Shots Fired At The 700 Block Of S. 26 St., Third Shooting Incident Reported In The Same Block Since March 2022 In The Southside Of Milwaukee



Three shooting incidents have been reported at the 700 block of S. 26 St., since March 2022 including one where three men ages, 19, 28 and 57 were injured with gunshot wounds, according to Milwaukee police.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On early Thursday, June 23, 2022 at around 12:33a.m., three vehicles were spotted leaving the area of the 700 block of S. 26 St. after 6 gunshots were fired from the street where at least 6 spent cartridges were found by Milwaukee police who responded to the scene.

No one was reported injured, according to police at the scene.

Three shooting incidents in the area have been reported within the last 4 months at the 700 block of S. 26 Street. 

The first reported shooting incident occurred March 19, 2022 where multiple shots were fired in the afternoon striking multiple vehicles at the 700 block of S. 26 St. No one was reported injured.

The second reported shooting at the 700 block of S. 26 St. was reported on June 18, 2022 at around 10: 24a.m, multiple shots were reported to police. When police arrived, they located three injured male victims at the crime scene. Police reported that two male victims ages 19 and 57 were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to survive. The third victim, a 28-year-old man was transported with life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition. No update about the 28-year-old victim has been reported.

Police arrested one suspect in the June 18, shooting incident and a second suspect was being sought in connection with the shooting as well.

So far, no one has been killed in the last three reported shoorings at the 700 block of S. 26 St., according to police.

In an unrelated shooting in the area, on June 4, 2022, around 7:08p.m. at the 2600 block of W. Mineral St., a 41-year-old male was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital.

A suspect who was caught by an outside video surveillance camera in that shooting is being sought by police.
