Lutz, FL - On Monday, a cellphone video was posted on Facebook  (FB) by Abe Garcia who was driving along U.S. Highway 41 near County Line Road and the Hillsborough-Pasco County Line when he noticed some bikers yelling at a motorist. Garcia around 5:35 p.m. began to cellphone video record the scene when a driver in the vehicle accelerated and ran over a motorcycle with a couple on it. The biker, Joe Calderazzo, a Navy Veteran with a female rider was the lead of a group of bikers. Both were reported injured, Calderazzo suffered a broken leg injury and the female suffered road rash. Garcia's FB video went viral in social media.
According to Calderazzo's family member, the driver in the vehicle was zigzagging through traffic and motorcycles in a lane where the group of bikers were using. The bikers began to yell at the driver what the (explicit) are you doing? Calderazzo told the the vehicle driver to stop and get off the vehicle when the driver accelerated and ran over Calderazzo's Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The vehicle driver, Robert Paul Vance, 31, of Land O' Lakes, Florida was later located by a Florida State Patrol (FSP) officer at a nearby fire station trying to change a flat tire. Vance was taken into custody and is facing 3 felony charges for hit-and-run, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and driving without a license/repeat offender in Pasco County. Bond for Vance was set at $40,000.
Vance apparently ran another motorcycle rider of the road earlier, according to the FSP.
Calderazzo's son posted on Facebook, "I get a call while I'm in my interview, and my dad needs me to pick him up, he just got hit. Then tells me that this guy was zipping through the other bikers and when he got to the red light, my dad and his friends started to talk to him like "the **** you doing?" And he ran over my father (lead biker on the Harley) and ran into a customs and border patrol officer, then went to change his tire at a fire station, and was immediately arrested. But right now I'm waiting for him to get out of the shower so I can take him to the hospital to check out his leg."

Waupun Inmates To Engage In Hunger Strike To Protest Illegal Prolonged Solitary Confinement In Prison System

Inmates hunger strike protest planned against illegal prolonged solitary confinement used in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections prison system as punishment for minor violations resulting from 180 to 360 days and even up to 13 years in solitary confinement of inmates resulting in psychological defects.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

