Mother and boyfriend under investigation in childs death in Milwaukee's South side.

Milwaukee - On Saturday, police responded to an emergency at a local hospital involving a 3-year-old girl who was taken to Aurora Sinai Samaritan Medical Center. Mattasia A. Bowie, 3, later died of head trauma and her mother was arrested at the hospital after doctors reported the death to police. Mattasia's 20-year-old mother is pending charges of homicide.
The incident occurred in the 1600 block of S. 20th Street in a lower basement apartment, according to investigators.
On Monday, police confirmed the mother and her 21-year-old boyfriend were taken into custody for questioning concerning the childs death. The boyfriend who is not the childs father is also pending charges of child neglect in Mattasia's death. Charges for both suspects could come as soon as Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
