Voter Turnout In 2018 Increased By 48.84% Electing Sylvia Ortiz-Velez To The Milwaukee County Supervisor Board District 12th Compared To 2017

The election voter turnout for the Milwaukee County Supervisor Board in the 12th District increased by 48.84% in 2018 compared to the Milwaukee Public School Board District 6th election in 2017.

Milwaukee, WI - The election voter turnout on April 3rd, 2018 in the Milwaukee County Supervisor Board District 12th increased by 48.84% with 505 more votes cast than in the Milwaukee Public School Board District 6th election, according to the Milwaukee County Election Commission. Sylvia Ortiz-Velez was elected to the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors District 12th. 
In 2017, totals showed that 1,038 votes were cast in the Milwaukee Public Board District 6th compared to 2018, which the total for the Milwaukee County Supervisor Board District 12th was 1,545 with an increase of the voter turnout by 505 votes, an increase of 48.84%.
Supervisor elect Ortiz-Velez defeated incumbent Supervisor Peggy West, who served for 14 years in office indicating that the electors in district 12th wanted change, reform and progress at the County level.
