San Bernardino, California - On Wednesday, Larry Hernández, 38, a popular Mexican narco ballad singer waived extradition at a San Bernardino County Superior Court to face multiple felony charges in Newberry County, South Carolina. A San Bernardino County judge ruled on Wednesday that Hernández could be extradited immediately after he waived extradition, according to court records.
Hernández was charged in Newberry County with kidnapping, assault and battery by mob beating in the 3rd-degree, according to a press release by the Newberry Police Department.
Last Friday, Hernández was taken into custody at the Ontario Airport around 2:39 p.m. by authorities as he attempted to board a flight. Hernández was booked in the San Bernardino County Jail and is being held without bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, California, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office.
Hernández was arrested in connection with the August 16 alleged kidnapping and beating of José Andrade, a dance promoter from Newberry associated with Lisandro Velásquez, a dance promoter from Illinois. Andrade was the kidnapped victim and Velásquez was forced to get the rest of the owed money for the Hernandez gig in Newberry, according to the criminal complaint.
According to the Newberry County District Attorney's Office criminal complaint, Velásquez paid $14,000 of a $30,000 contract agreement to perform at a dance held at a skating rink. Velásquez couldn't pay the remaining balance so members of the band with the knowledge of Hernández held an associate of Velásquez. Andrade was held against his will until the full payment was paid by Velásquez. Andrade was wrapped in plastic and beaten by band members. Police was able to get video surveillance footage from a hallway of the Hampton Inn where it showed Andrade being beaten as he was taken to a room by the suspects. He was able to escape after he was left alone in the room and notified Newberry police, according to the criminal complaint.
Jesús Evan Solis, 25, of Rio Grande, Texas was also charged with three felony counts for kidnapping, assault and battery by mob in the 3rd-degree along with Hernández. Solis was taken into custody on September 25 in Colorado and is being held without bail. Solis is expected to be extradited to S. Carolina to face charges as well. Solis and Hernández are accused of beating up the kidnapped victim. Two other suspects were also implicated in the case, but have not been identified, according to Newberry police.

Mexico City, Mexico, D.F. - On Thursday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto confirmed during a five hour meeting with the parents and family members of the 43 Ayotzinapa missing students that he will establish a special federal investigative unit to locate missing persons and to investigate what happened to the missing 43 Ayotzinapa students. Public pressure, protests and a debate on Thursday in the federal Mexican Senate led by Senator Layda Sansores from the Labor Party has finally forced a complete investigation into what happened to the missing Ayotzinapa students.
The former Mexican federal Attorney General, Jesús Murillo Karam has been criticized for fabricating and lying that the Ayotzinapa students were killed and burned at a garbage dump in Cocula in September 26 - 27, 2014. A major cover-up by the Nieto administration had been alleged and allegations by a report released by the InterAmerica Commission for Human Rights indicated that 144 witnesses testified that the Mexican military and Federal Police were also involved in the murder, kidnapping and the missing 43 Ayotzinapa students.
Senator Sansores on Thursday during a presentation on the Senate floor called for an investigation into whether the military and Federal Police were involved and to establish commissions to investigate all political and government officials who attempted to cover-up the military and Federal Police involvement in the Ayotzinapa case.
More than 70 suspects have been arrested in the Ayotzinapa case including the mayors of Iguala and Cocula in the state of Guerrero and corrupt members of the municipal police from both towns. Also members of the Guerrero Unidos, a criminal organization have been arrested in connection with the missing Ayotzinapa students.  But no high ranking military or Federal Police supervisors have been arrested or charged in the case, according to Senator Sansores. Sansores and now President Nieto are pushing to discover the truth of what happened in Ayotzinapa. Sansores has accused Nieto of knowing and attempting to cover-up the truth, but year long public protests around Mexico has forced Nieto to act and the federal Senate to finally debate the Ayotzinapa case.

