Huge Turnout Out At The Impromptu Mexican Independence Day Street Takeover 2021 Flag Waving And Parading In Milwaukee During The COVID-19 Pandemic

Hundreds of Mexican flag waving and impromptu parading vehicles gathered at Milwaukee County Mitchell Park on Sunday to celebrate the Mexican Independence Day during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Milwauke, WI - The largest gathering yet in the Southside of Milwaukee during the Mexican Independence Day impromptu flag waving and parading in the City.

Hundreds of vehicles from various local auto, truck and customized car groups gathered at Milwaukee County Mitchell Park on Sunday, September 12, 2021 during the annual event and then proceeded to cruise along the Southside predominantly Latino community.

Milwaukee police managed to successfully direct traffic from the park into the main street on S. 27th Street (S. Historic Layton Blvd).

Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies assisted the Milwaukee Police Department at Mitchell Park.

Police reported no incidents at the Mitchell Park parking lot.

The Mopar Outcast Car Club hosted this year's September 16 Mexican Independence Day Street Takeover, according to their Facebook page posting for the event. 

Also, Milwaukee police block  part of the S. Cesar E. Chávez Drive from W. Greenfield Ave. to W. National Ave. where multiple vehicles and crowds gathered to celebrate the impromptu flag waving event. Vehicles burned rubber at the corner of W. Scott St. and S. Chavez Dr.

The annual United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) Mexican Independence Day Parade and Festival was canceled again for a second year in a row due to the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mexican flag cruising and impromptu parading in the Southside of Milwaukee usually ignites during the traditional Fiesta Patrias, Mexican Independence Day and other events celebrating national holidays for Latinos.

The Mexican Independence Day is celebrated in the U.S.A.,  Mexico and Worldwide in commemoration of Mexico's independence day, which actually marks the moment on September 15, 1810 when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Catholic priest known as Father Hidalgo, made the first cry "Grito" for independence from Spain in the town of Dolores in the State of Guanajuato, Mexico.
