release, "Milwaukee Police received a call around 4:10 p.m. on July 20 from a person who saw what she believed was a lion in the 200 block of E. Garfield Avenue. Officers checked the neighborhood for several hours but have received no further reports from anyone seeing a loose animal. Officers contacted the Department of Natural Resources, which advised that anyone seeing a wild cat should call authorities and not try to capture it."

Township of Joliet, IL - On Sunday, a brawl involving both men and women broke out at the Heradura de Joliet Sports & Stadium, 18225 Briggs St. at the unicorporated Township of Joliet during the performance of Narco Ballad singer Gérardo Ortiz. A Facebook video posted by El Terrible y La Kristy, a Spanish language radio show aired at La LEY 107.9 FM radio, which has been circulating on social media showing both men and women involved in a beer tossing, fist and hair grabbing fight. Security at the event immediately responded and are seen trying to break up the fight. Punches, beer and rocks are thrown around during the brawl.

The Will County Sheriff's Department when contacted did not respond to an inquiry about the Heradura de Joliet Township Sunday brawl.

Milwaukee Police Department Becomes Target For Planned August Anti-auto Theft Protest

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) learned that the City of Milwaukee will face a anti-auto theft protest on the third Wednesday in August targeted at the Milwaukee Police Department due to a rise of auto thefts. One of the planning organizers of the anti-auto theft protest in her Facebook (FB) accounts says, it will be a peaceful protest. If the protest takes place, it will be the first of its kind in the City of Milwaukee or Wisconsin.

Stephanie Couillard shared her comment with "Stolen Cars Milwaukee" FB page explaining why she is helping to organise the anti-auto theft protest, "To gather awareness on the alarming numbers of auto thefts and the call to have our police force make serious efforts towards dismantling these theft rings. My hope is that perhaps we can also get policy change so that it is mandatory for parking checkers to run plates before ticketing and towing our stolen vehicles. I am going to consult with an attorney to find out the legalities. I also think they laws must change for minors, whether it be holding parents accountable for damages, or mandatory community service/juvenile detentions for the perps..."

Milwaukee police have recently arrested a group of teens involved in carjackings and West Milwaukee Police on Sunday arrested three teens including one who was shot by an officer at the 4300 block of W. Greenfield Ave. So far, local police have detained at least seven teens in separate cases involving attempted carjackings and purse snackings in Milwaukee County.

The Milwaukee Police Department under Police Chief Edward Flynn has been criticized for a policy that prohibits officers from chasing suspects in autos that officers can't prove that have committed a crime, even though they flee the scene from a police traffic stop. Chief Flynn says, it is a public safety issue that prevents anyone from getting hurt during a police chase pursuit.

Alderman Bob Donovan who is running for Milwaukee Mayor wants Chief Flynn to change his non-pursuit policy and begin to chase and catch suspects.

Deported Veteran Alfredo Varón Guzmán Passed Away Struggling To Get VA Benefits

Varón Guzmán just before he died received a humanitarian Visa to return to the U.S. and get medical treatment for a terminal illness, but as usual for the VA, it was to late for the deported Veteran.

Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico - On Saturday, the Deported Veteran Support House (DVSH) in Tijuana reported that Alfredo Varón Guzmán, a deported former U.S. Army Veteran had passed away shortly after receiving a humanitarian Visa to return to the U.S. for medical treatment of a terminal illness that claimed his life. Varón Guzmán, originally from Baranquilla, Colombia was deported in 2000 after a 1988 check forgery conviction, which he plead guilty. Ten years later in New York, the case came up again to haunt him after a security check of his business to continue with a government contract. When he went to resolved his immigration status, he learned that his 1988 forgery check conviction qualified him for deportation and he challenged the immigration case that took five years to fight. He missed an immigration court date when he was hospitalized for hermatora. An immigration judge ordered Varón Guzmán deported to Colombia.

Varón Guzmán was one of the numerous Veterans that have been deported by the U.S. and their medical benefits denied by the Veterans Affairs (VA). 

Only upon death, a deported Veteran can return to the U.S. and can be buried at the National Cemetery with full honors.

