Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office charged former Milwaukee County Correctional Officer Xavier Thicklen, 25, with five felony counts for 2nd-degree sexual assault of a 22-year-old female inmate, one felony count for misconduct in office and one felony count for obstruction. If convicted, Thicklen is facing up to 40 years in prison for each sexual assault count.
The criminal complaint states, that Thicklen assaulted the inmate between April and November. She alleged that Thicklen even sexually assaulted her when she was pregnant and weeks from giving birth. He would take the inmate to areas at Milwaukee County jail facility pretending she had an attorney visit or while taking her to the jail infirmary. She said, that the last sexual encounter happened on November 15 and that Thicklen would make her perform sex acts at a visiting room used for attorneys and inmates.
She came forward in December by filing a misconduct complaint and even told investigators that he even had sex with her days after given birth.
When Thicklen discovered she had filed a complaint with the MCSD for sexual assault, he resigned from his position, but was later arrested and charged with sexual assault after an internal investigation concluded that there was enough probable cause to charged Thicklen.
