Serial bank robber facing multiple federal charges.

West Bend, WI - On Wednesday, state prosecutors asked Judge Todd K. Martens to dismiss a bank robbery case against Michael J. Scott, 36, from Randolph, Wisconsin because the case has been turned over to federal prosecutors. Judge Martens granted the state's request to drop the case against Scott. He is facing multiple federal charges for robbing 10 banks.
Scott admitted to police of committing ten bank robberies. He was being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
The U.S. Attorney's office will file federal charges against Scott for multiple bank robberies.
On July 13, Sergio Aleman, 49, a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy and a Milwaukee police officer arrested two suspects for robbing a Germantown U.S. Bank. Scott, one of the suspects is accused of robbing at least ten banks in southeastern Wisconsin. Scott and another suspect, a 28-year-old female were spotted on the freeway by a Deputy Aleman. Aleman and a police officer arrested Scott and a second suspect at a south side Milwaukee gas station at the 600 block of W. Becher St. after robbing a U.S. Bank on County Line Rd. and Appleton.
Deputy Aleman was able to identified the vehicle from a description provided from the bank robbery in Germantown.
Scott became known as the serial "Ball Cap" bank robber who never wore a mask, also wore the same clothing in several occassions while robbing banks and was considered dangerous.
The bank association had offered $8,500 reward for information leading to Scott's arrest.
On Tuesday, Deputy Aleman while on duty died after succumbing to injuries sustained after he rear-ended a N&S flatbed towing truck on southbound I-43 near the Marquette interchange.