Varón Guzmán's family say that he died peacefully in the U.S., a wish that Varón Guzmán had always wanted to do.

Hector Barajas, the Director and Founder of the DVSH reported that he was sent papers to apply for a medical exam leading to earned medical benefits and service connected pension from the VA and had been instructed to go to a local U.S. Consulate in Tijuana to submit them. When Barajas, a deported Veteran himself went to the U.S. Consulate on July 15, security wouldn't admit him or have him talk to any Consulate personnel to take his VA documents. Apparently, the VA had notified Barajas that they would contact the U.S Consulate in Tijuana so, they could process his VA medical exam documents, which he has 60 days to submit. But it seems that negligence or a lack of communication between the VA and the U.S. Consulate in Mexico has delayed any possible medical benefits to Barajas.

Varón Guzmán is one of five deported U.S. Veterans that have recently passed away who were denied their earned VA medical benefits for years.

The following deceased deported Veterans have suffered the fatal consequences from the Obama and VA administrations gross negligence in denying them medical treatment and benefits as afforded by the U.S. Congress.

On June 18, 2015, José Solorio, a former Marine Veteran who served between 1979 to 1986 in the military and then deported in 2001 after serving 10-year in a federal prison for a drug conviction passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Solorio was honorably discharged from the military and had earned Veteran Administration (VA) medical benefits, but those benefits were denied simply because he was deported and only if he would return and apply in person for those benefits would be restored.
For years Solorio attempted to apply for those benefits and was unsuccessful until he joined the DVSH in Rosarito. He received a humanitarian Visa to return to the U.S., but his condition deteriorated and died.

On April 14, 2015, former Army Veteran Juan José Montemayor passed away after a long illness without VA medical benefits and was cremated on May 17. His ashes were returned to Wisconsin in the U.S. Only upon death, a deported Veteran can return with full military honors and a head marker and burial plot is provided at a military cemetery.

On March 10, 2015, Gonzalo Chaidez, 64, a deported U.S. Army Veteran passed away in Tijuana. Chaidez suffered from Tuberculosis and as a deported U.S. Veteran, he was not allowed to use his earned benefits or seek treatment at any VA hospital. Under deportation, all Veterans are illegally stripped from their earned benefits under the last three presidential administrations, including President Obama's administration.

In April 21, 2014, Hector Barrios, 70, a deported U.S. Army Sergeant Veteran died in Tijuana from a heart stroke and was a house resident at the DVSH too. Barrios attempted to collect earned VA benefits for years, but was unsuccessful and died in poverty because he couldn't return to the U.S. to apply for medical care.

Milwaukee, WI - On Saturday, Karina Sánchez Martin, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico was selected as Miss Mexican Fiesta Ambassador 2015, according to the Hispanic Wisconsin Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (HWSF). HWSF sponsors the three-day Mexican Fiesta at the lakefront Summerfest grounds in late August.

Last year, the HWSF changed its discriminatory policy along with the National LULAC after awarding more than $2.5M in scholarships to only U.S. and legal permanent student residents. Bed Bugs Reported At The Chula Vista Resort In Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells - On Thursday, Katie Madaus of New Berlin posted on her Facebook (FB) account that she had a bad case of bed bug biting while she stayed as a guest with a group of girls that attended a dance camp at the Chula Vista Resort on July 13. Madaus had an allergic reaction to the bed bugs bites and had to seek medical treatment.

Once the hotel management learned of the bed bug infestation, she and others were moved to another room. She posted multiple photos and said that her roommate, Katie Campbell Gatlin suffered bed bugs bites too, but did not have an allergic reaction as she did. Both Madaus and Gatlin are Varsity Dance Team Coaches.

Gatlin posted in her FB account that the Sauk County Health Department inspected room 2449 at the Chula Vista Resort and had confirm that there was a bed bug infestation and Pest Control treated the room.

