Eight Australian Siblings Fatally Stabbed In Cairns

Brother discovered stabbing massacre of siblings at home, but mother hospitalized with stabbing wounds.

Cairns, Queensland, Australia - On Friday Australia time before 11:20 a.m., a 20-year-old man reported to police that he found eight of his siblings fatally stabbed at his home. His 34-year-old mother apparently was also stabbed multiple times and was hospitalized.
Eight of the siblings killed range from ages 18 months to 15 years. Police are investigating the crime scene and have released few details other then confirming eight brothers and sisters were found murdered. Their mother was taken to a nearby hospital for chest and neck knife wounds and the stepfather has been hospitalized as well.
A neighbor told media outlets that she heard a loud domestic argument between a male and female around 10:00 a.m. before the gruesome massacre was reported to police.
Cairns Police Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar told media outlets that the 34-year-old woman is in stable condition and is cooperating with homicide investigators.
