Milwaukee's Hispanic Community Commemorates 45th Anniversary Of Equal Access To Higher Education

This year marks the 45th Anniversary that the Hispanic community struggled to gain equal access to higher education by staging protests after taking over Chapman Hall in 1970.

By H. Nelson Goodson
August 27, 2015

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, the Milwaukee Hispanic community once again will commemorate its 45th Anniversary for the struggle to provide equal access to higher education for generations of Hispanic students in the State of Wisconsin. On August 27, 1970, the Hispanic community took over Chapman Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) after a discriminatory policy was in place to keep Hispanics from enrolling at UWM. In the Fall semester of 1970, there were only 14 Hispanic students enrolled at UWM, most of them from South and Central America compared to 25,000 students attending classes.
For the Hispanic community, "In Milwaukee many barriers existed blocking their paths to higher education. Their language and cultural distinctness were frowned upon, and they had limited access to information about educational opportunities and few professional role models. Discriminatory treatment was the norm." (Cited from Myriad Magazine UWM 1990)
At least 500 people took it upon themselves to stand up and challenge the UWM discriminatory policy that prevented Hispanics and other minorities from enrolling at the urban university.
Four men, Jesus Salas, Gregorio J. "Goyo" Rivera, Dante Navarro and Jose Luis Huerta-Sanchez and one woman, Marla O. Anderson were taken into custody for protesting the discriminatory policy that kept Latinos from enrolling at UWM and for refusing to leave UWM Chancellor J. Martin Klotsche's office on that August afternoon. The UWM protest began with about 150 people and within days, it grew to more than 500 people.
Klotsche refused to meet with the protesters, but after three days of hunger strikes by the protest organizers, the stalemate broke and Klotsche finally met with them.
By September 1970, UWM along with members of the Hispanic community created the Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute (SSOI) to offer academic counseling, recruit and retain potential students. The SSOI would especially serve nearly 30,000 Latinos living in the Milwaukee area.
Believe it or not, the 1970 takeover of UWM quietly faded away in the memories of those who participated and went on with their lives. After 31 years, it resurfaced again when the first comprehensive article by H. Nelson Goodson detailing the accounts was written and published in 2001.
In 1996, the SSOI was renamed the Roberto Hernandez Center. Hernandez was one of the instrumental leaders of the UWM protests in 1970.

Hispanic Lives Matter In The U.S. And Have A $1.5T Purchasing And Voting Power

Anti-immigrant and hate hysteria campaign towards Hispanics and immigrants has become the focal issue for the candidates campaigning for the Republican nomination for U.S. President in 2016.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

August 26, 2015

Washington, D.C. - More than 75% of Hispanics in the U.S. have a negative view of the leading candidate in the polls, Donald J. Trump from the Republican political party, who has gained the Pendejo/Estúpido (Stupid) label by Latinos nationwide for his outspoken anti-immigrant and hate hysteria rhetoric campaign. The Republican Party has also been labeled "El partido político de Estúpidos" by Hispanics. Trump is campaigning for mass deportations, eliminating Obama's DACA and DAPA policies, if elected and deporting DREAMers, ending birthright citizenship to children born to undocumented parents residing in the country. Trump is advocating to built 1,284 miles of border wall between the U.S. and Mexico that will cost tax payers $20B and the mass deportation of 11M of undocumented immigrants at a cost of $12.5K per person totalling up to $137B, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Today U.S. Hispanics including undocumented workers have more than $1.5T in purchasing power in the country and within several years could reach up to $2T. Unfortunately, Hispanics today haven't been able to manage their own purchasing empowerment to influence immigration reform for nearly a decade, since the first uprising and activism in the national level against anti-immigrant bashing and the attempt by U.S. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) to criminalize people for providing aid to undocumented immigrants.
Hispanics nationwide need to wake up from being idle and need to fight back against immigrant bashing and racism towards Latinos targeted by Trump and the other 14 candidates for the Republican nomination for President by limiting their purchasing power to influence change and immigration reform today. This nation runs by the dollar and the dollar, if used effectively can influence change. A national campaign to stop purchasing products from those businesses and companies that don't support immigration reform would no doubt halt the anti-immigrant bashing by Trump and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) who agreed with Trump in ending birthright citizenship to children born to undocumented parents in the U.S., but a political backlash and losing 50% of his support in Iowa influenced his decision to recant his support for ending birthright. Walker is known to flipflop on issues just to get votes, but if elected, he will be anti-immigrant and would attempt to end birthright to U.S. Citizens.
U.S. birthright landmark case, the United States vs. Wong Kim Ark (169 U.S. 649) set precedent in 1898 that children born in the U.S., despite having undocumented or foreign parents granted them birthright to citizenship. On March 28, 1898, Supreme Court Justice Herace Gray in a majority decision wrote, " “irresistibly lead us to these conclusions: the Fourteenth Amendment affirms the ancient and fundamental rule of citizenship by birth within the territory, in the allegiance and under the protection of the country, including all children here born of resident aliens ….The Amendment, in clear words and in manifest intent, includes the children born, within the territory of the United States, of all other persons, of whatever race or color, domiciled within the United States.”
The mass deportation alone of 11M undocumented immigrants would have a devastating effect of the U.S. economy that would plunge the country into a deep recession leading to a depression. The created job void by mass deportations to replace unauthorized workers nationwide would force restaurants, companies and businesses to shut down that would eliminate state and federal tax generating revenue.
In the last decade, unauthorized workers have contributed $100B into the Social Security Trust Fund and most won't benefit from their contribution and don't claim tax refunds.
One thing for sure, Hispanic lives do matter in the U.S. and the Hispanic vote will determine the next President elect in 2016.