May 30, 2016

Waupun, WI - Inmates at the Waupun prison (Waupun Correctional Institution-WCI) plan a hunger strike on June 10 to bring attention to what they say is the illegal prolonged solitary confinement for minor violations, which can result with 180 to 360 days and decades of isolation in a small cell 24-7 with one hour to stretch outside of the cell per day. The solitary confinement is known as Administrative Confinement (AC) and inmates can be placed on AC for long periods of isolation for falsely accusing prison staff of violations, disrespect, poor personal hygiene, loitering and the misuse of federal or state property, which inmates once accused have no recourse to appeal or challenge alleged discipline charges by prison staff. Prison staff (guards) can file inmate violations without any merits and compile alleged violations to add solitary confinement time as punishment to cover-up guard mistreatment, harassment and human rights violations of inmates, according to inmates in isolation. Prison guards are not mandated to wear body cameras in Wisconsin.
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) has learned that even state inmates who become witnesses and testify in criminal cases and are placed under the witness protection program also endure prolonged solitary confinement simply because the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WDOC) has no facility to keep witness protection inmates in a safe environment. In one case, an inmate who testified in a gang murder was placed under the state witness protection program and spend more than six years in isolation until parole.
The inmates involved in a planned hunger strike are requesting for the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate the illegal practice of AC in the state prison system and for the immediate release of inmates from AC that have been in isolation for more than one year. The United Nations has determined that prolonged solitary confinement is torture and studies have shown that it causes psychological defects, which inmates once released on parole have no access to mental health treatment and most can't adjust within society and return to prison for committing other crimes.
According to WCI inmate in Waupun, Cesar Deleón, 33, in a press release indicated that, prisoners in solitary at WCI are never allowed to go outside or see the sun. The one hour per day of recreation they're allowed out of their bathroom-sized cells is spent in an indoor recreation cage, which is often filthy with urine and feces because once a prisoner is moved to the cage, requests to be allowed access to a bathroom are ignored by staff. Prisoners in administrative confinement (AC) are not only extraordinarily isolated from general population, but also from loved ones and spiritual leaders. AC prisoners are allowed one 15 minute phone call and one 15 minute video visit per week, the calls and conferences are closely monitored and can be cut off with very little pretext. Spiritual leaders who regularly visit other prisoners are not allowed to visit the AC unit, which is a clear violation of the constitutional right to religious practice.
The WDOC holds over 100 people in administrative confinement, some have been in one form of isolation or another for decades. Last August, WDOC announced an 90 day limit on their use of segregation as punishment for all but the most severe cases. Those changes did not apply to AC prisoners though, because according to WDOC, Administrative Confinement is "non-punitive."
The prisoners are calling for an end to the practice, entirely. Their six demands include a legislative cap on the use of AC, compliance with the UN Mandela Rules on solitary confinement, increased oversight, one year limits, mental health treatment and a federal investigation of harassment by staff, which the prisoners describe as a mind control program, designed to "break and recondition" anyone staff perceives as a threat.
In one case, Albert Woodfox, 69, a member of the Black Panthers was kept in solitary confinement for 43 years, between April 1972 to February 19, 2016 when he was released from a Louisiana prison after resolving his appeal for alleged murder of a prison guard, but pled guilty to manslaughter even though there was no evidence to convict him, so he could be released from prison. His case was over turned twice on appeal and Louisiana prosecutors were trying to prosecute him for a third time.
Several public rallies are scheduled in Madison and Milwaukee to bring attention to the WDOC illegal prolonged solitary confinement under Administrative Confinement practices in the state prison system.
The Madison rally is scheduled for Friday, June 10 at 1 p.m. at the Capital building and the Milwaukee rally on Saturday, June 11 at noon at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
A replica of a small isolation cell in which inmates spent years incarcerated will be in exhibition at both rallies including families of inmates in isolation will also speak.

LULAC Wisconsin Preventing English Only Work Rule From Being Practiced By Local Businesses

The Leon's Frozen Custard business continues dialogue with LULAC Wisconsin to make sure no work related policies or rules violate employees rights.

May 26, 2016

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, LULAC of Wisconsin (LULACWI) announced that the State Director Dr. Arturo Martínez and members have continued a dialogue with Ron Schneider, the owner of Leon's Frozen Custard, 3131 S. 27th Street and his attorney to make sure the English only work rule is no longer practiced at the ice cream custard business. LULACWI also wants to make sure other work related policies don't violate employees rights and wants to send a strong message to other local businesses that English only work rules are a violation of federal labor laws, despite popular belief by people that a business owner can set his or her own rules even, if they violate federal laws.
Since the Leon's English only rule scandal broke and went viral nationally, crowds of Latinos have diminished at the business. Some believe it is just temporary that many Latinos decided not to stop at Leon's, but to many Latinos, it became personal and felt that the English only rule discriminated bilingual employees and customers. Schneider has denied that he was discriminating, but placed the English rule only to make it more efficient to run the business. The Hispanic community backlash pressured Schneider to modify the rule and allow bilingual employees to speak Spanish between them and to serve customers in Spanish when possible.

Hector Barajas, Deported Army Veteran Returning To U.S. For Citizenship Interview

Barajas founder of Deported Veterans Support House in Tijuana is working to become a naturalized U.S. Citizen and if approved, he will become the second deported Veteran to gain naturalized citizenship.