Mexico, D.F. - During a press conference on Tuesday, Mexican federal Senators including Senator Layda Sansores from the Labor Party called for a floor debate to discuss whether the Mexican military and Federal Police were involved on September 26, 2014 in the shooting, murder and disappearance of 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa. Donor Funds For The Scott Walker Campaign For President Dried Up And Ends Bid

Presidential candidate Walker suspends bid for the Republican nomination for President after falling less than 1% in the CNN/ORC poll and donor funding dries up.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

September 21, 2015

Madison, WI - On Monday, as first reported by Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that the Walker campaign would end, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) just after 5:00 p.m. announced that he decided to suspend his bid for the Republican nomination for president in 2016 after falling to less 1% in the CNN/ORC Republican poll. Also, unable to collect donations and the donor funds for the Walker campaign just dried out after the GOP members around the country rejected him after flip-flopping on immigration reform and other issues.
Walker just couldn't convince conservative American voters that he was the right person to lead the country. His anti-immigrant policies in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC) corruption scandal of awarding $124.4M of taxpayer funds to failed companies and unable to conduct a review of staff and accountability of those companies added to his failed presidential campaign. The Walker administration including Wisconsin Lieutenant Rebecca Kleefish (R) and the Republican controlled legislature were criticized for not adequately funding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that helps provide funds for the Latino and Afro-American communities development in Milwaukee.
Walker and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development inability to surpass the first quarter in 2011 job creation and employment statistics of 1.9% position of 17 nationally in the last four years did not help the campaign, stats were reported by the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics. Wisconsin recent position only reached the 30 position at 1.7% in the first quarter of 2015, not surpassing the 2011 job creation and putting people back to work stats.
Walker's deception of providing jobs as promised in 2011 and just reaching more than half of his promise to create 250,000 jobs on his first term fell short.  Walker failed as a job creator nationally and doesn't support equal pay for women.
Walker attempted to call for an end to federal workers unions, but failed to gain any support and working conservative Americans rejected him.
In the spotlight too is Reverend Joe Angel Medina, chairman of the Wisconsin Assembly of Conservative Hispanics, a political GOP group. Medina is being criticized by fellow Latino Republicans and the Wisconsin Hispanic community for standing with Walker's anti-immigrant stand, no in-state tuition for DREAMers, no driver licenses for the undocumented immigrants, Walker as a plaintiff to a Texas federal lawsuit to stop DACA/DAPA to legalize DREAMERS including their parents and Walker's belief that children born in the U.S. from undocumented parents should not be entitled to a citizenship birthright.

Editor's note: Governor Walker in Wisconsin evaded questions about his political views, but when he entered in the national level, he had to answer to questions and his incompetance, lack of knowledge of issues and ignorance of the plight of working people including the absence of a living wage in the state was noticed by American voters.

Walker's speech to end campaign for the Republican nomination for president

As a kid, I was drawn to Ronald Reagan because he was a Republican and a conservative. But most of all, I admired him because of his eternal optimism in the American people.

That thought came into my head when we were all standing at the Reagan Library last Wednesday. President Reagan was good for America because he was an optimist.

Sadly, the debate taking place in the Republican party today is not focused on that optimistic view of America. Instead, it has drifted into personal attacks.

In the end, I believe that voters want to be for something and not against someone. Instead of talking about how bad things are, we want to hear about how we can make them better for everyone.

We need to get back to the basics of our party:

We are the party that believes that people create jobs - not the government - and the best way to grow the economy is to get the government out of the way and build it from the ground up.

We are the party that believes that the way to measure success in government is by how many people are no longer dependent on the government - because we ultimately believe in the dignity of work.

We are the party that believes that a strong military leads to peace through strength and that will protect our children and future generations - we believe that good will triumph over evil.

We are the party that believes in the American people - and not the federal government.

These ideas will help us win the election next fall and - more importantly - these ideas will help make our country great again.

To refocus the debate will require leadership. While I was sitting in church yesterday, the pastor's words reminded me that the Bible is full of stories about people who were called to be leaders in unusual ways.

Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately.

