Alderwoman Zamarripa in a two-page letter to the Board of Zoning Appeals cited that Community Medical Services was untruthful when submitting their application to open an outpatient opioid treatment center at the S. Layton Blvd location in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - The Board of Zoning Appeals (BOZA) released a copy of a two-page letter to Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) under an open records request, which was submitted to BOZA by Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa in opposition of an application by the Community Medical Services (CMS) that was submitted on January 29, 2021 to open an outpatient opioid treatment center at 823 S. Layton Blvd in the 8th Aldermanic District in the Southside of Milwaukee. Ald. Zamarripa alleged in her letter that CMS's application had "contains inaccurate and false information", that also falsely claimed that she was supporting CMS's application to open an outpatient opioid treatment center, which Zamarripa also claimed that CMS would use at least 100 parking spaces (but only highlighted 50 parking spaces in the application) in the strip mall location where 12 businesses are located and the strip mall only has about 165 parking spaces in the entire lot and that staff from CMS would park on S. 28th Street, which most area residents in the location park in the street and don't have garages.
HNNUSA contacted CMS by email for a comment, but the CMS administrative staff have not responded to Ald. Zamarripa's claims and opposition to the outpatient opioid treatment center project.
BOZA confirmed to HNNUSA that CMS had removed their application of appeal to open at the S. Layton Blvd location and the case was dismissed.
