Mexico City - On Tuesday, the federal Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR) confirmed that the PGR Criminal Investigation Agency (PGRCIA) was able to match Enrique Plancarte Solis, 43, or Enrique Alfredo Suárez Solis, aka, "Kike" fingerprints and photo images to a suspect killed on Monday in Ajuchitlan, Querétaro. The body of a suspect that had been killed during a confrontation with Mexican Marines was positively identified as Plancarte Solis, according to the PGRCIA.
Marines entered the municipality of Colón, Querétaro around noon after Plancarte Solis was believed to have been staying there since Friday.
Plancarte Solis originally from Nueva Italia, Michoacán fled from Colón, but was located in Ajuchitlan about 15 minutes from municipality of Colón where he was reported killed during a confrontation with Mexican Marines.
Mexican authorities say, that Samuel Díaz Benítez, 32, a close associate of Plancarte Solis was arrested on Saturday in Apatzingán and Benítez provided the location where the drug cartel leader was hiding. Mexican Marines surrounded Colón and eventually located Plancarte Solis in Ajuchitlan.
