Mexican Marines Arrested 20 Suspects Involved In 103 Homicides In Veracruz

Members of the New Jalisco Generation Cartel committed 67 homicides and the Zetas committed at least 36 murders.

Mexico City - On Thursday, the Mexican Marine Secretary (Semar) presented 20 suspects connected to 103 homicides in the state of Veracruz in a press conference. Marines also arrested Alfredo Carmona Aranda, aka, "El Capi" leader of the New Jalisco Generation Cartel (NJGC), including 8 of its members and Zeta leader in Veracruz, Aquiles Cruz Hurtado, aka, "EL Chilaquil," including 12 of its members. Five of the suspects are minors, according to authorities from Semar.
The NJGC is responsible for the torture and murder of 67 people, including 32 victims found on Thursday and 35 victims (23 men, 12 women) whose bodies were dumped on September 20, in a highway during rush hour near Las Américas Shopping Mall in the municipality of Boca del Rio, Veracruz.
The Zetas are responsible for another 36 homicides, which the bodies of victims were also discovered on Thursday.
NJGC members also taken into custody along with Carmona Aranda were identified as Guillermo Aparicio Anguiano, aka, "Memo"; Adrián de la Cruz, aka, "Chupas"; Alfonso Richard, aka, "Richard"; Mario Alberto Cruz Torres, aka, "Cactus"; Fabian Federico Sánchez Ruiz, aka, "Fabián"; José Refugio Estrada Rojas, aka, "Cuco" and Juan Antonio de la Cruz alias "Toñito" or "Tony."
Zeta suspects arrested along with Cruz Hurtado were identified as Moisés Guzmán, aka, "El Tacubayo"; Ángel Juárez Vicencio, aka, "La Negra" or "El Soldado"; Fernando Ramírez Granados, aka, "La Mosca"; Félix Alberto Ruiz Estrada,aka, "El Sorchi"; Alfredo Ocampo Elvira, aka, "El Negro"; Edmundo Ramírez San Martín, aka, "El Pitufo"; Fernando González Cruz, aka, "El Malo"; Francisco de Jesús Martínez Rojas, aka, "El Choquis"; Miguel Ángel Domínguez Méndez, aka, "El Miguelín"; Nahum Ortega Rodríguez, aka, "El Estroner" and Víctor Manuel Mirón, aka, "Tornik."