By H. Nelson Goodson

May 24, 2016

Tijuana, Baja California, México - On Tuesday, Hector Barajas, the founder of the Deported Veterans Support House (DVSH) announced that he will be allowed to return to the U.S. at the San Ysidro border crossing on June 2 for a interview to become a naturalized U.S. Citizenship and if approved, he will become the second deported Veteran to gain citizenship within 90 days of the interview. He will also become the first deported Veteran to get Veteran Administration (VA) disability benefits.
Barajas says, he will get an exam on Thursday for VA medical benefits. When contacted by Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) on Tuesday about his current status, Barajas said, "I feel like an American already, it's unfortunate a paper has to prove that."
Barajas is one of thousands of deported Veterans exiled from the U.S. for minor crimes not considered a threat to the U.S. and were unjustly deported to Mexico, South and Central America including other countries.
On Saturday, Barajas met with Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders at the border wall near Nogales who vowed if elected, he will work to bring back deported Veterans who qualify for citizenship and will stop separating families.
Last April, Daniel Torres, a deported U.S. Marine Veteran with the aid of the American Civil Liberties Union in California and the DVSH became the first deported Veteran in U.S. history to gain naturalized U.S. Citizenship.
In October 2012, Barajas along with U.S. Veteran Fabian Rebolledo, one of the multitude of Veterans that have been been deported by the U.S. Government began the DVSH in Mexico. Rebolledo also posted on Facebook in 2012, that only upon the death of a deported U.S. Veteran presently living in another country can they be fully honored and recognized by the U.S. military and government as Americans. The U.S. Government provides a plot and marker.
Rebolledo wrote that 12,000 or more U.S. Veterans have been deported by the U.S. Rebolledo, who served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne would have faced between 7 to 20 years in a federal prison, if he illegally returned to the U.S. Rebolledo stated, "...If I die today, I can be buried as an American with full military Honors...only upon my death may I be able to be an American!"
Both men, Barajas and Rebolledo including a group of other deported Veterans began the support group to provide help for other U.S. deported Veterans in the same predicament brought upon them by unjust immigration laws and the same government and country they honorably served.
In June 2015, Rebolledo was successful in overturning a felony conviction in the U.S. to a misdemeanor gaining access to become a naturalized U.S. Citizen.
On July 7, DVSH and a group of deported Veterans will request for President Barack H. Obama to grant humanitarian parole for all deported Veterans in order to gain access to full VA benefits, including treatment for PTSD. Once Veterans are deported, the U.S. government makes it difficult for them to apply for full medical benefits, because they are required to be present at a U.S. VA office when filing for those benefits.
At least 35,000 non-citizens are currently serving in the U.S. military and about 5,000 permanent alien residents enlist in the military per year.

Update: Hector Barajas confirmed on August 8, 2016 that he had received a notice from the USCIS for a scheduled appointment to take a U.S. Citizen exam for Naturalization processing on September 30, 2016 in San Diego, CA. Barajas will apply for a visa to enter the U.S. for the scheduled citizenship exam after being deported.

Crowds Of Latinos No Longer Present At Leon's Frozen Custard In Milwaukee

Days after the Leon's management revoked their English only work rule and allowed bilingual employees to speak Spanish, crowds of Latinos at the custard business have diminished.

May 24, 2016

Milwaukee, WI - Crowds of Latinos waiting in line to get some Leon's Frozen Custard have disappeared over the weekend and the boycott trend is expected to continue after it was exposed that the business owner Ron Schneider had an English only work place rule. It's a violation of labor laws to prohibit employees from speaking Spanish, except for safety and efficient operation.
About 80 percent of employees at Leon's are Latinos, according family members. Many White racist bigots in social media had encouraged Schneider to keep his English only rule, despite knowing it is a labor law violation.
Tony Baez, former CEO and Executive Director for the Council for the Spanish Speaking posted a comment on Facebook about racism and the Leon's Frozen Custard in the Darryl Morin, a business owner and a former LULAC Midwest Vice-president Facebook account on Sunday. Baez posted, "Persons like Trump and Mr. Schneider have short memories and are extremely ignorant, and sadly, yes, racist... even though they will not admit it. The language we speak is historically, socially and culturally interwined with who we are. Scholars have been saying this for centuries; it is a given fact. Only those full of hate for others will use language, and the even greater stupidity of assimilation, as a justification to hate and discriminate! We must not let the ignorance to prevail -specially among us- in this society in which we live and which we have help evolve. Ignorance and hate must be erradicated if we are to ever have peace and good will! America and the World are ready, in spite of sporadic shows of hate and discrimination, for diversity and multilingualism!"

