Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, Christine Neumann-Ortiz, the Executive Director of Voces de Frontera (VDLF), a workers and immigrant rights non-profit organization announced that VDLF will be part of a coalition composed of public elected officials, religious groups of all faiths, immigrant and refugee rights groups, workers, Muslims, women, DREAMers, Afro-Americans, Jews, LGBTQ community and other organizations that will hold a national day of action and resistance movement against President-elect Trump's political advocacy for hate, racism, creating division among Americans and anticipated mass deportations of DREAMers and undocumented immigrants including refugees. VDLF and groups support and advocate for the creation of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented immigrants.
The National Day of Action and Resistance against Trump's advocacy for racism and hate during his election campaign is set for Saturday, January 14, 2016. VDLF will initiate a march from their main office at 1027 S. 5th St. at 11:00 a.m. and will head to the Milwaukee County Courthouse in Downtown Milwaukee for anow outdoor rally.
Other immigrant rights groups and religious groups in cities around the U.S. will hold similar action and people who would like to participate can check their local organizations listing for scheduled times and locations of National Day of Action events against Trump and his administration.
