Mexican Military Soldiers Aggressively Attacked Reporters In Nuevo Laredo Neighborhood

News video shows military attacking Mexican reporters at alleged shooting incident

Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico - On Tuesday, three reporters were aggressively attacked by military personnel who responded to a shots being fired in the Valles de Anáhuac vacinity. Mexican soldiers were investigating a report of shots being fired in the area when reporters arrived to cover the military presence at the scene.
Several soldiers spotted the reporters in a unsecured area and told them to move back into the road. Before reporters could respond and comply with the soldiers demands, they began to aggressively push reporters back and physically abuse several of them as other reporters were able to video record the altercation.
Several reporters received minor injuries in the incident, they were identified as Abisaí Rubio, and cameraman Ricardo Ramírez both from TV Azteca and Antonio Neftalí Gómez from Radio Voz in Nuevo Laredo. Gómez was pushed to ground and hit several times by a soldier.
Gómez said, he saw several of his collegues being pushed and hit by the military. He decided to get closer inorder to record the incident when a soldier attacked him.
The reporters tried to talk to high ranking official in charge of the military squadron, but were ignored. They are expected to file a formal complaint with the federal military and the National Human Rights Commission.  
The federal military command in the region has not responded or commented about the matter, according to the reporters involved.
