Ruiz-Ramirez Sentenced To 2 Years In The House of Corrections For Hitting Three Milwaukee Cops On Bicycles

Convicted hit-and-run drunk driver gets light sentence for striking three Milwaukee police officers on bicycle patrol in the Southside.

Milwaukee – On Friday, Gaudencio Ruiz-Ramirez, 25, was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in the House of Corrections for one felony count of hit-and-run, involving injury and three misdemeanors for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing injury with an alcohol concentration of 0.15 over the legal limit. He was ordered to pay for the damaged bicycles.
Ruiz-Ramirez pleaded guilty to striking three Milwaukee Police Officers, Bradley Johnson, William Moreno and Michael Duket who were riding their police unit bicycles on September 9, while riding along a bicycle lane at the 1100 block of W. Lincoln Ave. A fourth bicycle officer was not injured.
Ruiz-Ramirez fled the scene, but the accident was caught by a nearby surveillance video camera. He was later arrested.
