Caracas, Venezuela - Photos that are being censored by the Maduro government administration, but have been leaked out by social networks after Twitter had been blocked from exposing sniper shootings injuring dozens of peaceful, unarmed civilians and killing at least three.
Anti-government groups vowed to continue demonstrations on Friday and Saturday.

Reports coming out of Venezuela are confirming a repressive assault on civilians suspected of being anti-government by government military forces, Maduro's paramilitary armed groups and Cuban mercenary groups. Civilians have been targeted, shot or arrested to squash the week long demonstrations against the regime government.
Most of the unrest and clashes between government troops and demonstrators on Thursday were reported in two states, Táchira and Merida.
Civilians have been protesting about the 24,763 homicides reported in 2013. Some believe that the Maduro government is responsible and is engaging in the cleansing of the government opposition.
Civilians have had their homes, apartments and businesses raided by security forces and those suspected of supporting anti-government demonstrators are subject to arrest and tortured.
So far, six have been reported killed since the demonstrations began. Those killed include Bassil Alejandro Da Costa, 24, who was shot in the head (2/12/2014), Robert Redman, 24, shot in the neck (2/12/2014), José Méndez Gómez,  17, was run over by national guard vehicle (2/17/2014), Génesis Carmona, 22, was shot in the head (2/19/2014) and Alexis Martínez, shot in the chest (2/20/2014).

Caracas In Flames!

Caracas, Venezuela - On Wednesday, parts of the city of Caracas went up in flames as government troops and protesters clash. Five people have already been reported killed in the pro- and anti-government protest. Those killed were Bassil Alejandro Da Costa, 24, who was shot in the head (2/12/2014), Robert Redman, 24, shot in the neck (2/12/2014), José Méndez Gómez, 17, was run over by national guard vehicle (2/17/2014) and Génesis Carmona, 22, was shot in the head (2/19/2014).
Leopoldo Lopez has turned himself to the Venezuelan national guard,  but unrest is widespread and his supporters vowed to continue to protest.

Anti-government protesters blame President Nicolas Maduro and his government for the high murder rate that reached 24,763 in 2013. 

On Tuesday, thousands of Maduro followers came out in support of their president.

Lopez is being charged for inciting crowds and violence during the past few days.

Lopez in a video release claims, Maduro's allegations are false and denies any involvement with inciting violence during the anti-government protests.

Manager At West Virginia Pizza Hut Caught Urinating In The Kitchen Sink

A Pizza Hut district manager has been fired after a surveillance camera caught him urinating in a kitchen sink at the Kermit location operated by Rage Inc. from Wichita, Kansas, which also has franchises in Ceredo, Chapermanville, Danville and two locations in Logan.

Kermit, West Virginia - A YouTube video posted on Tuesday, shows a district manager in Kermit urinating in a kitchen sink where utensils and supplies are washed at a Kermit Pizza Hut. The Mingo Health inspectors shut down the restaurant temporarily on Tuesday until the kitchen sink is clean. 

The urinating incident happened several weeks ago and a Pizza Hut cleaning crew from Texas was sent to the Kermit location to clean and sanitize the location, including the other locations where the manager had supervised. 

Pizza Hut Corporate representatives have confirmed that the district manager has been terminated. Pizza Hut Inc. has a zero tolerance for any standard operating work violations that creates unsanitary conditions. 

Pizza Hut released the following statement, "First of all, we are embarrassed by the actions of this individual. Pizza Hut has zero tolerance for violations of our operating standards, and the local owner of the restaurant took immediate action and terminated the employee involved. While the isolated incident occurred during non-business hours and did not involve any food tampering, we follow strict safety and handling procedures and the restaurant has since been closed. We apologize to our customers of Kermit, West Virginia and those in our system who have been let down by this situation."

Rindfleisch And Walker E-mails Released From Joe Doe Investigation

More than 27,000 pages of e-mails from convicted felon Rindfleisch have been released by judge order.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Wednesday,  more than 27,000 pages containing over 5.7K e-mails from convicted felon Kelly M. Rindfleisch, 48, from a John Doe investigation have been released. In 2010, Rindfleisch was a deputy chief of staff for former Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. 

Rindfleisch was doing campaign work while on County time for former State Representative Brett Davis (R) who was running for lieutenant governor. She was was convicted in 2012 of felony misconduct and was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation. 

Rindfleisch attempted to block the release of her e-mails,  but later decided not to contest the release of her e-mails. Her sentenced has been stayed, pending the outcome of her conviction appeal.

Many of the e-mails also includes correspondence between Rindfleisch and Governor Scott Walker (R) who was then, a Milwaukee County executive. 

Walker was never charged or convicted of any wrongdoing,  but e-mail correspondence could reveal compromising correspondence between Rindfleisch, Walker and others.

WHSF, Mexican Fiesta And LULAC National Allows DREAMers To Apply For Scholarships In 2014

A recent scholarship study by HNNUSA found that major and local non-profit organizations supported immigration reform, but failed to allow DREAMers from applying for scholarships. Since then, the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, Mexican Fiesta and LULAC National have changed their policy requirements barring DREAMers.

Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. ((HNNUSA) has learned that the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation (WHSF), Mexican Fiesta and League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National have changed their scholarship requirement policy that used to prevent DREAMers or DACA college students from applying for scholarships. HNNUSA recently exposed the mentioned organizations and other major Hispanic non-profit organizations that prevented DREAMers from applying for scholarships. Some organizations have broken tradition from excluding DREAMers from getting scholarships and have become more giving to needy Hispanic college students regardless of status.

WHSF sponsors the annual three day Mexican Fiesta in Milwaukee and is affiliated with Wisconsin LULAC local chapters 319 and 322 and the LULAC National. WHSF says, it had given out over $1.2M in prior scholarships,  but none were ever given to DREAMers until this year, 2014. About 100 scholarships are awarded every year, according to WHSF.

The recently released LULAC National Scholarship Fund Student Application now requires, an applicant must now choose by checking either, U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or lawfully present (DACA) student. Students can begin to apply for scholarships and the due date is March 31, 2014. WHSF also requires a student applying must be a Wisconsin resident.

HNNUSA made a difference once again and has been instrumental in helping to bring about gradual change for the betterment of our Hispanic community by paving the way for DREAMers to be included for scholarship awards and not be excluded. It is the right thing to do and non-profit organizations have realized, students regardless of legal status are our leaders of tomorrow.

Telemundo63 Fails To Recognize The Latino Community For Its Efforts To Restore UFW Mural In Milwaukee's South Side

Milwaukee, WI - Just in case you missed it, but CBS58/Telemundo63 WDJT television made a big blooper. How, well they invited the administrator of Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (Yours truly) for an interview about the success of saving, preserving and touching up the UFW mural that was vandalized with graffiti at 1618 S. Cesar E. Chavez Drive for over four weeks. On Sunday, someone went over and touched it up after a Facebook posting by HNNUSA made it a community issue.

After spending over an hour with a new reporter for Telemundo, Cristina Navarrete during a heavy snow storm at the Lopez Bakery in Milwaukee's South side discussing how members of the community came together to save the mural, it was censored. Well the only one getting credit was 12th District Alderman Jose Perez who actually didn't do anything to fix or save it. He blamed the owner of the property for not fixing or touching up the graffiti. 

Perez is a member of the Anti-Graffiti Policy Committee and failed to visit the property owner. Maybe Perez has been busy with other issues people might debate. We sure like to know?

Alderman Perez is well paid by the tax payers. Perez is no Alderman Bob Donovan who is known for getting things done in the 8th Aldermanic District.

Maybe Telemundo63 management (Genie Garner, news director for CBS58) used Ald. Perez as a scapegoat or was it Perez that had them censor the news worthy item by HNNUSA? Who knows, but one thing for sure CBS58/Telemundo63 is doing a disservice to our community and our community should pull its advertising dollars from the station, especially when it seems that they don't engaged in fair news reporting. You can decide on that comment.

Yes once again, Telemundo63 censored the actual interview and reported that Alderman Perez blamed the owner of the property about not touching up or fixing the UFW mural. Perez told Telemundo63 that the owner had until Feb. 27 to deal with the UFW mural. Telemundo63 didn't even give credit to the "Campaign to touch up and preserve the UFW Mural" or the people and person who saved the mural. Why? They got the scoop from HNNUSA.  

How sad, that the Hispanic community efforts to do something positive is not recognized by a White owned WDJT television station. But who cares, they can't hide reality. ¡Mi gente primero! 

By the way, Alderman Perez might have lost a re-election vote from that property and less people might be watching CBS58 and Telemundo63. Shameful!

Ruiz To Seek 15th District Aldermanic Vacant Seat In Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Patricia Ruiz recently announced that she is a candidate for Alderwoman in the 15th Aldermanic District. If elected, she will replace former Alderman Willie L. Hines Jr. who resigned on Friday, January 31 and took a job the following Monday as associate director with the Milwaukee Housing Authority. 

Ruiz from La Luz del Mundo Family Services in her campaign website states, "Growing into a young woman in the city of Milwaukee, where I graduated from a Milwaukee Public High School, attended college at the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater.  I feel proud to have come home to the city of Milwaukee and give back to my community...As the Alderwoman for the 15th District of Milwaukee, I vow to be accessible to the people and the voice for all in my community.  I pledge to be present because I will be a public servant to my constituents and I am here to listen my communities concerns and find solutions."

So far, Vera Davis, with the Milwaukee Area Health Education Center; County Supervisor Russell Stamper II; former county supervisor Eyon Biddle Sr. and Deshea Agee, an economic development specialist with the Department of City Development have also shown interest to run for the vacant 15th Aldermanic District seat, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. 

According to the Milwaukee Election Commission, nominations papers began circulating on February 11 and the dateline to submit them is March 4, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. 

Candidates need to turn in a minimum of 200 signatures or the maximum 400 just in case some are invalid signatures. If a candidate get less than 200, they will not be placed on the ballot. But they can run as write-in candidates. Write-in canidates need to notify the Milwaukee Election Commission of their intent to run. 

The primary election will be held on Apirl 1, 2014 and the special election will be held on April 29, 2014.
