Laredo, Texas - On Wednesday, Priscilla Villarreal Treviño, 32, aka, "La GordiLoca" turned herself to the Laredo Police Department for two outstanding warrants for using official police information without authorization, which Villarreal Treviño claims was for simply live streaming of accidents and incident investigations by police on Facebook. Villarreal Treviño was released on bond after she was charged with two felony counts for misuse of official information, a 3rd-degree felony, if convicted she could face up to 10 years in prison for each count and $10,000 in fines.
According to the Laredo Police Department (LPD) complaint, Villarreal Treviño allegedly used official information not yet released to report on her Facebook news page called La GordiLoca News Laredo TX and profited from it affecting such investigations.
The LPD would have to prove that Villarreal Treviño had sold LPD unofficial information to other news sources, but she only live streams her reporting on FB.
Villarreal Treviño on the contrary says, that police had been harassing her for at least four months because she reports the news as freedom of the press and speech. On a Facebook (FB) video that Villarreal Treviño posted on December 12, she exposed police corruption and apparently indicated that she had information about police officers engaging in sex and extramarital affairs. She vowed to make it public to her 83,617 FB followers who love the chisme (gossip), if she was taken into custody. Also, she explained that the LPD had launched an internal investigation involving a female police officer (Laredo Police Officer Barbara J. Goodman) who has been placed on administrative reassignment pending the outcome of an investigation, according to the LPD and is facing termination in connection with passing official information to Villarreal Treviño. Villarreal Treviño says, she has received accident reports by people who have come upon a police investigation scene and claimed that Officer Goodman is innocent and in no way has given her any official information.

Facebook users that follow the GordiLoca news reporting on FB have posted comments on her video posts that also alleged that the LPD is corrupt and should be investigated by the feds.
The LPD has had a history of corruption, a former police chief and officers have been convicted of criminal activity and corruption.
