Chicago, Illinois - Elpidio "Juan" Contreras, 55, former host of the popular "Show de Juan Contreras" will appear before a Cook County Court on March 10 in the ongoing case for one felony count for predatory sexual assault of a child under 13 (May 2013). In June 2013, Contreras was also charged with a second felony count of aggravated sexual assault of child. He has pled not guilty on both cases. A bond was set at $250,000 for one count and $400,000 on a second count for the second sexual assault case in addition to an earlier bond of $500,000 for a felony count of predatory sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, according to Cook County court records. Contreras remains in jail unable to post bond.
The second felony count was added after a young girl saw a news broadcast of his arrest for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. The second girl told her parents that Contreras had also sexually assaulted her in several different occasions in the Summer of 2007 and then in 2008 when she was just 8-years-old. She was 13, according to the criminal complaint in 2013. The 13-year-old girl told authorities that Contreras had also taken a photo of her partially undressed at his office in the 2000 block of North Avenue and had fondled her while she was learning how to ride a bicycle that Contreras volunteered to teach her how to ride. Contreras knew her parents and they trusted him with their daughter at the time. Even one of her relatives saw when Contreras indecently touched her while riding a bicycle, the complaint states.
In the first felony count that was filed in May of 2013, Contreras allegedly began to molest an 11-year-old girl in the Summer of 2012 and lasted until April 26, 2013. Chicago police arrested Contreras on May 8, 2013 at his residence.
Contreras was accused of repeatedly touching the 11-year-old girl's genitals, taking topless photos of her and photos in a bikini while she was taking singing lessons from him at his Hermosa neighborhood office.
Contreras, a popular TV host has been in the music business for 20 years and was the producer and conductor of his Spanish language program aired on Saturday's on TV Azteca America WJYS Channel 62.4 in the Chicago area.
