Wanted Suspect Stop By Multiple Milwaukee Police Units In the South Side

Milwaukee - On Sunday, multiple Milwaukee Police squads and officers responded to a call at 6:20 p.m. and were able to stop a suspect at the 2600 block of W. Lincoln Ave. The Hispanic male suspect in his 20's was lighting fireworks at the corner when police spotted him, according to a witness.
After talking to the suspect, police discovered he was wanted. The suspect resisted when an officer in a bicycle tried to take him into custody regarding a warrant. The suspect was detained.
In the City of Milwaukee, all fireworks are illegal, even if purchase outside of the city limits. The Milwaukee city code of ordinance 105.47 Fireworks prohibits the sale and discharge of any item that emits smoke, a bang, or sparkle is considered illegal and upon conviction subject to a fine of not less than $500 or more than $1,000 for an adult who uses or consents to the use of fireworks by a minor.
