Harlingen, Texas - Popular Tejano singer Jessy Serrata, 63, has been diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer and has been hospitalized at a Harlingen hospital for treatment. Fans have began a prayer campaign in social media to help Serrata recover.
Serrata singing career includes 17 albums and was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards in 2004.
Family members and friends posted photos of Serrata in his hospital room and is in good spirits. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday and will be transferred to a Houston hospital later this week for specialized treatment, according to the Tejano Loco Facebook page. His fan base is hoping for Serrata to have a quick recovery.
