Madison - On Tuesday, the Democrats will have a majority in the state senate chamber after John W. Lehman (D) was officially sworn in as Senator for the 21st District on Monday. Lehman gave the Democrats a majority of 17-16 after defeating Republican incumbent Van Wanggaard, who served briefly and didn't finish a four year term in the senate.
Lehman's confirmation and Democrats taking control of the senate will make it difficult for Republicans and Governor Scott Walker (R) to continue with their agenda without bipartisan support.
Republicans still hold control the State Assembly. No major legislation is expected to go through the senate until next year.