Ron Schneider, Owner Of Leon's Frozen Custard Cancels Meeting With LULAC Over English Only Policy

At least 80 percent of the Leon's Frozen Custard employees in Milwaukee are Latinos.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

May 20, 2016

Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, Ron Schneider, the owner of Leon's Frozen Custard at 3131 S. 27th St. in Milwaukee cancelled a meeting with LULAC of Wisconsin to discuss work related policies over an English only work place policy at the business. Apparently, Schneider had a strict English only work policy at the business, which didn't allow Spanish speaking employees from speaking their native language between each other and to Spanish speaking customers. Since a Spanish speaking customer first exposed the English only policy in social media, it has gone viral and has gained national attention.
Schneider on Thursday rescinded his English only policy and is now allowing his bilingual employees to speak Spanish to each other and to customers as well when a bilingual worker is taking orders. Employees had to take orders in English and only respond in English to customers, according to a customer.
Schneider in an interview with WISN News admitted, "the rule just been that we speak English and if everyone speaks English we can all communicate...if anyone wants to call me racist..., let's go settle it the old fashion American way in the alley." To Schneider, it was a business decision and his preference for employees to speak English only, according to WISN News.
In an exclusive video interview released by Robert Miranda, the Spanish Journal Editor to Hispanic News Network U.S.A., he asked Schneider to explain his modified rule regarding English only rule. Schneider responded that employees can now speak Spanish and accommodate customers anyway they can.
Cheryl Arellano in Facebook post directed a comment to Schneider, "...I feel this is a very discriminatory rule, and I don't believe it is lawful either. I will NOT be taking my family to your business anymore. We have been loyal customers for 40+ years, but I do NOT do business with ANYONE that discriminates against anyone for their race, ethnicity or sexual orientation until you CORRECT this issue..."
FOX 6 News reported according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, English-only rules are generally considered a violation of labor law -- adding they "should be limited to the circumstances in which it is needed for the employer to operate safely and efficiently."
A female customer told HNNUSA, that one time when Schneider was serving people, a Spanish speaking man asked for some custard ice cream in broken English, Schneider told to him to step aside while he served the White clientele first. The Latina woman stepped in and confronted Schneider about the man who asked for service and he got mad, according to the customer.
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) learned on Friday that at least 80 percent of Schneider's employees are Latinos and one of the managers has worked at Leon's for 14 years is part Latina.
LULAC of Wisconsin had a meeting scheduled with Schneider on Friday to discuss work related policies including an allegation that he wouldn't allow his employees to speak Spanish. But instead Schneider cancelled the meeting to allow more time to dicuss the issue with his attorney. LULAC members were getting ready to file a request for the U.S. EEOC to investigate Leon's work related policies.
Representatives from the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) of Wisconsin released the following statement, the "Ownership informed LULAC of Wisconsin it was canceling the meeting. The reason stated for the cancellation was the need to have more time to confer with counsel."
Dr. Arturo Martinez, the State Director for LULAC also stated,
"We are disappointed today's meeting with Leon's Frozen Custard Ownership was cancelled. LULAC of Wisconsin has been working in good faith trying to resolve this issue. LULAC of Wisconsin believes that strong communities are the result of mutual respect between people in the community and those who conduct business in the community. As we have stated from the beginning, it is important for Mr. Schneider to review his personnel policies with counsel, to ensure they are in compliance with EEOC guidance and civil rights law. LULAC of Wisconsin remains committed to working towards an amicable resolution. This being said, the longer this situation continues unresolved, the more difficult it will inevitably become to find an amicable resolution."
Schneider is no longer granting interviews with the media and will be releasing a news release within days, according to employees who didn't want to be named.
Hispanic activists and community members have planned a protest and rally around 3:00 p.m. in front of Leon's on Saturday.  On Friday afternoon at least 20 people with signs showed up to protest peacefully at Leon's.
Nationally, Spanish is the second most popular language spoken other than English in the U.S. Puerto Rico, a Common Wealth of the U.S. use Spanish as their native language under the Jones Act.
Last Summer, Latinos became the largest minority population in Wisconsin surpassing the Afro-American population residing in the state.

