Pérez plans to run in 12th Aldermanic District

Milwaukee - On Wednesday, José G. Pérez confirmed he had filed a Campaign Registration form to run for Alderman in the 12th District. He registered Friends of José Pérez on June 28th, according to the Milwaukee Election Commission. Pérez is in real estate with LRG Real Estate Development, LLC and a former Program Officer with the Community Development Block Grants Administration with the City of Milwaukee. Pérez plans to announce his official candidacy in comming weeks.
Pérez expects to challenge Alderman James Witkowiak from the 12th District. He is the first to file a Campaign Registration Statement, according to the Election Commission.
The District will have 68.8% of Hispanic voting age population in 2011, according to the approved redistricting plan by the Milwaukee Common Council on Wednesday.
The Aldermanic Primary election takes place on February 21, and General election on April 3, 2012.
