Police are investigating a homicide in the Southside of Milwaukee, the victim was identified as a 52-year-old Hispanic male.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Thursday, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified Othon Herrera-Conchi, 52, originally from Mexico, as the deceased victim who was fatally shot in the head around 3:55 p.m. while driving his truck along the 1700 block of S. 7 Street on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 near W. Historic Mitchell Street in the Southside of Milwaukee.
Herrera-Conchi was heading home when he was fatally shot. He lived at the 900 block of W. Windlake Ave. in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee and Waukesha County court records showed that Herrera-Conchi had a history of not carrying his license when operating a vehicle and had pled guilty for having no insurance, which are not criminal offenses.
An outdoor surveillance camera near where Herrera-Conchi was shot capture the shooting and Herrera-Conchi then crashing into a pole. An unidentified man was seen fleeing from the truck Herrera-Conchi was driving.
No further details were made available by police, but that the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
There have been at least 31 homicides in the City of Milwaukee this year (2025), making Herrera-Conchi, the third Hispanic who was fatally shot in the City and second Latino male to have die from gunfire. The other two Hispanic homicide victims are identified as Isaac Pelegrino, 42, who was fatally shot on March 21, 2025 at the 2100 block of S. 7 Street, no charges have been filed in Pelegrino's homicide, and Jocelyn Jimenez, 22, who was fatally shot by her brother, Gerardo Jimenez-Rico, 32, at the 3900 block of W. Cheyenne Ave. on January 22, 2025.
Jimenez-Rico was criminally charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse inflicting pain, and two counts for attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse inflicting pain. He is facing life in prison, if convicted in Jocelyn's homicide.