Clarissa MaRae Shaw who attended the dance camp too wrote on her FB that "Chula Vista posted "share your story" so I posted the picture of some of my 98 bed bug bites and "told my story". They apparently didn't like it since they deleted it immediately and blocked me from writing a review. But I'll just leave it here: 

"This place is disgusting. Dried blood on the pillows and left with 98 bed bug bites. We were treated poorly by management when we brought it to their attention and they went from originally admitting it was bed bugs, to saying they didn't have them a few days later, to not returning any of my calls. Don't waste your money and don't risk it! I was sick and miserable for days due to an allergic reaction to so many bites!""

Madaus posted, "YES! These are pictures of BED BUG bites. If you are planning on traveling to the Dells, or anywhere for that matter, PLEASE READ! This week (Monday, July 13th through this afternoon, 2015) was UDA dance camp for our wonderful dance team. It was held at the CHULA VISTA RESORT in Wisconsin Dells. I normally don't post messages like this, but I am so angry about our experience there that I think it's making me physically ill! It started out on Monday afternoon when we were told our rooms were ready. I went into my room to find that the room had not actually been cleaned from the guests who stayed there prior to us. 

"I was not too angry because I understand that mistakes happen, right?! No big deal! But when I called room service, the person on the phone (I learned after this to always take names!) acted as if I was inconveniencing her. She asked what I would like her to do. I said, "Ummm…. Clean our room?" she responded by saying, "Hold on, I'll see if there's anything we can do." Then put me on hold for 5 minutes, and then hung up on me. 

"After I hadn't received a call back, I called again. Eventually someone came to clean the room. I got over it in 5 minutes. This was Monday. Tuesday was a busy day, the second day of dance camp is always the craziest… sometime in the afternoon I started feeling itchy on my left arm, assuming I had a mosquito bite or something because that's what it felt and looked like. So I went to bed that night, still itchy but still not thinking too much about it.

"I woke up early Wednesday and had these "mosquito" bites all over my arm, my forehead, chest and even on my eyelid! How could I have this many "mosquito" bites when I hadn't gone outside since I arrived Monday morning? I went down to the lobby and asked if our room could be checked. I TRULY thought that I was just going crazy though. But the housekeeping supervisor, Jessica, who was the ONLY pleasant, apologetic and helpful employee at this establishment confirmed by looking at the fecal matter pictured, that we indeed had a room infested with bed bugs and we were immediately moved into a Jacuzzi suit. 

"Jessica also carefully inspected our dance team's rooms and cleared them of bed bugs. Jessica was great. She also informed us that hotels have to have staff trained to inspect bed bug cases, and if you request to have your room checked before your stay, the hotel legally has to do it. SO KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN YOU TRAVEL! But the rest of the hotel management: AWEFUL. There was no sense of urgency or empathy when this had happened. It took for us to complain to at least a handful of upper management staff, including the director of operations, to get them to give us our money back for the room.

"We asked Mark, the director of operations, and Lindsey, the front desk manager, to have a copy of the incident report ready for us before we left. They assured us that an incident report was written, and that if we were to bring these bed bugs home with us that the hotel's insurance would cover any type of extermination. BUT they couldn't show us or give us the incident report and they couldn't give us any type of written documentation. 

"They refused.They confirmed their hotel room (room 2449) had bed bugs and apologized for the inconvenience- as if it were comparable to a clogged sink or something- but absolutely wouldn't give us anything writing- it was "illegal." They said that Phil, Director of Safety, who apparently wasn't in at the moment, was the only person that could release the incident reports to us. Phil was supposed to give us a call "in a bit," but it's 10:30 p.m. and we still haven't heard from him. As soon as I got home this evening, I went to the doctor because the itching and pain from the bites was getting worse (my roommate also had bites but didn't have the same reaction to them as I did). The doc said that she had never seen such a bad case of bed bug bites and thought at first glance I had a severe case of poison ivy.

