Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Sunday, Dyango Zerpa launched his Facebook page as a candidate for Milwaukee County Supervisor in the 12th District. Zerpa officially filed his candidacy in May to run for Milwaukee County Supervisor.
Zerpa stated on May 4th, the day of his birthday, "I'm excited today to announce that I have filed my Declaration of Candidacy for 12th District County Supervisor. I was fortunate enough to have some close friends and family awaiting me when I came outside. From my years of experience working for this very district in various capacities, I am excited for the opportunity to prove my committment to my neighbors and community."
Zerpa is currently the legislative aid for Wisconsin State Assembly Representative Sylvia Ortiz-Velez (D) in the 8th District who is also the current Milwaukee County Supervisor in the 12th District.
Zerpa also worked as a legislative aid in the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and was assigned several Supervisors including Ortiz-Velez.
Zerpa was the campaign manager for Ortiz-Velez when she ran twice for the Milwaukee County seat and was reelected.
Ortiz-Velez on May 4th also stated, "It takes a lot to run.. Excited to see Dyango Zerpa file for his candidacy to be the next 12th District Milwaukee County Supervisor. With his experience and knowledge of the issues I know the 12th will be in very capable hands."