I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to consider doing the same so the voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive conservative alternative to the current frontrunner. This is fundamentally important to the future of the party and - ultimately - to the future of our country.

This is a difficult decision as so many wonderful people stepped up to support our efforts. Tonette and I are so very thankful for the many outstanding volunteers and the excellent staff who helped us throughout the campaign. You have become like family to us.

And speaking of family, I want to personally thank my wife Tonette - who has been a rock - as well as our amazing sons Matt and Alex. I thank my parents, my brother David and his family - and all of our other family and friends for their love and support.

Most of all, I want to thank God for His abundant grace. Win or lose, it is more than enough for any of us.

Thank you.

Ralph Lauren Discontinued Use Of Thunderbird Logo On T-shirts Similar To UFW Aztec Eagle

Keene, CA - The Ralph Lauren Corporation, a $7.6B NYC fashion designer no longer distributes or sales its Thunderbird design logo t-shirt similar to the United Farm Workers (UFW) organization on the fashion market. In November 2013, the UFW launched a Facebook campaign to force the Ralph Lauren Corp. to stop exploiting the UFW Aztec eagle logo and even hired attorneys to challenge the multi-millionaire fashion designer Ralph Lauren in regards to an alleged logo copy right infringement. UFW attorneys threaten to file a copy right infringement lawsuit against Ralph Lauren.
Ralph Lauren Corp. has not released any information concerning the controversy over their Thunderbird logo t-shirt and the alleged Aztec eagle copy right infringement.
Arturo S. Rodriguez, the President of the UFW organization admitted to Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) while in Milwaukee, WI in July 2015 that the Ralph Lauren designer had apparently stopped making and distributing the Thunderbird logo t-shirt, but Rodriguez wouldn't go on record officially and didn't provide further details and asked HNNUSA to sent an e-mail to his UFW executive office requesting information. HNNUSA has attempted multiple times to contact Rodriguez via e-mail and through the UFW Facebook (FB) to get an official update and information about the controversial Aztec eagle logo copy right infringement allegation, but Rodriguez has not responded. The UFW still has its controversial Ralph Lauren Thunderbird and Aztec eagle logo issue posted on FB, but no update has been included by the UFW org.
The Ralph Lauren Corp. could not be reached for comment.
HNNUSA did a search on the fashion market and Internet to see, if the Thunderbird logo t-shirt similar to the UFW Aztec eagle was still available to consumers in the U.S., it was not available by Ralph Lauren. But, the controversial Thunderbird logo Ralph Lauren t-shirt can still be available on Amazon and several Internet websites when Googled.

"El Gil" Taken Into Custody In Connection With 43 Ayotzinapa Missing Students

Mexican federal authorities arrested wanted fugitive on Wednesday in Taxco de Alarcón.

