Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, Anthony Rivera, 43, a Milwaukee Police Officer was taken into custody by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office after he was cited for 1st-DUI. Rivera around 1:30 a.m. crashed into five wooded posts and a guard rail on southbound I-43 near the Locust Street exit.
Michael Boden, 52, another Milwaukee Police Officer was also taken into custody on early New Year's Day for driving under the the influence of alcohol. Boden was stopped by a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy near N. 83rd Street and Bluemound Road on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Boden repeatedly refuse to take a field sobriety test and accused the deputy of revenge. Boden was taken to Froedtert Hospital for a mandatory blood test.
Boden was video recorded by the deputy's squad dash cam saying that he knew the deputy for over 20 years. Boden called the deputy by name, but the deputy told Boden, it wasn't his name.
Boden was cited for a 1st-DUI, lane deviation and could face an additional misdemeanor charge for having a loaded weapon in his car while intoxicated.
The Milwaukee Police Department confirmed that both police officers who were off duty at the time of their arrests are facing disciplinary action by the department.