Republican candidate for President Donald J. Trump's plan for mass deportation of undocumented immigrants would cost more than $137B, according to ICE. The Center for American Progress estimated a combine processing and deportation of undocumented immigrants at a cost of $570B. Trump's assumption that crime has increased by the influx of illegal crossings into the U.S. is contradicted, because between 1990 to 2013, crime decreased by 48% while the influx of immigrants increased by 8% - 13%.

● Trump's mass deportation plan to deport 11M illegals would cost $12,500 each or $137B, according to U.S. ICE

● The U.S. border between Mexico is 1,954 miles long, it has 670 miles of fence and building a wall for 1,284 miles would cost at least $16M per mile with a total projected cost of $20M, according to Univision.

● 40% of foreigners who overstay their Visa's in the U.S. arrive by passenger planes, according to Government Accountability Office/PEW Hispanic Center

● 75% of the Hispanic population in the U.S. consider Trump in a negative view, according to NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll

● In 2015, Hispanics purchasing power reached $1.5T, an increase of 50% since 2010. Hispanic women control a majority of house spending. Women spend $3.3B in foot wear, according to the Nielsen report.

● 56M Hispanics reside in the U.S. making a 17.6% of the U.S. population, the Latin Post reported. 2/3 of the reported population are Mexican-American in the U.S.

● At the age of 21, children born in the U.S. to undocumented parents can petition for their parents to be legalize, in contrary to the notion that birthright of children grants quick legalization to undocumented parents.

● By 2019, Hispanics will account for 10.6% in U.S. purchasing power.

● In 2013, more than 150,000 Hispanics were in active duty compared to 2011, which they made up 17 percent of new recruits. More than 60 Medals of Honor were awarded to Hispanics, Aljazeera reported.

● In the last decade, undocumented workers contributed $100B to the Social Security Trust Fund. An estimated 11M undocumented immigrants reside in the U.S. and about 7M are unauthorized workers and 3.1M of those worked with fake or expired Social Security numbers and paid automatic payroll taxes to the federal government. In 2010, a $13B annual net contribution was made to the Social Security Trust Fund. Most of the unauthorized workers will never benefit from their tax contributions later in life, according to Stephen Goss, Chief Actuary Secretary of the SSA.

● More than 60M U.S. Hispanics are eligible voters and could cast their vote in 2016 to determine the next President elect.

● Crime in the U.S. went down between 1990 to 2013 by 48% as 8% to 13% of the immigrant population increased (American Immigration Council)

● Actually undocumented immigrants crossing into the U.S. dropped from 12.2M in 2007 to 11.2M in 2012 and only 12% living in the U.S. were born in another country (Center for American Progress)

● Only 3.5% of undocumented immigrants make up a small segment of the total population in the U.S. and make up 5% of the labor force in the country (Pew Research Center)

● Trump and the other 14 GOP candidates for president don't realize that in 2013, 125,000 Mexican nationals crossed into the U.S. compared to 147,000 Chinese nationals that same year, according to the WSJ.