By H. Nelson Goodson
September 20, 2015

Mexico City, Mexico D.F. - On Friday, the federal Attorney General's Office (PGRF) in Mexico City announced that Gildardo López Astudillo, aka, "Gil" was taken into custody on Wednesday at Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero in connection with the 43 Ayotzinapa missing students. Astudillo was wanted for kidnapping and organized crime. He allegedly participated in the September 26-27, 2014 murders of six people, including 4 students, 25 injured students and with the disappearance of 43 Ayotzinapa students.
Last November, Jesús Murillo Karam, the federal Mexican Attorney General (PGRF) confirmed that Astudillo had received orders from former Iguala Mayor José Luis Abarca Velázquez to eliminate the missing Ayotzinapa students. Astudillo texted Sidronio Casarrubias Salgado, the leader of the Guerreros Unidos (GU), a criminal organization that the students detained by corrupt Iguala and Cocula municipal police were members of a rival crime group called, "Los Rojos." Salgado knew that Abarca Velázquez and his wife, María de los Ángeles Pineda Villa wanted the students liquidated at all costs so, Salgado ordered his man to kill the students and to get rid of all DNA evidence.
Karam had claimed that the 43 missing students were tortured, killed and then burned at a Cocula municipal dump and their ashes discarded at a river nearby. The PGR's version of what happened has been disputed and local municipal police officers from Cocula and Iguala were arrested in the kidnapping, killing and missing of 43 Ayotzinapa students.
Karam stated in November that Cocula Mayor César Miguel Peñaloza Santana, former Iguala Mayor Abarca Velázquez, Pineda Villa, Salomón Pineda, aka, "El Molón" and Salgado were taken into custody, including 74 GU suspects, which 22 are Iguala municipal police officers and 14 other Cocula municipal police officers. Ten additional warrants were issued for other alleged criminals connected to the student massacre.
Former Governor of Guerrero Ángel Heladio Aguirre Rivero resigned in October 2014 after learning his political PRD party was moving to oust him in wake of the unrest and protests seeking justice for the missing students. Rivero's campaign for Governor was financed by the GU and was accused of attempting to cover up the student massacre. Rivero has not been charged of any crime.
The federal government investigation at the time indicated that the 43 missing students were turned over to the GU by corrupt Iguala and Cocula municipal police officers. Afterwards, they were taken to the Cocula municipal garbage dump and killed, then burned, according to three GU suspects, Jhonathan Osorio Gómez, aka, "El Jona," Agustín García Reyes, aka, "El Chereje" and Patricio Reyes Landa, aka, "El Pato."
New allegations have been raised that the Ayotzinapa students were ordered killed after they took a bus loaded with drugs or drug money from the Guerreros Unidos and local police along with members of the GU including Mexican military and federal police were involved in the murders, kidnappings and the disappearance of the students. So far, no federal police or military personnel have been taken into custody or connected to the missing students.
The latest allegation suggests that four laborers revealed that they were tortured by Mexican feds and forced to say that the 43 Ayotzinapa students were burned at the Cocula municipal dump, but evidence indicates the 43 missing students had to be cremated at a funeral home equipped with a crematorium.
The man made fire at the Cocula dump included garbage debris, tires and plastic bottles, which was not sufficient fuel to cremate the bodies as was reported by the PGR.

Milwaukee's Latino And Afro-American Communities Lack Adequate CDBG Funding For Growth And Development

Walker's administration, Kleefish and Republican controlled legislature's failure to adequately fund CDBG!

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

September 17, 2015

Madison, WI - It's unfortunate that community based organizations in both Milwaukee's Southside Latino community and Northside Afro-American community including Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and the Milwaukee Common Council remain quiet about Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's administration, Lieutenant Rebecca Kleefish, and the Republican controlled legislature's failure to adequately fund the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
The State of Wisconsin is facing a $2.2B budget deficit, lack of job growth and no living wage.
The first quarter of 2015, WI ranked 39th in job creation at 1.72%, but not surpassing the first quarter of 2011 at 1.9%. In the last four years, there has been less job creation per quarter in the state, since 2011, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
What happened to employment growth in Wisconsin in the last four years? HNNUSA found that in 2011, Governor Walker had appointment Manuel "Manny" Pérez as Secretary of the Wisconsin Development of Workforce Development (DWD). Shown in a graph published by the Cap Times with stats from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Wisconsin in 2011 at 20th position for job creation at the end of Governor Jim Doyle's (D) term, then it improved briefly to 17 position as best in the nation at the growth rate of 1.9%. This rate not only exceeded the national rate for the same period, but also has not been able to be exceeded by the State of Wisconsin in the last year's. Then it fell precipitously to 38th position, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the latest stats graph published by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The current improvement in the 30's -while an improvement- it is a small improvement compared with the 17 best in the nation during the first quarter in 2011. Walker promised that 250,000 jobs would be created during his first term, but only achieved more than half of what he promised.
In 2011 during the first quarter, Secretary Pérez was part of Walker's Cabinet. Sources on condition of anonymity at the DWD confirmed to HNNUSA that Secretary Pérez, the first Hispanic moderate Republican in Walkers cabinet, implemented successful approaches to help individuals from all walks of life without using any politics to get back to work, he was also very strict with financial controls, and ethics and he supported workforce and economic development with a passion and sincerity, according to the DWD sources.
Under DWD Secretary Pérez in 2011, Wisconsin jobs creation and job employment reached 1.9%, which has not been met nor surpassed by anyone Walker has appointed as DWD Secretary in the last four years. Former DWD Secretary Pérez respectfully gained the reputation as the "People's Secretary," DWD sources say.
Unfortunately, Governor Walker accepted DWD Secretary Pérez resignation. If Wisconsin had continued to see employment growing under Secretary Pérez, Walker would have had a chance to lock down the Republican nomination for President, but instead has lost his appeal in the race for job creation and has been bumped from a front runner in the Iowa polls to 10% this month and ending with less than 2%.
Walker was declared a loser in the latest CNN Republican debates by the Washington Post, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and WISN News 12 including others. Governor Walker will most likely end his bid for the Republican nomination for President.
The Walker campaign is expected to announce a major shake-up (removal or terminations) of key campaign staff members this weekend, but the end of the Walker bid for President is eminent.
Pérez could not be reached for comment.

