Arrona-Lara is wanted for a homicide in Mexico and is in the process of being extradited by the U.S.

San Bernardino, California - Last Wednesday, Joel Arrona-Lara, 36, an undocumented man originally from the Mexican state of Guanajuato who is wanted for an alleged homicide in Mexico was detained by ICE in CA. Arrona-Lara has been living in the U.S. for 12 years without any legal status.
Arrona-Lara was transporting his pregnant wife, María del Carmen Venegas, 32, to the hospital for a scheduled cesarean delivery. The wife had to drive herself to the hospital after her husband was taken into custody by ICE. She told media outlets that her husband's homicide was "a misunderstanding" in Mexico, apparently knowing that he was wanted Mexico. ICE released the following statement Arrona-Lara's arrest, "ICE conducts targeted immigration enforcement in compliance with federal law and agency policy," the statement said. "ICE will no longer exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. All of those in violation of the immigration laws may be subject to immigration arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States."
Under the Trump administration, anyone who is suspected of being in the U.S. illegally and comes into contact with ICE is subject to arrest and deportation process.