● If all undocumented immigrants were deported today, the U.S. economy would lose $2.6T over ten years and would cost $285B to deport them and an additional $285B to process them for deportation (Center for American Progress)

● The New Republic dot com reported, the American Immigration Council estimates that immigrants earn about $240 billion a year, pay about $90 billion a year in taxes, and use about $5 billion in public benefits,” a 2010 report by the Council found. “In another cut of the data, immigrant tax payments total $20 to $30 billion more than the amount of government services they use.” And a report by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2013 found that “more than half of undocumented immigrants have federal and state income, Social Security, and Medicare taxes automatically deducted from their paychecks.” Those immigrants are essentially helping to underwrite the welfare system, providing an enormous subsidy to it every year without being able to reap any of the benefits. The Chamber of Commerce report found they are more than twice as likely as native-born Americans to start a new business each month. In fact, immigrants started 28 percent of all new businesses in the United States in 2011. Immigrants pay billions in taxes to the government every year; in Texas alone, they generate $1.6 billion annually in taxes.

● Undocumented immigrants in the U.S. paid $11.84B in state and federal taxes in 2012, according to the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy.

● 2 of 3 Americans support a pathway to U.S. Citizenship for undocumented immigrants (Gallop Poll, August 2015)

● Today, 8.8M legalized immigrants can be naturalized, 3.3M are of Mexican descent, 640K Chinese are legalized and 2.9M can become naturalized, according to USDHS (2012). 11.2M Hispanics voted in 2012, 12.1M failed to vote or 82% of registered Hispanic voters cast their vote in 2012.

Update: Candidate for President federal Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told CNN, Trump is an idiot on Mideast policy and ill prepared to be commander in chief, shallow and engages in demagoguing immigrants. If Trumps gets the Republican nomination for President, it would be the end of the Republican Party and should lose the election in 2016.

Mexican Fiesta 2015 Draws 80,000 To Lakefront Festival At Summerfest Grounds

An estimated 80,000 festival goers attended this year's Mexican Fiesta 2015, according to volunteers and organizers.