Exclusive video interview between Ron Schneider, owner of Leon's Frozen Custard and Robert Miranda, the Spanish Journal Editor https://youtu.be/WvjEaWw-jIs

Update: Pat Dorantes, who is White and works at Leon's Frozen Custard in Milwaukee for 20 years posted a comment and I responded on WISN News Facebook posting about Leon's.

Protest At Leon's Frozen Custard In Milwaukee Planned Over English Only Policy

Social media reaction over Leon's Frozen Custard English only at workplace has sparked action by some Latino activists who had planned to protest on Saturday at the custard business.

May 19, 2016

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Ron Schneider, the owner of Leon's Frozen Custard made it official, employees can help the customer in any way they can on a sale. The English only work place policy has been rescinded by Schneider. Schneider's decision comes hours after social media and Facebook users were spreading word that Latino activists and members of the Southside community were staging a protest and boycott rally on Saturday in front of Leon's Frozen Custard in Milwaukee. The protest and rally was in response to Schneider's previous English only work place policy that prohibited Spanish speaking employees from speaking Spanish to customers during working hours.
Since the Leon's Frozen Custard English only policy scandal was also picked up and reported by the mainstream media as well, LULAC of Wisconsin stepped in and have requested for the U.S. EEOC to investigate Leon's English only work policy. According to LULAC, Schneider's comments, reasoning and explanation to media outlets seemed to violate labor laws.
LULAC of Wisconsin State Director Dr. Arturo Martinez released the following statement, "...While many of us consider this as a community institution, it was surprising when we learned of their language policy, which is in clear violation of federal labor law.  Upon reviewing the statements made by management in a video interview detailing Leon's policy, we are requesting an investigation of this policy by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  The law is clear on this issue and offers few exceptions..."

Laredo, Texas - On Wednesday, Luis Buentello, the father of a Joseph W. Nixon High School student, Alliyah D. Buentello who was awarded the title of Captain in April for the school's cheerleading team 2017 has decided to use Facebook (FB) as a forum to expose the alleged unfair treatment of his daughter by the school's administration and the Laredo Independent School District School Board (LISD) action to rescind his daughter's Captain title. Buentello posted that Adriana Ramirez, the mother of another cheerleader who failed to make it as a Captain went to the school board and convinced them to take the Captain's title from Alliyah and to redo the cheerleading Captain tryouts again. Ramirez works for the LISD.
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) checked the LISD public hearings and agendas for the last two meetings and no action was taken during the full board meetings to redo the cheerleading tryouts once again.
Buentello says, that the vice-principal from Joseph W. Nixon High School contacted him on Tuesday and told him the bad news that his daughter would no longer be the cheerleading Captain for next year and must retake the tryouts again. Buentello did not mentioned the vice-principal's reasoning to do tryouts again. The school district superintendent told Buentello that the board favored the mother's request to redo tryouts, according to Buentello.
Buentello's post has been shared on FB at least 18,000 times and many FB users in Laredo are alleging corruption by the school board and superintendent. Neither the Nixon High School Principal, the LISD Superintendent, the President of the LISD School Board have released any statements regarding Buentello's allegations that left his daughter distraught and in tears over having to redo tryouts again when she won the title of cheerleading Captain fairly.
Dr. Gérardo Cruz is the Principal at Joseph W. Nixon High School, Dr. A. Marcus Nelson is the LISD Superintendent and Dr. Cecilia May Moreno is the LISD School Board President, District 5. The rest of the LISD School Board are Hector J. Noyola, District 3, Vice President; Jesus Martinez - District 2, Secretary; Jose A. Boycott Leon's Frozen Custard For Prohibiting Employees From Speaking Spanish To Latino Customers

A social media posting is spreading around the Milwaukee area suggesting a boycott of Leon's Frozen Custard for prohibiting employees from speaking Spanish to Latino customers.

