Miami, Florida - Nationwide Wisin y Yandel fans who bought tickets early are left with no option, but to attend the Jennifer Lopez' (JLO) concert without their group present, according to Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster as of Monday didn't know that Wisin y Yandel had dropped out of the 20-city JLO concert tour in the U.S., including Canada and informed fans seeking refunds that JLO was the main event and refused to provide any refunds to those requesting them.
The JLO tour apparently is replacing Wisin y Yandel with Francisco Javier Bautista Jr, 36, also known by the stage name of Frankie J, a former member of the Kumbia Kings. Frankie J originally from Tijuana, Mexico grew up in San Diego and became an R&B and Latin Pop singer. Frankie J will join the JLO concert tour.
One of the fans in the twin cities area, Jackie Gallegos purchased her ticket early to check out Wisin y Yandel in the JLO mega tour concert in Minnesota, but became disappointed that the duo decided to drop out. She requested a refund from Ticketmaster and the ticket agency refused a refund eventhough the scheduled concert in the twin cities is for August 1. Gallegos and other fans around the country are also facing the same dilema "no refunds."
A news release on Friday from the popular reggaeton group Wisin y Yandel stated, the duo had been "forced to withdraw from the upcoming North American concert tour alongside Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez due to unresolvable production issues." Their management attributed an impossibility of the Lopez' tour to provide a production the duo is accustomed of producing. The JLO tour is expected to begin on July 14.
As of Wednesday, Ticketmaster continued to offer a Wisin y Yandel VIP greet package online, which included a reserved ticket, meet and greet the duo, one individual photo with them, an autograph tour poster or photograph and one limited edition VIP meet and greet laminate card. The ticket agency has failed to update their website and is continuing to lure unsuspecting Wisin y Yandel fans to purchase tickets for the JLO concert tour. No announcement or attempt to notify those who bought tickets for the JLO tour performances from Ticketmaster has been made to alert the Wisin y Yandel fans that the duo will no longer will be part of the JLO concert tour and that Frankie J would be a replacement for the duo.