By H. Nelson Goodson
August 24, 2015

Milwaukee, WI - An update about Mexican Fiesta 2015: according to former Mexican Fiesta Ambassador Vanessa Vasquez Facebook posting, she claims that more than 80,000 people attended this year's Fiesta over the weekend. No official record of attendance has been released from Mexican Fiesta 2015. Also, no one was reported banned from the Mexican Fiesta for having body art on their face or body deemed distasteful to Fiesta organizers, police and the LPOA security, according to unofficial preliminary Milwaukee police and Latino Peace Officers Association (LPOA) reports.
This year's music venue included, the Tejano Show Case with Ram Herrera, Casey Zavala, Oscar G., David Farias, Michael Salgado, Liberty Band, XS Band and Tejano Highway 281. Mexican Fiesta performers were Bachatero Joe Veras, Carmen La Salsera with Cache Pueblo Latino and Mexican music venue that included Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon, Pablo Montero, Chuy Lizarraga y su Banda Tierra Sinaloense, Grupo Kual?, Mariachi Cobre, Espinosa Paz, Dinastia Norteña and La Sonora Internacional USA.
In brief history, two years ago, Mexican Fiesta in Milwaukee banned Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) from the Mexican Fiesta Office during a press conference for first reporting on August 24, 2013 that Fiesta was enforcing a discriminating policy to ban people with certain facial and body tattoos from assisting the Mexican Fiesta at the Summerfest grounds because they were deemed as gang members or would-be gang members even if they were not or did nothing wrong at the Fiesta grounds. HNNUSA also reported in 2013 about Mexican Fiesta's discriminating policy not to award scholarships to DREAMers. According to their website in 2013, Mexican Fiesta claimed that it had given more than $2.5M in scholarships, but HNNUSA discovered that not one single dollar was ever awarded to DREAMers because they were prohibited from applying for scholarships.
The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation Board (WHSF), which sponsors the Mexican Fiesta three-day festival at the Summerfest grounds and the National LULAC changed their discriminating policy after Hispanic News Network U.S.A. exposed the exclusion of DREAMers from applying for scholarships.
Last year in 2014, the WHSF began to accept scholarship applications from registered DREAMers. The LULAC National gave a matching scholarship fund as well and also had excluded DREAMers from getting scholarships.
Some have asked, how did Salsa, Bachata and Merengue music venue was introduced at the annual Fiesta? Well, Puerto Rican (PR) music was first introduced back in 1983 to the Fiesta Mexicana when I suggested it at the time to La Fiesta Mexicana organizers, which were having a volunteer party at Margaritas Bar and Hall on W. Windlake Avenue. The Fiesta Mexicana sponsor was Latin American Union for Civil Rights (LAUCR) which was headed by Executive Director Salvador Sanchez and former UMOS director.
The Fiesta Mexicana organizers finally agreed that it would boost attendance  and the first PR artist to appear at the Fiesta Mexicana was Willie Colón from NY. The year after, I briefly joined the Fiesta Mexicana Board and when a Board meeting took place, one of the Board members was opposed to continue to have a Puerto Rican band play again at Fiesta Mexicana claiming it wasn't a PR fest, but when I brought up Willie Colón's successful performance including a huge attendance and how the grounds were packed,  the Board once again decided to bring another PR artist, Ray Barreto performed and the year after Frankie Sabath.
The PR music venue was a success in generating funds at the old Summerfest Miller stage and ever since then, a Salsa band, Merengue or Bachata artist performs at the annual festival, regardless of the non-profit organization that sponsors the Fiesta. Not to many people know about my influence to stop discrimination among cultures in our own community and bridging harmony by working together for the benefit of our community.
The Puerto Rican community is credited and was also involved with the Mexican community in the 1970's activism and the take-over of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) to allow Hispanics to enroll. Only 14 Hispanics were enrolled on August 27, 1970 compared to 27,000 White students.
Our community united and took over UWM and succeeded in eliminating the discriminatory policy and barrier that kept Hispanics from enrolling at UWM due to high prerequisites demand in which Hispanic students were not being prepared by the Milwaukee Public School system with college bound courses needed to pass college tests for enrollment.
Today, the doors of education remain open and basically anyone seeking a higher education can enroll without any problems. The annual Fiesta was first created by the community founders and activists to generate funds for scholarships to students to attend universities and colleges throughout the State of Wisconsin.
On August 27th, it will mark the 45th Anniversary of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee take-over by the Hispanic community to break down the discriminatory policy and barrier to keep Hispanics from enrolling at the university.

Update: On Tuesday, Mexican Fiesta 2015 confirmed that more than 80K people attended the three-day fest.

Republican Political Party Gains The Pendejos Party Label Over Mexican Hate Rhetoric

The hate rhetoric towards Mexicans and U.S. born citizens of Mexican descent by most of the Republican candidates for the nomination for President in 2016 has labeled the GOP as the Pendejos political party.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