Female Florida Felon Had 3,714 Swords, Knives And Fake Body Parts

Probation and parole officers and Hernando County Sheriff deputies discovered 3,714 swords, knives and fake body parts inside a home of a wanted female felon.

Brooksville, FL - On Tuesday, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) reported that Nickcole Ellen Fay Dykema, 47, was taken into custody on a felony warrant for a probation violation. Both probation and parole officers and Hernando County Sheriff deputies served a warrant and Dykema resisted arrested. A non-lethal weapon (bean bag round) was used to subdue Dykema, but failed and they had to use a taser to take her into custody after she attempted to attack the officers with multiple swords.
The HCSO in a press release stated, that they found at least 500 swords and knives in a room and other rooms contained the same amount of weapons including fake body parts. During the confrontation inside the home, Dykema grabbed a machete or sword like weapon and almost struck Deputy Sergeant Chris Calderón in the face by just missing him inches away from his face.
Several deputies were reported injured while removing the blades and swords from Dykema's home. "It is believed that Dykema "booby trapped" many of the bladed weapons, blankets, floors inside, and even the yard outside the residence, causing injury to our personnel when dismantling and/or removing these items," the HCSO reported on Thursday.

Dykema was charged with

● Probation Violation (warrant), No Bond
● Property Damage/Criminal Mischief, Bond - $500
● Probation Violation (warrant), No Bond

Local Hispanic Businesses In Milwaukee's Southside Targeted By Hate Mail

Multiple Hispanic businesses have been taunted and targeted by anti-immigrant hate mail around the Southside.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

September 16, 2015

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) has learned that multiple Southside Hispanic businesses have been targeted by anti-immigrant hate mail. Most of the businesses recently hit with hate mail, Campuzano Alterations, La Mexicana, Fiesta Salón & Spa,  Centro de Sonido and Taquería Aranda are owned by Mexican descent business owners. Voces de la Frontera (VDLF), an immigrant and workers rights organization have received multiple hate mail, according Primitivo Torres from VDLF.
The hate mail message is delivered by the U.S. Post Office in a Post Card form, so who ever handles the mail at a local or statewide post office should have noticed it, but regardless it was still delivered. It seems that the hate mail delivered to local Southside Hispanic businesses could be considered a federal hate crime by all standards.
The latest mailing of the hate mail seems to be sent by the same person and mentioned Veterans, a donation and refers to immigrants as "illegal Mexican Trash."
Part of the hate message reads, "Americans die for their liberty, their freedom, and their country - Not for illegal Mexican trash! Deport all of them- No Amnesty! No Jobs, No Sanctuary."
The person sending the anti-immigrant hate mail is very ill informed and doesn't realize that thousands of undocumented and legalized immigrants have served or continue to serve in the U.S. military today. Hundreds of those serving in the military have been deported for a misdemeanor or minor felonies to their country of origin and have been denied their Veterans earned medical and compensation benefits. (Source: Deported Veterans Support House in Facebook)
The business owners notified police of the hate mail and are investgating. The Postal Service didn't provide any help, according to the person who released and provided the post cards with the hate messages to HNNUSA.
Recent anti-immigrant sentiment, racists remarks, hate hysteria and talk about ending U.S. birthright to children born in the country to undocumented parents by Donald J. Trump, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker including 13 other candidates for the Republican nomination for President has sparked recent increase of hate against Hispanics in the U.S.