"I had an allergic reaction to the bites and was given medication and a topical cream. Now I am not on here whining or complaining about the bed bugs. Yes, it's gross, but I understand that that's a risk you take staying in a hotel and would never publicize something in this manner if it was handled properly. What makes me irate and what I want the public to know is the awful response by Chula Vista Management. No one checked up on us or offered any kind of compensation. We had to fight for the little we received out of this when ALL we really wanted was a piece of documentation stating that the incident happened in their hotel and they would take care of us if these bugs were brought home with us! Awful customer service from day one. On the bright side, however, I did have so much fun with my amazing, beautiful dance team who always cracks me up! And, of course, my co coach and one of my closest friends,Katie, who always has my back! Love you guys!!!"

Wisconsin Filed Frivolous FoodShare Lawsuit Seeking To Test Recipients

Wisconsin Attorney General Schimel filed a frivolous FoodShare lawsuit seeing for a federal judge to grant the state authority to drug test recipients who already have to work 20 hours per month to qualify for aid.

Milwaukee, WI - U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Milw) sent letter to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) requesting him to abandon his attempt to drug test FoodShare recipients and confirmed that WI State Attorney General Brad Schimel (R) had filed a frivolous FoodShare (Food Stamp) drug testing lawsuit that seeks a federal judge to allow WI to test recipients, which is a waste of taxpayer funds, according to Moore.

Federal law prohibits drug testing for FoodShare recipients and states can't create eligibility policies or legislation to determine who receives FoodShare benefits, since the federal government fully funds the program and not the states.

The GOP controlled legislature recently passed a bill that was signed into law by Governor Walker for FoodShare recipients with no dependent children and under 60 years of age receiving aid to work at least 20 hours a month to receive FoodShare. Since states can't create eligibility policies or legislation concerning FoodShare, this working part time bill for FoodShare recipients could be also considered unlawful.

This week USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack had also confirmed that the U.S. Congress prohibits states to drug test FoodShare recipients.
Governor Walker who announced his bid for the Republican nomination for President in 2016 on Monday is campaigning to drug test FoodShare recipients even though knowing that states are prohibited from drug testing those who are getting Food Stamps.
Walker and his presidential campaign is facing nationwide criticism and embarrassment for copying and using America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses E logo for his personal campaign. America's Best called it Logogate.
Many people believe America's Best was endorsing Walker, but has denied it as some people have threatened to stop doing business with the contacts & eyeglasses business.

Moore's letter to Walker:

The Honorable Scott Walker Governor State of Wisconsin P.O. Box 7863 Madison, WI 53707 Dear Governor Walker, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the ill-advised and illegal proposal enacted in the recently adopted Wisconsin State budget to add a drug test as a requirement for participating in Food Share for some recipients.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is vital in helping to combat hunger in America and is a vital lifeline for over 800,000 in Wisconsin. I remind you that SNAP is a federal program and the federal government covers 100% of the costs of the benefits. Administrative costs are split between states and the federal government. As a result, federal law grants the federal government sole authority to set eligibility requirements for the program.

Yet, the State of Wisconsin seems intent on pursuing this misguided drug testing policy, though federal law on this matter is clear. After passage in the recent State Budget of this unwarranted, wasteful, and unconstitutional provision, you have now filed a frivolous lawsuit—at state taxpayer expense no less. Your lawsuit appears to implicitly acknowledge that the federal government could not legally allow this scheme to move forward and advances a very serious misinterpretation of federal law permitting drug testing for SNAP recipients that not even Republicans in Congress share.

How do I know? In 2013, I managed the time opposing the amendment that sought to permit states to add drug testing as a condition for SNAP eligibility during debate in on the farm bill in the House. That proposal (Sec. 136 of H.R. 3102, Hudson Amendment to H.R. 1947) sought to allow states to conduct drug testing for SNAP recipients beyond current law which allows states to ban or test convicted drug felons. The amendment was adopted in the House and incorporated into both H.R. 1947 and H.R. 3102. As noted by the Republican chairman of the House Agriculture Committee during debate on H.R. 3102, “Language allowing the States to very clearly use drug testing as a part of their SNAP application process was adopted by a majority of the votes on this floor.” It would be inconceivable that House Republicans would have pursued this legislation if your interpretation of federal law was, in fact, correct.