August 24, 2015

Washington, D.C. - The GOP or the Republican political party is now known nationally by Hispanics and immigrants as the "Pendejos" (Stupid) political party for the hate rhetoric and hysteria towards Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and immigrants by most of the 15 candidates trying to get the Republican nomination for President in 2016. Out spoken pendejos and racists, candidates Donald J. Trump, Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker have taken the lead to exploit the hate card towards Hispanics and immigrants just to gain votes from bigoted Americans.
They seem to try to get America back into a White candidate control of the White House instead of embracing the diverse rich culture make up face of America today. No doubt, the combined ethnic population in the U.S. has taken over and these White candidates are desperate to keep Whites in political power or status quo to exploit racial discriminatory practices and to keep people of color in poverty and homeless.
Hispanics and immigrants have now been declared undesirable in America by the leading Republican candidate Trump who declared "War" on immigration, but in reality against all Hispanics in the U.S. Trump and the other GOP candidates are hoping most Hispanics can just turn sit back or turn their backs and allow for other Latinos to be discriminated, their rights violated and get as many U.S. born children in the country deported because of their Mexican roots and families.
Even some Republican Hispanics and Mexicans legally in the U.S. support Trump's outspoken attack on Latinos not realizing that they too have been targeted by Trump who is part German and his ancestors immigrated to the U.S. Some Latinos agree with Trump and Walker, that all Mexican nationals residing and working illegally in the country should be deported including ending a birthright to citizenship for those children born in the country to undocumented parents.
Since 2006, immigration reform activists, organizations and clergy staged demonstrations, marched, engaged in civil disobedience acts, hunger strikes and even had undocumented children confront GOP elected federal representatives at the national level for immigration reform while the majority of the undocumented population in the country stood idle and watched a few thousand activists struggle for their rights to remain in the U.S. Some Hispanics believe, if the 11M undocumented population continues to sit quietly and expect for immigration reform to get accomplish soon while being idle, then they deserve to get deported by Trump, Walker or the next Republican President elect.
Hispanics have become to complacent to racism and discrimination in the country, we inject trillions of dollars into the U.S. economy, but can't manage our spending power to influence change and immigration reform. We can vote in large numbers, we can spend trillions of dollars, but today we need to spend less in the U.S. to hit those Pendejos where it hurts, in their pockets.
Undocumented workers in the last ten decades have contributed more than $100B into the Social Security Trust Fund and even more to the IRS suspended account, which most undocumented workers don't file for tax refunds.
Trump declared a War against illegal immigration on Sunday, but has no credible plan for immigration reform other than to built a border wall by Mexico, promotes mass deportations, hate and ending U.S. birthright to children with undocumented parents. The bigoted America today is a dying breed and will eventually become dormant.

● Trump's mass deportation plan to deport 11M illegals would cost $12,500 each or $137B, according to U.S. ICE

● Cost to built a 1,900 mile border wall between the U.S. and Mexico $14B

While the male suspect beats her, the following phrase is heard out load repeatedly saying, "wrong hood bitch, wrong hood bitch, wrong hood bitch." GOP Thugs Attacked Union Protester At Walker's Iowa State Fair Speech

Several GOP supporters didn't care about free speech and destroyed a protest sign by a union supporter criticising Wisconsin's Republican Presidential candidate Governor Scott Walker at the Iowa State Fair.

Des Moines, Iowa - On Monday, several GOP thugs who support Wisconsin Presidential candidate Governor Scott Walker (R) aggressively attacked a union supporter after exhibiting a protest sign while Walker was giving a speech at the Register's stage at the Iowa State Fair. One of the GOP thugs wearing glasses can be seen reaching out to destroy and take a sign down that criticised his candidate, Walker.
The yellow sign was destroyed by the unidentified GOP thug, apparently he doesn't believe in free speech or protest signs criticising his candidate who is struggling to stay afloat to survive the Republican nomination for president.
According to recent polls, Donald J. Trump (R) one of 15 candidates campaigning for the Republican nomination for president is ahead in the Iowa polls and around the country for his anti-immigration views, stand and recent manifesto to end the U.S. Citizenship birthright of children born in the country to undocumented parents residing illegally in the country. Also, Trump wants to built a wall between the U.S. and Mexican border, make it a criminal offense for foreigners who stay in the U.S. with expired visas and would authorize mass deportations including whole families of undocumented immigrants with or without criminal records.
Governor Walker on Monday followed Trump's lead by telling MSNBC's Kasie Hunt that he agreed in ending the U.S. Citizenship birthright to children born to undocumented immigrants in the U.S., citing the need to enforce immigration laws. But, Walker seems to lack any knowledge that citizenship birthright is guaranteed by law and the U.S. Constitution, according to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
In 1898, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the 14th Amendment guaranteed U.S. Citizenship birthright to children born in the country or U.S. territory regardless, if the parents were foreigners (undocumented). (United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898))  Even an act by the U.S. Congress or President today can't end a birthright under the U.S. Constitution.

13 Suspects Charged For The Brutal Beating Torture Death Of 13-year-old Samiul Alam Rajon

Prosecutors in Bangladesh have filed charges against 12 men and 1 woman for the 28 minute brutal beating torture and murder of a 13-year-old boy in the outskirts of the city of Sylhet, which was video recorded for Facebook.