By H. Nelson Goodson

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Cheryl Arellano alleged on Facebook (FB) that Ron Schneider, the owner of the popular Southside Leon's Frozen Custard Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor at 3131 S. 27th Street is prohibiting employees from speaking Spanish to Latino customers. It even got the attention of 12th District Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy Romo-West who suggested a boycott in a FB post.
Schneider nor a representative from Leon's have responded to Arellano's allegation on FB that the business is discriminating Latinos who are one of its largest customer base and market for the custard frozen products.
It is illegal to prohibit employees from speaking Spanish, according to the federal EEOC.
Mundomax Wisconsin posted on its FB that they spoke to Schneider about his employees and he responded that he only has two employees that speak Spanish and doesn't have the staff to attend all the customers. Probably referring to Spanish speaking customers? Mundomax Wisconsin mentioned a Journal Sentinel article on its FB post, but did not cite the article.
Schneider admitted to WISN news that he has a strict policy for employees not speak Spanish to speed up sales, but fails to justify his policy after a majority of customers are Latinos. He confirmed, that he is married to a Hispanic, raising the question, does he practice the same policy at home to only speak English.
Latino immigrant right activist German Sánchez calling for a boycott as well and others are coming out in support of a Leon's boycott. Schneider seems to be stalled in the 1950's racist mentality of not welcoming immigrants as customers by sending a strong message that Spanish is not allowed in his business or even in his property, some might agrue.
Schneider told WISN that his English only policy at Leon's is not discrimination, Smh.
LULAC of Wisconsin State Director Dr. Arturo Martinez, released the following statement regarding Leon's only English work policy for its employees, "In the last 24 hours, LULAC of Wisconsin has received numerous requests to investigate the issue of workplace policy as it pertains to language at Leon's Frozen Custard located at 3131 S. 27th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  While many of us consider this as a community institution, it was surprising when we learned of their language policy, which is in clear violation of federal labor law.  Upon reviewing the statements made by management in a video interview detailing Leon’s policy, we are requesting an investigation of this policy by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  The law is clear on this issue and offers few exceptions.  In the meantime, we encourage management to review their current employment policies with counsel to bring them into compliance.  We are confident that in doing so, it will lead to a stronger business and a stronger community.”

Ghostly Shadow Appears At Front Door Of Emilio Navaira's Home

A photo taken by a neighbor across the Emilio Navaira home captures what appears to be a black shadow of a cowboy at the front door. But, it could have been a news media person knocking at the door.

May 17, 2016

New Braunfels, Texas - On Tuesday, a photo taken by a neighbor who lives across from the late Tejano style singer Emilio H. Navaira III, 53, has gone viral on social media. The photo was taken of some members of the media standing across from the Navaira residence and the neighbor posted photos that included a closeup of the front door on Facebook claiming a black shadow of a cowboy appears standing on the front door.
Another neighbor who lives about a block away, Alex Stephenson got a copy of the photos and posted them on his Facebook account. Stephenson posted, "...Their neighbor across the street just posted this and I have goosebumps Ray Jones!!!!!!! He said nobody was at their door at the time, he was taking a picture of the media being out there but look at the front door!!!!!!! There's a dark shadow, even looks like he's wearing a cowboy hat!!!!! Tell me this isn't Emilio guarding his house and family....."
Many Navaira Tejano fans who have seen the photos are speculating it is the ghostly image of Navaira standing guard in front of his residence.
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) has received copies of the images and posted them to allow the fans and the public to judge for themselves.
According to recent posting in social media, an unidentified media member might have been knocking at the door of the Navaira residence when a neighbor across the street took a photo and appeared like a shadowy figure at the doorway. It might not be what Facebook users and Navaira's fans had thought to be, Emilio himself standing at the doorway. But Jones confirmed, that no one was at the door when he took the photo.
Navaira was found on Monday unconscious and not breathing around 8:20 p.m. by family members, according to the New Braunfels Police Department. First responders attempted life saving measures, but were unsuccessful in resuscitating Navaira. Navaira was later pronounced deceased at the Resolute Health Hospital. Police in a preliminary investigation indicated that Navaira died from natural causes, but the Comal Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Apparently, Emilio suffered a massive heart attack, according to family and friends.