If I have not been clear, just over a year and a half ago, House Republicans recognized that no federal law allows drug testing of SNAP recipients by states beyond those with drug convictions. Congress then said NO to giving states that power as the House passed provisions were dropped from the final Farm Bill.

Federal law related to SNAP remains crystal clear on another item: States cannot add conditions of eligibility to SNAP, outside those required by federal law. Specifically, Section 5(b) of the Food and Nutrition Act (7 U.S.C. §2014(b)) states that "No plan of operation submitted by a State agency shall be approved unless the standards of eligibility meet those established by the Secretary, and no State agency shall impose any other standards of eligibility as a condition for participating in the program." I applaud the work of the USDA to make sure that Wisconsin and other states are not allowed to add wasteful, unnecessary, and, in this case, unconstitutional, requirements to impose more hardships and obstacles to those who are food insecure in our communities. While you may be frustrated by this interpretation, the law remains the law.

I won’t get into the very fallacious arguments behind proposals such as this that are based on the unfounded and unwarranted presumption most of the people who use food stamps also use drugs other than to express that I have seen neither your office nor proponents in the State Legislature provide one iota of scientific evidence supporting that contention. I do know that Florida tried to drug test applicants for TANF benefits. Besides being struck down as unconstitutional by a federal court, it was wasteful as well given that Florida spent more money reimbursing individuals for drug tests than the state saved on screening out an extremely small population (108 of 4,086 TANF applicants).

I suggest instead of wasting Wisconsin taxpayer dollars on this frivolous lawsuit, the money could be better spent trying to figure out how to help restore food assistance to the seniors in Wisconsin who saw they Food Share payments significantly cut by the 2014 farm bill. This includes seniors like 65 year old Judy Beals of Belleville, a disabled senior who relies on Social Security, who saw her benefit drop from $120 to $16. Governors in other states have stepped up to protect vulnerable citizens from losing access to SNAP benefits. Wisconsin can join them if you so choose.

Again, I urge you to abandon your attempts to impose a wasteful, unconstitutional, unnecessary, and stigmatizing provision whose only goal is to shame poor people.

Five Teens With Covered Faces And Knives Robbing Víctims Near Park In Milwaukee's Southside

Multiple witnesses including kids at a Southside park noticed other children with covered faces and carrying knives attempting or robbing victims.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, police were called to the Modzejewski Park and Playground at the 1000 block of W. Cleveland Ave. around 3:00 p.m. to investigate a possible attempted or armed robbery of victims by a group of young kids with covered faces and carrying knives. The children ages between 12 to 15 were involved in the alleged illegal activity were described as 1 Hispanic, 1 White and two Afro-Americans, according to a witness who wants to remain anonymous, but reported the incident to police.

There were around 50 children at the Modzejewski Park, which is a Milwaukee County park at the time of the incident. Most of them witnessed the unusual activity by the five teens who were engaged in alleged crime activity as a group.

The teen alleged crime group reported on Cleveland  Ave. is believed to also target Kosciusko County Park at the 700 block of W. Lincoln Ave., according to other witnesses. Milwaukee police have not reported any armed robberies or attempted robberies being committed by any young group of kids in the Southside.

Oklahoma State GOP Chairman Compared FoodShare Recipients To Animals

Oklahoma - On Tuesday, the Oklahoma State Republican Chairman Randy Brogdon apologized after comparing FoodShare recipients to animals in the GOP Party's Tweeter account. The tweet by Brogdon on Monday stated, "The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest number of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed The Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

21-year-old suspect has been charged for a Milwaukee Southside double homicide over a drug deal gone bad.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Curtis Wilke, 21, aka, "Carlitos" of Milwaukee was charged with two felony counts for first-degree reckless homicide for the July 7 Milwaukee Southside double homicide of Victor Omar Burgos Rosario, 29, and Wilbert Saurez-Otero, 29. A $300,000 cash bond was set for Wilke when he was taken into custody on July 13. The bond was reduced on Thursday to $100,000 cash when he appeared in court, according to court records. If convicted of double homicide, Wilke is facing up to 60 years in prison for each count.

