Orlando, Florida - Last Thursday, Vikash Mahadeo, the manager of the Majestic Events Center decided to cancel a scheduled two-day local gun show for Saturday and Sunday after it was learned that George Zimmerman, 30, the aquitted killer of Trayvon Martin, 17, was going to be a featured quest at the weekend New Orlando's Gun Show. Mahadeo and the owners of the Majestic Center, 801 N. John Young Parkway are now facing a major lawsuit by more than one hundred gun exhibitors, including the gun show organizer and Zimmerman. They're claiming that the gun show cancellation has cost them about $100,000 in lost revenue and other costs. Mike Piwowarski, the gun show organizer and owner of Arms Room told Click Orlando dot com that they had a year long contract with the Majestic Center and the contract didn't give the Majestic Center an exclusive right to clear any vendor with them or who could attend the gun show. But, Piwowarski claims, he complied with some requests that Mahadeo had made in order to continue with the gun show and the conditions were to remove posters or postings that Zimmerman was going to be featured at the gun show. Piwowarski said, that he complied, but Mahadeo rescheduled the event and then later decided to cancel it costing the gun show exhibitors and the organizer thousands of dollars, which now they intent to recuperate through a lawsuit.
Piwowarski told several media outlets that Zimmerman was going to be a paying vendor and wanted to have a "meet and greet" session with those attending the weekend gun show.
Zimmerman had also posted on his Twitter account that he would be at the Majestic Center gun show. Piwowarski decided to hold an impromptu gun show at his business after the Majestic Center cancelled the show and Zimmerman was there on Saturday and Sunday without any major incident reported.
On Saturday, Piwowarski posted on his Arms Room Facebook account, "Come on out and meet George Z! He's here a few more hours. And no matter what you read, there are no protestors, lunatics or other varieties of ass clowns. And don't froget we have free burgers and dogs!"
Zimmerman told local TV News 35 that he wears a bullet proof vest and is always armed. He doesn't have a home, but lives at a motel.
