Both Salazar Jr. and Alejandres were pushing a disabled truck with other friends along Mines Road when Meza who was allegedly intoxicated crashed into them at 50mph and killed the two men.

Laredo, Texas - On Tuesday, Webb County Judge Jose Lopez from Circuit Court Branch 49th allowed for convicted vehicular homicide driver Miguel Angel Meza, 29, to post bail while his case is on appeal. Meza was convicted last week for two counts of criminal negligence homicide with a vehicle that occurred on June 10, 2017. Meza was also facing two counts of intoxicated manslaughter charges, but were dismissed (indictment modified) due to lack of evidence from the state, according to Judge Lopez' ruling during the pretrial hearing.
Meza was sentenced by Judge Lopez on Tuesday to two years in jail for each count, which will run concurrently, but will actually serve two years in jail. He was also fined $5,000 for each count totaling $10,000, according to court records.
Meza who was allegedly intoxicated and driving a 2006 Ford Mustang at the time struck and killed Jorge Salazar Jr., 20, and David Alejandres, 19, while they were pushing a disabled 2006 Ford F-150 truck along Mines Road in Laredo.
Apparently, Laredo Police Department (LPD) crash scene investigating officers in June 2017 arrested Meza and booked him at the jail after taking the required toxicology specimens to determine, if Meza was drug impaired or had a high quantity of alcohol concentration in his blood while driving. The State prosecution wasn't able to prove that Meza was intoxicated because the toxicology specimen results were not entered into evidence in the case.