Gunfire By Waco Police Killed Nine Bikers At Twin Peaks In Texas

Sources in law enforcement in Texas have indicated that nine bikers killed at the Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco in May was as a result of gunfire by Waco police.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

September 14, 2015

Waco, Texas - Law enforcement sources in Texas have indicated that nine bikers killed in Waco at the Twin Peaks Restaurant parking lot on May 17 was as a result from gunfire by Waco police, according to forensic and video evidence withheld by the corrupt McLennan County D.A.'s Office, including Abel Reyna, the McLennan District Attorney himself and Waco police. All forensic and video evidence from the Twin Peaks biker massacre has been withheld and the release of video could result in criminal charges against Waco police officers and a Waco police detective that fabricated similar criminal charges against 170 bikers and several women to cover-up the biker massacre.
The McLennan County judges, Waco police, the Waco Mayor and the McLannan County District Attorney Reyna are known for their family ties in governing, political control, keeping the feds and the Texas State Attorney General's Office from taking over the biker cases resulting in allegations of corruption and a major cover-up of the Twin Peaks massacre.
The biker criminal warrant affidavits by Waco Police Detective Manuel Chavez illegally claimed without probable cause that all of the bikers detained engage in organized crime and were bonded by Justice of the Peace Walter H. Peterson who signed the warrants by Chavez and set illegal bonds of $1M each for the 177 arrested. Peterson can not preside over felony cases (only misdemeanor cases without jail time or bonds and civil cases up to $10k in liability), sign felony warrants or even set bonds, according to Texas state law.
Abel Reyna, the McLennan County District Attorney, Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman and other McLennan County judges knew that Peterson couldn't sign felony warrants and set excessive bonds, but kept quiet and proceeded to hold bikers on frivolous charges.
Reyna was able to have McLennan County Judges put a gag order for victims (bikers) charged and their defense attorneys not to talk about the pending cases. Ballistic forensic and video evidence was withheld from attorneys and the public including media since May. Attorneys for the majority of defendants have been filing for the forensic and video evidence to be release in order to get a fair trial.
The Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents representing most of the bikers charged confirmed that they will be filing a joint civil rights lawsuit against the Waco Police Department and McLennan County District Attorney Reyna for filing frivolous criminal charges against members (bikers) of the Confederation.

The following nine victims were killed by Waco police during the Twin Peaks Restaurant biker altercation between the Bandidos and Cassacks M.C.s in Waco, Texas.

● Daniel Raymond Boyett, 44, shot in the head. (Cossacks M.C.)

● Wayne Lee Campbell, 43, shot in the head. (Cossacks M.C.)

● Richard Mathew Jordan Jr., 31, shot in the head.

● Richard Vincent Kirshner Jr., 47. (Cossacks M.C.)

Alderman Donovan Claims MPD Didn't Invite Him To Press Conference At His District

