Editorial: Former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales Should Remain Off The MPD Force, He Failed As Chief And Definitely Missed His Chance To Hold Police Officers Accountable

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - The City of Milwaukee Fire & Police Commission (F&PC) should not reinstate a former retired Milwaukee Police Chief who was demoted to police captain after he failed to follow multiple directives, repeated warnings of getting replaced including being accused of lying to the Commission.

Former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales failed to hold his officers under his watch accountable for making false reports, statements and violating the due process of an undocumented immigrant who was frivolously arrested in the Southside of Milwaukee and instead of processing him for the alleged charge, police officer at the scene turned him over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents without any accountability while Morales claimed that his department wasn't working to illegally detain undocumented immigrants in the City.

Morales during a F&PC hearing claimed that ICE agents had a federal warrant to detain the undocumented immigrant in question, but Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) discovered it was only an ICE administrative warrant signed by an agent, which is invalid to enforce by law enforcement, only a federal or state warrant signed by a judge are valid to enforce in private property.

Morales also failed to a directive from the F&PC to report the individual in the department who released a video and information to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about a sexual assault investigation that exposed the victim. To date, the MPD hasn't digitally traced which police officer or supervisor leaked the video. It was later known that Morales was interested in getting the suspect in the sexual assault case who is a known developer to join a police foundation board to raise funds for police officers families.

Morales was also criticized for using chemical tear gas at peaceful protesters by MATC, simply because an individual threw a water bottle at police who were fully geared for riot situations.

Morales granted an interview with a WTMJ Radio and stated, "I'm ready to come back to work. In fact, I called this morning for access to my email. I have a lot of things I need to do to start straightening out that department...It's unfortunate in what the city is doing in not taking responsibility for their actions. The city has admitted guilt to no due process, not affording me due process. That's a violation of my civil rights," former Milwaukee police Chief Alfonso Morales said on WTMJ Radio on Tuesday (May 25, 2021).

Ironically, Morales is also a known Trump supporter and supports the Milwaukee Police Association who endorsed Trump for President, which was infiltrated with White nationalists MAGAs (Make Amerikkka Great Again/Keep Amerikkka Great). The City of Milwaukee has a majority of Democrats leaving in the City and having a police chief who is a Trump supporter and a MAGA run police union doesn't create a good working law enforcement partnership and environment for the citizens that they serve, since the former police chief has lacked to enforce accountability and terminate police officers found to file false police reports, have lied, failed to follow due process for individuals that they detain and those who have been cited for off-duty confrontations with peaceful protesters of color.

So far, the MPD hasn't publicly acknowledged that it has investigated, if any police officer is associated with any supremacist groups or has been fired for being a supremacist.

Morales had his opportunity to revamp the MPD and make its police officers and supervisors accountable to the citizens of Milwaukee, but instead the MPD and its officers still enjoy privilege immunity.

One thing for, the Blue Lives Matter and the blue line insignia has been associated with the White nationalists and Trump MAGA rioters and insurrectionists that invaded the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021 in an attempt to keep Trump (R/MAGA) as President, the majority of Americans rejected Trump and the MAGA cult through the Electoral College vote Constitutional process that gave Joe Biden (D) the victory to defeat Trump.

Most of the MAGAs wearing their Identifying propaganda political red caps and displaying Trump flags have crawled back into the hole they crawled out.

Morales "No Va" for reinstatement.

Morales, if not reinstated as chief of police could get a $1M City settlement for his contract, if not rehired. The City hasn't announced, if it will appeal the Milwaukee County judge's decision to reinstate Morales as Chief of Police.