According to a July 11 search warrant affidavit, Wilke allegedly shot both victims in the head after an apparent cocaine deal gone bad at the 600 block of W. Arthur Ave. 

A witness told police, that Saurez-Otero wanted to buy cocaine from Burgos Rosario, but he didn't have any to sell. So, they contacted Wilke for the cocaine and waited for him on W. Arthur Ave. near where Burgos Rosario resided. While both victims were waiting for Wilke, they decide to rob him, according to the witness. The witness didn't see the shooting, but told police that he went back to Burgos Rosario's home to wait afterwards.

Apparently, Wilke shot both victims in the head and were found in the street by police. Police found a kitchen style knife on Saurez-Otero's body and a pair of scissors on Burgos Rosario's body.

Police executed a search warrant at Wilke's residence and found a manual for a Ruger SP 101 of a .357 Cal. Magnum model revolver. The weapon was not recovered. Forensic results indicate the victims were shot with .357 Cal. handgun. The weapon can shoot both .38 and .357 Cal. bullets.

Police were able to recover video surveillance footage from a grocery store on the corner showing Wilke arriving in his vehicle and then leaving the crime scene. The vehicle that Wilke was driving at the time of the double homicides is missing.

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Felipe Rodriguez Jr. retired as an Outreach Program Manager III, Office of Student Affairs in the School of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee after 39 years of academic service. He was a former Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute (renamed the Roberto Hernández Center-RHC) interim director.

 
In 1985, Rodriguez with the aid of H. Nelson Goodson, then a UWM student, President of La Colectiva student org. and Grievance Director of UWM Student Government along with other Colectiva members were instrumental in preventing the SSOI emergence with the multi-cultural student services as one center, thus securing its future autonomy to recruit, offer counseling services and to retain Hispanic students at UWM. Today, the RHC continues to operated as an independent student service center at the Academic Affairs in the School of Education.

"The dean of the College of Letters and Sciences, William F. Halloran, in 1985 released a proposal to strip the SSOI (Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute) of its advising component," Joseph A. Rodriguez, Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Department of History Director, Urban Studies Program wrote in a revised article titled "Latinos at UWM: A History of the Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute and the Roberto Hernández Center" on December 2005, page 34. https://tinyurl.com/4dkjx6yj

Felipe Rodriguez in 1985 called Goodson at La Colectiva Student Organization and told him that Dean Halloran and the UWM administration were planning to merge the SSOI with the multi-cultural center, which eventually would weaken it and phase it out. Goodson managed to get Yolanda Hernández, Josephine Marie Rivas, Anthony Garza, Havidán Rodriguez, Miguel Ferriera, Nydia Flores, Alicia Herrera, Isidro González, Ruben Burgos and Javier Ortiz also members of La Colectiva to meet with the Acting Vice-Chancellor John H. Schoeder in regards to the proposed merger of the SSOI.

Goodson advised Schoeder, that if the administration and Halloran continued the proposed plan to merge the SSOI with the multi-cultural center in order to weaken the SSOI mission and services, which would violate the 1970 agreement between the Latino community and UWM, Goodson would organize a community protest at Chapman Hall.

Felipe later contacted Goodson and confirmed that the proposed plan to merge SSOI with multi-cultural center was canceled.

However, according to the article written by Associate Professor Rodriguez, Dean Halloran began once again to weaken the SSOI in 1988, when Goodson had graduated from UWM and was no longer a student.

Rodriguez was hired in 1976 at UWM and continued to support the 1970 struggle for higher education and legacy that transpired from the historic August 27, 1970 UW-Milwaukee Chancellor's Office take-over by member's of the Latino Community who fought and challenged UWM's discriminatory policy to prevent Latinos from enrolling by enforcing high prerequisite requirements and testing that kept most Hispanic student's who were not prepared by the Milwaukee Public School system for college bound counseling and studies to help them attend two year or four UW-System state universities around Wisconsin.

Five people were arrested at the first day of the take-over of Chapman Hall on August 27, 1970, they are Jesus Salas, Dante Navarro, Marla O. Anderson, Gregorio "Goyo" Rivera and Jose Luis Huerta-Sanchez. Navarro and Anderson have passed away.