Sylhet, Bangladesh - On Monday, prosecutors in Sylhet filed murder charges against 12 men and a woman for the July 8 mob brutal beating death of Sheikh Md Samiul Alam Rajon, 13. Rajon was accused by the suspects of stealing a trike van and then was taken to the Kumargaon abandoned bus stop where he was brutality beaten with a steel rod by Kamrul Islam, 24, the alleged lynching mob leader. The suspects identified include, Moyna Mia, 45, a security guard, Ruhul Amin, 29, Muhit Alam, Ali Haider, 34, Ismail Hossain Ablus, 30, Lipi Begun, Feroz Ali, and Azmat Ullah. Begun is Muhit's wife and Ablus is his brother.
Rajon's autopsy report showed that he had 64 body, head, leg and arm injuries and died of blunt force trauma to the head that cause a fatal brain haemorrhage.
According to the criminal complaint, the suspects accused Rajon of stealing a trike van, then tortured and beat him for nearly 30 minutes as he pleaded for his life until he was eventually killed. One of the suspects video recorded Rajon's torture while Islam beat him with a metal rod in his feet, leg joints, shoulders and head. As other suspects watched Rajon's beating, several are seen on the video helping to tie and untie Rajon in a post. Another suspect is heard multiple times laughing at Rajon as he cried and suffered in pain. They even made fun of him and told him that they were recording a video of his beating to post it on Facebook (FB).
Police believe the suspects conspired to torture, beat and kill Rajon just to amuse themselves and post a video on FB. Authorities and the community in Sylhet discovered the cold blooded and brutal murder of an impoverished child when four of the suspects discarded Rajon's body at a remote area. Some passers-by noticed the suspects trying to dump the body and were able to detain Muhit while the other three suspects fled.
Islam fled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to escape prosecution, but some members of the Bangladesh community in Jeddah recognized Islam and took him into custody. Islam begged for mercy and even faked his crying when he was being interviewed inside a vehicle.
Rajon's murder has caused an outcry for justice for Rajon.

Unauthorized Workers Contributed $100B In Payroll Taxes To The Social Security Trust Fund And The IRS Suspended Account

Undocumented or unauthorized workers in the U.S. have contributed about $100B to the Social Security Trust Fund in the last decade and when unauthorized workers fail to file tax refunds, those unclaimed tax refund dollars get deposited into the IRS suspended account as a tax revenue surplus.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

August 16, 2015

Washington, D.C. - In 2014, Stephen Goss, the chief actuary of the Social Security Administration told Vice News that in the last decade, an estimated 11M undocumented immigrants reside in the U.S. and about 7M are unauthorized workers and 3.1M of those worked with fake or expired Social Security numbers and paid automatic payroll taxes to the federal government. In 2010, a $13B annual net contribution was made to the Social Security Trust Fund.
In the last ten years, unauthorized workers have paid an estimated $100B into the trust fund and most of the unauthorized workers will never benefit from their tax contributions later in life, according to Goss.
Most of the payroll tax funds collected from unauthorized workers are not claimed at the end of the year because they fail to file a tax refund with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS transfers unclaimed tax refunds to a suspended account totalling billions of dollars.
Also, State Tax Revenue Departments around the country have seen a surplus of state generated payroll tax revenue from unauthorized workers, but state governments have failed to report revenue earnings to its constituency including state unclaimed tax refunds generated by unauthorized workers.
The Immigration Policy Center reported that a study by the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) showed undocumented immigrants who were the main income wage earners and head of households did in fact paid their fair share of state and local taxes in 2010.
In 2010, the ITEP study showed that undocumented immigrants paid $8.4 billion in sales taxes, $1.6 billion in property taxes, and $1.2 billion in personal income taxes. (ITEP study http://tinyurl.com/illegalsPayTaxes). States that gained the most revenue from undocumented immigrants (UI's) paying taxes were California ($2.7 billion), Texas ($1.6 billion), Florida ($807 million), New York ($662 million), and Illinois ($499 million). They were followed by Georgia ($456 million), New Jersey ($446 million), Arizona ($433 million), and in Wisconsin ($94.4 million).
In Wisconsin, UI's paid $21,7 million in personal income, $6.1 million in property taxes and $66.5 million in sale taxes in 2010 totaling $94.4M, according to the ITEP study.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, a would be customer craving for some White Castle (WC) burgers got a big disappointment from the visiting WC craving mobile at the 400 block of W. Wisconsin Ave. The WC craving mobile is visiting Milwaukee until Saturday, but has a menu that is forcing customers to head to MickyD's for burgers.
The WC menu indicates people can buy a minimum limit of four burgers, despite a menu note that suggest for customers to ask for other options. A man ordered two jalapeño cheese burgers, but was refused service by the female order taker unless he ordered at least a set of four burgers. The man couldn't eat all four and looked around the immediate area for homeless people to possibly share the two other burgers with, if he ordered a set of four. Not locating any homeless people around to share the extra burgers, the WC craving was quashed and the would be customer headed to MickyD's for some burgers. The MickyD's burgers are not WC, but people have the option to buy one, two or 200 burgers at a time.

