San Juan, Puerto Rico - On Saturday, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Puerto Rico announced the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Marshals and state authorities had apprehended one of the most wanted druglords in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Jose David Figueroa Agosto, 46, aka, "Junior Cápsula" wanted for passport fraud, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and prison escape. Agosto was arrested around 11:10 a.m. after a brief vehicle chase along Isla Verde Avenue and Loiza Street in the Santurce neighborhood in San Juan. An informant working with the feds provided information that led to intelligence where Agosto would be located in Santurce.
When DEA agents asked who he was, Agosto identified himself and did not resist arrest. He was then taken into custody without incident along with two other suspects. The two other men have not been identified yet.

Agosto was wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service for the 1999 escape from a Puerto Rican prison and since has been a federal fugitive. He ended up in the Dominican Republic where he was briefly detained and then released, but is wanted for numerous criminal offenses.
In early July, 158 suspects were indicted by the federal government and arrested by the DEA and Puerto Rico Police Department.