In 1970, there were only about 14 Hispanic students enrolled at UWM compared to 27,000 White students and most Latino students were foreigners. After the August 27, 1970 take-over Chapman Hall where the UWM Chancellor's Office was located, Chancellor J. Martin Klotsche finally agreed to allow Hispanic students to enroll, even if some were still seniors at local high schools and would take credited college classes as long as they promised to continue university studies after graduation from high school.

Rodriguez who is also a well known Puerto Rican and Spanish traditional cultural singer including a musician has recently accepted a part time music instructing position with La Causa Charter School.

Suspect Sought In Domestic Abuse Homicide Of Girlfriend?

A 22-year-old woman was allegedly found deceased at a Wisconsin County rode way and showed signs of being beaten, according to a Facebook (FB) posting by what seems to be her mother writing it on her FB account.

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Brianna Marie, 22, was found allegedly deceased at a Wisconsin County roadway and had signs of being beaten, according to a Facebook posting by what seems to have been written by her mother circulating on the social media. Police are currently investigating to see, if in fact a homicide had occurred.
The FB death notice posting on Marie's FB was picked up by FB friends and the grandmother of one of Marie's children who thought that indeed she had passed away. The grandmother of Marie's child has not been able to confirm, if Marie is well.

Marie had previously posted photos of her domestic abuse on Facebook. She was looking for shelter for battered woman, according to the FB postings.

Milwaukee police have confirmed, that no body has been recovered within the city limits of a battered woman. The Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office has also confirmed to other media members that no body of a battered woman has been recovered within Milwaukee County, according to local media sources.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) will continue to follow any developments about Marie's plight and hopes she is still well and can seek appropriate help as a victim of domestic violence.

HNNUSA has learned that Marie is expecting and has two daughters.

Joaquín Guzmán Loera aka El Chapó Escapes From Federal Prison Again

El Chapó, the Sinaloa drug cartel leader escaped once again from a federal prison.

Mexico City, Mexico - On Saturday, Joaquín Guzmán Loera, aka, "El Chapo" known as the Sinaloa drug cartel leader managed to escape around 8:20 p.m. from the Mexican federal Altiplano prison. Prison video surveillance noticed that Guzmán Loera went to the shower room to wash, but prison guards later noticed that Guzmán Loera had disappeared from view and when a cell prisoner check was done, he was missing.

Prison officials and the Secretary of Governence (Segob) have confirmed that Guzmán Loera is missing. A national dragnet has been put into place to locate the fugitive in Mexico. All flights from the Toluca airport were suspended.
Authorities found an escape sophisticated tunnel leading to the maximum Altiplano prison from a nearby property.
At least 18 guards including staff from the prison have been transported to a different location by investigators for questioning. All visiting to the Altiplano prison has been suspended.

The U.S. government had requested for Guzmán Loera extradition to the U.S. to face federal drug trafficking, murder and money laundering charges, but the Mexican government had refused. Many law enforcement agents believed that the Mexican government was paid by Guzmán Loera to keep him in Mexico, so it would be easier to escape. Guzmán Loera's prison escape had been expected by the U.S. government.

Guzmán Loera was a fugitive for 13 years after he escaped in 2001 from the Puente Blanco federal prison located in the state of Jalisco in 2001 and was arrested in Mazatlán, Sinaloa on February 22, 2014 by Mexican marines.
The Mexican government is offering $60M pesos ($3.8M U.S.) reward for information leading to the arrest of Guzmán Loera. The U.S. is offering $5M reward.

Roger C. Rocha Jr. Elected National LULAC President At Salt Lake City Convention

Rocha ran for LULAC National President last year in NYC during the 85th LULAC National Convention, but the election was cancelled after a TRO was filed and Rocha was projected to lose to Maggie Rivera from Illinois. Also, New Mexico's State Representative Patricia Roybal Cabellero was elected as National LULAC Treasurer, despite a LULAC Constitutional prohibition for public elected officials to serve on the National LULAC Board.