Editor's note: Apparently Alex Stephenson has removed the Facebook post about Emilio H. Navaira III alleged ghostly image due to accusations that it was just a hoax and were victimizing the Navaira family. The person knocking at the door is believed to be a friend of the Navaira family who was later interviewed by media. Others have alleged that a person deliberately walked to the front door of the Navaira residence for the photo taken by Ray Jones.
Both Stephenson and Ray Jones have not disputed the hoax allegations against them.

Funeral services set:

Visitation for Emilio H. Navaira III will be at the Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E. Houston St., San Antonio, TX 78219, on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 W. Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

Jessie Rodriguez, WI Republican State Representative Claims "Deeply Personal Experience" Of Prior Illegal Alien Status

Wisconsin anti-immigrant bill SB 533 recently signed into law by Governor Walker was co-sponsor by Republican State Representative Jessie Rodriguez who was an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador before gaining legal status in the U.S.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

May 17, 2016

Madison, WI - Last week, Wisconsin Republican State Representative Jessie Rodriguez (actual name: Yesenia Eldermira Rodriguez) from Franklin released a statement about her support for SB 533 (Wisconsin Act 374) that banned state county governments and towns from issuing local identification cards to undocumented immigrants. Rep. Rodriguez co-sponsored SB 533 and says that it would prevent Milwaukee County from issuing such ID's to undocumented immigrants, but the City of Milwaukee can create City ID's for local residents.
Rep. Rodriguez also criticized State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa, a Democrat from Milwaukee for exposing Rodriguez' illegal status when she first entered the U.S. with her parents illegally from El Salavador when she was just a child. Rep. Zamarripa first exposed Rodriguez' illegal status and made reference to her support for SB 533 during the State Assembly session in March, which is controlled by the GOP. SB 533 passed both the State Assembly and the State Senate, which is also controlled by the GOP.
Rep. Rodriguez didn't admit she was an undocumented immigrant in her released statement to El Conquistador Newspaper, but only criticized Zamarripa by saying, "the immigrant experience is not a thought experience for me...My coming to America as a young girl was a deeply personal experience for me at a time of great uncertainty in my life. Quite frankly, it's a bit off-putting to be lectured by a legislator who barely speaks Spanish that my views are somehow anti-immigrant." Rep. Rodriguez most likely can't speak fluent Spanish either and criticized Rep. Zamarripa for at least speaking Spanish.
Rep. Rodriguez failed once again to address her prior undocumented status in the U.S. and has yet to admit she was an actual illegal alien herself before gaining legal status. Rodriguez stated that she is not an anti-immigrant herself, but has failed to support a United Farm Workers leader César E. Chávez optional holiday for state employees and has refused to support Rep. Zamarripa's fight against the Republican bigoted and racist anti-immigrant bills that have been proposed and the recent passage of SB 533 by both state legislative chambers.
Rep. Rodriguez support for SB 533 only shows that she continues to stand with the GOP bigoted and racist movement against undocumented immigrants including from El Salvador, Mexico, South and Central Americans residing in the State of Wisconsin.
On Monday, members of Voces de la Frontera, a workers and immigrant rights organization held a protest and called for a boycott of Menards located in West Milwaukee. The protest was targeted at the owner of Menards who is one of the top campaign contributors for Republican Governor Scott Walker who signed SB 533 into law.