Alderman Donovan criticized the Milwaukee Police Department and its leadership for not inviting him to a press conference on his own Aldermanic 8th District.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Alderman Bob Donovan from the 8th Aldermanic District criticized the Milwaukee Police Department's leadership including Police Chief Edward Flynn for his exclusion from a press conference in his own district. 2nd District Milwaukee Police Station Captain Alfonso Morales, Alderman José G. Pérez from the 12th Aldermanic District along with local Milwaukee attorney Michael Hupy held a press conference in the 8th Aldermanic District to announce a $25,000 dollar reward offered by Hupy for information leading to arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects involved in the August 9 mass shooting that injured Alfredo Bautista, 10. More than 40 gunshots were fired around 2:15 a.m. and Bautista was wounded once inside his home at the 2000 block of W. Lapham St. Police reported that Bautista's home might not have been the target in August.
Ald. Donovan became disappointed that he was not included in the conference to announce a $25K reward being offered and posted on his Facebook account for Milwaukee Mayor, "I am the Milwaukee alderman who is on the front line of the war against crime. I held a press conference in this street just a day after the August shooting. Yet, the Milwaukee Police Department's leadership didn't feel it was necessary to invite me to today's press conference. That says a lot about the department's leadership."
The 2nd District Milwaukee Police Station in the Southside located at the 300 block of W. Lincoln Ave. is having an Open House fromm noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, was Ald. Donovan invited too? Donovan didn't say he was invited to the Open House.

Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, Milwaukee Common Council Licensing Committee (MCCLC) voted to begin licensing and regulating companies towing vehicles from private lots. People could pay a minimum of $50 to get their vehicles released to towing truck drivers on the spot before their vehicles can get towed from the lot. Also, the MCCLC decided to use a single license for junk dealers, scrape haulers and others.
The new City towing licensing regulation ordinance goes before the full Common Council for a vote on September 22, 2015.
Scrupulous towing companies targeted vehicles in private lots and towed them without police involvement and charged victims from $100 to 300 on the spot to release vehicles or more than $400 to get it release from a towing lot pound.
Wisconsin state law allowed towing companies to tow vehicles without a license and set a limit in charging for towing, but some companies over charged victims.
In March, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. reported that hundreds of Latinos in a weekly basis were subject to excessive towing costs for parking at a private lot located at 1247 S. César E. Chávez Drive. The private towing company ABYSS Towing used a look out spotter parked on the street from Monday to Saturday and kept an eye on who parks in the lot and if that person goes somewhere else to shop. Once the spotter can confirm the person is not doing business with the businesses that allow parking for their customers, then a tow truck is alerted and it comes to tow the vehicle within minutes.
Sometimes a flatbed tow truck is used, in that case, they tow one vehicle at a time and then park it a couple of blocks away. Once three vehicles are secured for towing, they are all towed at the same time.
If a victim can catch the tow truck driver at the scene and doesn't want the vehicle towed, the victim has to pay $200 in cash and some cases they wouldn't even get a receipt from a tow truck driver. If the tow truck gets to take the vehicle to a private tow lot, the victim will most likely have to pay between $150, $180, $250 and up to $350, not including storage costs.
In a regular day of towing, ABYSS Towing could clear more than $6,000 for towing at least 20 vehicles at $300 to $350 each.
A State law (2013 WI ACT 76) took effect October 2014 allowing anyone to tow a vehicle without being bonded or licensed creating a scamming operation for profits. Under the 2014 state towing law, private towing companies are required to charge a maximum of $105 per regular tow and $20 per day for storage.

It's cheaper to get towed by the City from the street, including storage compared to ABYSS Towing, a private contractor getting towed from a private property. Checkout what the City of Milwaukee charges for towing, according to their Web site.

 ● The towing fee is $105.00

 ● The flatbed towing fee is $125.00, when a flatbed tow is required

●The relocation moving fee is $25.00 for uninsured drivers

●The outdoor vehicle storage fee is $20.00/calendar day

●The indoor vehicle storage fee is $30.00/calendar day

Sturgis, South Dakota - On early Tuesday, the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis was destroyed by fire just after midnight, the Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department reported. Multiple fire departments from Piedmont, Vale, Whitewood, Sturgis and Fort Meade battle to contain the blaze.
No one was reported hurt, but the blaze spread to nearby buildings as well. The lack of fire hydrants in the property made it difficult to get water supplies to fight the blaze. Water had to be brought in from neighboring areas.
The popular biker Full Throttle Saloon is owned by Michael Ballard and is featured in a cable TV show about bikers.
The cause of the fire in under investigation.
