Help Sought For Medical And Other Incurred Expenses By 30-year-old Jóse González, One Of 9 Mass Shooting Victims From The PR Impromptu Flag Waving And Cruising Celebration By El Rey Foodmart



González suffered a gunshot injury to the face and is not expected to work for a long time, according to Jennessa Cruz's Facebook post seeking help to pay for his medical and other incurred costs due to his injuries.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Wednesday, one of the 9 victims of last Saturday's mass shooting by El Rey Foodmart parking lot at the 1400 block of W. Burnham Street during the Puerto Rican impromptu flag waving and cruising celebration was identified as Jóse González, 30, by Jennessa Cruz who posted on her Facebook acount that González was out celebrating his culture and was at the wrong time and place when he was shot in the face. González is unable to work for a long time and needs to undergo therapy. 

González also has a daughter, according to Cruz. Cruz says that she is helping his family to raise funds for González.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, González was among hundreds of individuals celebrating the Puerto Rican culture during an impromptu Puerto Rican flag waving and cruising gathering by El Rey Foodmart parking lot when someone began to discharge a weapon and someone else returned fire injurying at least 9 victims ages 16 to 42, 6 males including González and 3 females were reported injured.
