Chicago, Illinois - On Saturday, Touch Events announced that their 10th Annual Chicago Salsa and Bachata Festival 2025 (CSBF) that was scheduled to take place on April 18th at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare has been postponed until November after multiple former dance and festival participants from the Latino dance community had allegedly claimed that they had experienced sexual assault, harassment abuse, and sexual misconduct behavior by multiple individuals involved in the festival at a previous year's event and had brought it up to organizers of the CSBF and nothing was actually done. (HNNUSA article link: http://hispanicnewsnetwork.blogspot.com/2025/03/jose-serrano-owner-of-evolucion-latina.html)

Claire Rebecca, a popular dancer, 2023 Summit Championship Dancer, Miami, Florida, and instructor exposed her experience and alleged sexual assaults by Jose Serrano and Douglas Ortiz who were also involved with the festival, and as her revelation was shared in social media (Facebook/FB), others began to also alleged sexual misconduct and etc., which involved other entertainment personnel of the CSBF including Marcos Ramos-Garcia also known as DJ BachaTito from Milwaukee who is a co-organizer with the CSBF and a registered agent for Lucky 7 Promotions from Milwaukee who contracted Zacarias Ferreira, a Bachata singer to perform at the CSBF on Saturday, April 19th as a separate event at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. Ramos-Garcia has not confirmed, if Ferreira will be canceled, since the CSBF has postponed its event until November.

HNNUSA has learned that those individuals named by victims of alleged sexual assault and sexual misconduct incidents have not been criminally charged with a crime.

On August 17, 2022, Ramos-Garcia filed a defamation civil lawsuit in Milwaukee County against Betsy Resto after she called Ramos-Garcia a "groomer," "predator," “abuser,” "rapist," and someone who was “preying” on an “underage” girl, etc..

Resto posted in her FB account that, "His case was dismissed with prejudice after the Court ordered him to produce his text messages with the women who accused him of sexual misconduct under oath in court documents, including one woman who testified that he had sex with her while she was a minor, another who testified he made an unwelcome sexual advance when she was his employee, and a third who testified she believes he drugged her after she had a complete blackout of memory after a night out with him only for him to later text her about how they “made out ferociously.” I also testified about my uncomfortable experiences with Marcos when I was on his dance team, such as him barging into the fitting room without knocking, going back on promises, and insisting he didn’t say things I knew he had said (gaslighting)."