Biker Group Gatherings To Become Illegal Without Municipal Permit, Milwaukee Alderman Zielinski Proposing

A Milwaukee alderman announced that he will be proposing an city ordinance to prohibit motorcycle groups from assembly or public gatherings without a municipal permit.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

August 13, 2015

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Milwaukee Alderman T. Anthony Zielinski from the 14th Aldermanic District in the Bay View area announced that he will be proposing an ordinance in early September to prohibit the public assembly or gatherings of motorcycle groups without a municipal permit. Motorcycle groups will be fined up to $500, if a group gathers or rides together within the Milwaukee city limits without a permit, which the ordinance will most likely be considered unconstitutional for prohibiting the right of assembly or public gatherings.
Alderman Zielinski's proposal, if enacted by the full Milwaukee Common Council would require the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Museum bike nights and other major venues attracting bikers to get permits to assemble in addition to event permits. Local motorcycle clubs, independent riding groups, Harley-Davidson Owners groups, including the Milwaukee Outlaws would be required to get a city permit when a group gathers for meetings, business, riding or biker parties and events.
The proposed ordinance hasn't been defined or restrictions about the number of bikers considered an illegal group has been made available by Zielinski, but if Ald. Zielinski and the Milwaukee Common Council enact the proposed ordinance, they would definitely be facing a federal lawsuit challenge for prohibiting motorcycle groups to peacefully assembly or gather for riding within Milwaukee City limits.
Alderman Zielinski's proposal comes after last weekend's havoc raised by some participants of 500 riders from the sport motorcycle riding groups involved in the annual Miltown Throwdown 2015. Dozens of sport motorcycle riders managed to run stop lights, did burn-outs, rode on sidewalks, did wheelies, stunts and reckless driving endangering other drivers on roads and local streets throughout Milwaukee and neighboring communities. Some area businesses saw an increase of economic boost from the riders who spend money on food, gas and other items. The annual Miltown Throwdown event began about 5 to 7 years ago and has been organized once a year.
Police in Milwaukee treated the Miltown Throwdown 2015 event as a low priority and didn't do much to enforce traffic laws. Police hasn't released any information about how many riders were cited for traffic violations.
An accident involving a Milwaukee police sergeant driving a squad on W. McKinley Ave. and a motorcycle sports rider and a passenger brought attention to the havoc many local residents endured on August 8, including Alderman Zielinski who witness the havoc in his district and saw police doing nothing about it.

Waukesha, WI - On Tuesday, three felony charges have been filed against attorney Robin E. Chamoy, 40, of Mequon after she failed to comply with a court order in 2014 for a paternity test to determine the biological father of her 9-year-old daughter. Chamoy was charged with interfering with child custody of other parent, interfering with child custody order and making false statements to the court. If convicted on all felony counts, Chamoy is facing up to 30 years in prison and $60K in fines, or both. A cash bond of $1M in absentia was set for Chamoy, if taken into custody.
Chamoy allegedly made false statements to the court that her daughter was from her current marriage, but court documents indicate that she had lived with Kyle S. Conway, 31, for a number of years in Wisconsin and had a daughter. Conway moved to California and Chamoy was supposed to have followed, but she remained in Wisconsin and began another relationship. Chamoy later married.
Conway after nine years filed for shared custody of his daughter in 2014, but Chamoy allegedly fled the country to Israel to avoid a custody claim. Waukesha County Judge J. Mac Davis on June 29, 2015 adjudicated full custody to Conway after Chamoy failed to show up to court.
Chamoy failed to comply with a court order for a paternity test and disappeared on October 24, 2014 as well as her daughter and current husband.
A warrant for her arrest was issued on November 17, 2014.