Za'layia Jenkins Has Died From Complications Of Gunshot Wound To The Head

9-year-old was hit in the head by a stray bullet while watching TV at home.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

May 16, 2016

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner confirmed that Za'layia Jenkins, 9, died around 5:00 p.m. at Children's Hospital from complications of a gunshot wound that she suffered in the head from a stray bullet while she watched TV on May 5. She was declared legally brain dead by a doctor and will remain in a ventilator while her family decides, if they will donate her organs.
Family members had hoped that she would survive, but Jenkins succumbed to the critical injury.
According to police, Jenkins was critically injured by a stray bullet when it struck her in the head near the 1500 block of W. Meinecke Avenue in the Northside of Milwaukee. Several groups of suspects began to exchange gunfire with each other with rifles and handguns near Jenkins home. In that incident, 40 spent shell casings from various calibers were recovered.
Jenkins would have turned 10 on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, families have been left with the decision to donate organs from legally declared brain dead victims and the victims could remain in a ventilator for as long as it takes to find a recipient. The hospitals performing organ transplants cash in on the organs and profit by medical expenses from organ recipients, but families who donate organs from a deceased family member don't even get funeral expenses from organ recipients or those who actually benefit from the organ donations.

Oconomowoc, WI - Apparently, the new management of the Hideaway Bar & Grill located on Okauchee Lake has decided to use the Sinaloa drug Cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera escape for its theme during a Cinco de Mayo event on May 5. The Hideaway Bar & Grill patrons are mostly White Republicans and the bar has held events for Republican candidates as well.
Some might argue, that using El Chapó as the main theme for the Hideaway Bar's Cinco de Mayo event only helps to spread hate and bigotry by Donald J. Trump, a candidate for the Republican nomination for president who believed and advocated that Mexico sents its criminals and rapists to the U.S.
It seems that the owner and the White patrons of the Hideaway Bar don't know the history of Cinco de Mayo. Today, the Hideaway Bar has added a criminal theme for Cinco de Mayo day celebrations while in other parts of the nation, the event has become more commercialized in the U.S. and adds to the contemporary recognition of the Mexican-American culture, its roots and traditional foods, music and dances.
The Cinco de Mayo is also celebrated and recognized for the May 5, 1862 Battle of Puebla in Mexico. A poorly equiped army of Mexican peasants defeated the mighty French army, which wanted to form an independent French empire in Mexico.
Did you know, if the Battle in Puebla Mexico didn't happened the French would have made their way to the U.S. and help the South (Confederates) during the Civil War and they might have won the war with their help. We would probably have slavery today. Not to many people know, it was the Mexican peasants and army that defeated the French army. The Mexicans had won a great victory that kept Napoleon III and French army from supplying the confederate rebels for another year, allowing the northern union forces (U.S.) to build the greatest army the world had ever seen.
The grand U.S. army smashed the Confederates at Gettysburg just 14 months after the Battle of Puebla, essentially ending the Civil War, which united the nation under President Abraham Lincoln. It might be a historical stretch to credit the survival of the United States to those brave 4,000 Mexicans who faced an army twice as large in 1862.

Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, hundreds of people marched and rallied for immigration reform including former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) a pro-immigrant candidate for the U.S. Senate who is running against Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) who is considered anti-immigrant. Feingold told the hundreds of pro-immigrant people at the rally just outside of the Milwaukee County Courthouse that if elected, he will push for comprehensive immigration reform for every undocumented immigrant in the U.S. today.
The 10th Anniversary of the May 1st immigrant and worker rights march was sponsored by Voces de la Frontera, an immigrant and worker rights organization. According to VDLF, more than 20 cities around the country held immigrant and worker rights marches and actions to reject the wave of hatred and racism directed towards immigrants coming from the national political debate. In Milwaukee, hundreds of people marched calling for the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold DAPA and DACA+ (an expansion of deportation protections to parents and Dreamers), to urge the City of Milwaukee to create local identification cards, and to begin mobilizing the vote against hatred and bigotry.
