ICE Arrested 14 Mexican Posse Gang Members In Milwaukee

12 alleged members of the Mexican Posse gang taken into custody awaiting deportation. One suspect facing a separate federal charge for a weapon possession and another suspect for re-entering the U.S.

Milwaukee - On Monday, agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in partnership with police departments from Milwaukee, Greenfield and Greendale executed an operation that resulted with the arrests of 14 suspected Mexican Posse gang members, ICE reported on Wednesday. Thirteen are Mexican nationals and one is from the Dominican Republic. All of the suspects are males and are being processed for deportation.
One of the suspects is facing a federal charge for possession of a firearm by an illegal alien. Also, a suspect from the Dominican Republic is facing a federal felony charge for re-entering the U.S. after previously being deported. He is facing up to 20 years in a federal prison, if convicted.
ICE stated in the news release, that most of the suspects are known gang members or are associated with the Mexican Posse gang. The suspects have a history of arrests and convictions of crimes in the country that includes, theft, property damage and drug trafficking related offenses, according to ICE.
Since 2005 to date, HSI special agents working in conjunction with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies nationwide have arrested more than 26,726 street gang members and associates. Almost 40 percent of those arrested had a violent criminal history. More than 340 of those arrested were gang leaders and more than 4,000 were MS-13 gang members or associates. Through this initiative nationally, HSI has seized 3,429 firearms. To date, of those arrested, more than 14,200 have been charged criminally, and nearly 12,500 have been charged with immigration violations and processed for removal.
