Intoxicated Wrongway Driver Gets 18 Months In Prison For Off-duty Officer Injury Case

Salmon gets 18 months behind jail for wrongway crash that left an off-duty Milwaukee policer officer seriously injured.

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday,  Erin M. Salmon, 23, was sentenced to 42 months in prison, but will only do 18 months of confinement and two years of probation for the wrong way collision along I-94 with a vehicle driven by an off-duty officer heading home. She was convicted after pleading guilty to one felony count for injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Under the plea agreement, two other felony counts, 2nd-degree reckless endangering safety and injury by use of a vehicle with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (PAC) were dismissed.
Salmon also pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors for hit-and-run when she crashed into two vehicles before getting on the freeway and crashing into Albert. She was sentenced to 60 days in confinement to be served concurrently with the other conviction.
On September 5, off-duty Milwaukee Police Officer Joshua Albert, 31, was injured when Salmon crashed into Albert on I-94. Officer Albert had just finished his shift and was heading home after midnight along I-94 near the 35th Street exit when Salmon going the wrong way on the freeway without headlights struck Albert's vehicle head-on.
