Whitewater -The Whitewater Police Department is gearing up for the Annual Hispanic Outreach Program which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the Cravath Lakefront Community Center. This year’s outreach session will include guest speaker H. Nelson Goodson, as well as public safety information from Whitewater Police Officers Zena Villarello and Saul Valadez. Guest speaker H. Nelson Goodson is nationally one of the foremost respected immigration rights and reform journalists. Goodson is a member of the coalition "A Day Without Latinos" that sponsored the historical and largest immigrant march on March 23, 2006. Goodson will share his experiences of Hispanic Outreach in the Milwaukee Community in comparison to Whitewater. He will touch on some positive ways the Whitewater Police Department and the Hispanic Community can communicate in an effort to promote and maintain a safe community.