Salt Lake City, Utah - On Saturday, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) members at the 86TH National LULAC Convention & Expo in Salt Lake City elected Roger C. Rocha Jr. from Laredo, Texas. Rocha ran last year and had support from the outgoing and termed-out LULAC National President Margaret Moran. Last year's election was cancelled by Moran and a legal advisor after a TRO was filed to prevent as some members labelled as cheating and support for Rocha was not present and he would have lost to Rivera who was elected by the assembly present. Moran and her advisors wouldn't recognize Rivera's election for her stand to get rid of the alleged corruption that has plagued the LULAC National under the leadership of Moran and another former LULAC National president.

Under Rocha's leadership, the same status quo that Moran and former National LULAC President Rosa Rosales will continue. It was paramount for Moran and Rosales that they could get Rocha elected, so that legal action wouldn't be taken against the former administrations for the misuse of funds, lawsuits and other issues that the National LULAC is facing.

Rocha's election secures that the National LULAC is still headed by a Texan. No other member from any other state has ever been elected as LULAC National president for the last 85 years. Why would anyone today become a member of an organization that discriminates it's own membership, cancels an election because their candidate wouldn't win and doesn't allow anyone other than a Texan to run the non-profit organization? It became apparent last year, when Rivera who is from Illinois won and Moran including her legal advisors would not let her take office. Rivera is from Crystal Lake, Illinois. 

Rivera was elected last year, but former National LULAC President Margaret Moran and her executive legal advisor cancelled the election and prevented Rivera who had won from taking office. Moran was termed out and couldn't extend her term, but managed to continue as President. Several lawsuits were filed, one in New York, the other in Texas and are still open challenging Moran's controversial presidency reign and Rivera not being allowed to take office.

This year, the election was done by secret electronic voting.

Under Moran and her close advisors, the National LULAC faced improper property sales without executive board or membership approval, funds were used to pay for hotel rooms not used at last year's national convention in NYC and other questionable transactions, including misuse of funds.

LULAC members are calling foul once again in the election process and claiming that New Mexico's Bernalillo County State Representative Patricia Roybal Caballero was elected as the National LULAC Treasurer, which the LULAC Constitution and Bylaws prohibits any public elected official from serving in the Board and holding both jobs.
Darryl Morin, of Wisconsin and the former Vice President of the Midwest declined to run for a third term due to family and personal reasons, according to a statement that Morin released. Last year, he had abruptly resigned, but then decided to continue and supported Moran's termed out quest to illegally continue as LULAC National President, despite being prohibited by the organization's Constitution and Bylaws.

 In a different elected category:

 ● Jared Hernández from Galveston, TX was elected LULAC National Youth President. Members claimed that he is overaged to be in that category.

Walker's Presidential Campaign E Logo Copied From America's Best Logo?

A copy logo infringement has been alleged against the premature presidential bid announcement of the Scott Walker for President 2016 campaign.

Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, many critics of the Scott Walker for President 2016 campaign began to question the new campaign logo for Walker after it was noticed that Walker's E logo is very similar to the E logo for America's Best Contact & Eyeglasses. Did the Walker for President campaign copy the logo?

A premature Tweet from the Walker campaign on Friday also shows the E logo and the tweet actually announced that Walker is running for President. The official presidential bid announcement for Walker is scheduled for Monday in Waukesha, Wisconsin, but the latest E logo controversy has tainted Walker's campaign with an alleged E logo infringement, according to political critics and Democrats.

The Walker for President campaign hasn't released a statement concerning the alleged copy right E logo infringement.

A customer care representative from America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses responded on Saturday in a Facebook post to Matthew J. Scholtes concerning their E logo and Walker's presidential campaign E logo similarity, that they are "not affiliated, or sponsoring Republican Scott Walker. We are working with our Marketing team to resolve this situation."
The America's Best Tweeter account has exploded with tweets making reference to Walker's #logogate. Walker's campaign receives tens of thousands of donations and they can't come up with an original logo of their own and he wants to become president.
Walker is the 15th Republic campaignan to filed his candidacy for president with the Federal Election Commission for the GOP nomination for President in 2016.
