Peter Berres, A Trump MAGA Supporter Arrested By Milwaukee Police For Pointing Rifle At Peaceful Protesters In Front Of His Home

Berres, a Trump MAGA supporter had drawn BLM and Brown peaceful protesters to his home in Milwaukee after insulting a Black neighbor. threatening him with a chainsaw and calling him the "N" word, which the incident was video recorded and posted on social media (Facebook).

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Peter Berres, 56, was booked in the Milwaukee County jail for pointing an alledged loaded long gun (rifle) at BLM and Brown peaceful protesters in front of his home on Tuesday where he has posted a Trump flag. Berres who has not been officially charged or identified by Milwaukee Police was taken into custody after protesters complained to police that Berres had pointed a long rifle at them after loading it on Tuesday. The protesters has gathered in front of Berres home after he called his Black neighbor who recently moved in the "N" (N_gger) word, while threatening him with a chainsaw on Monday and the incident was video recorded and posted on Facebook

Berres was first arrested for disorderly conduct while armed by police on Monday for threatening and wielding a chainsaw at his Black neighbor and later released, then on Tuesday, he was also taken into custody once again for allegedly pointing a loaded long gun at peaceful protesters.

Berres is facing multiple criminal charges for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while under the influence of an intoxicant, disorderly conduct while armed and bail jumping, and a $650 cash bail was set on Wednesday.

According to a press release by the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) regarding both incidents with Berres, on Monday, September 14, 2020, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Milwaukee Police responded to a residence located on the 3400 block of N. 80th Street regarding a trouble with subject call for service. The suspect (Berres) threatened to physically harm the victim (who is his neighbor) while wielding a chainsaw, causing the victim to fear for his safety. The suspect, a 56-year-old man from Milwaukee, was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.  

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at approximately 5:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to a demonstration at the same location where several individuals protested outside the suspect's residence.    

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the officers who were monitoring the protest were notified by a witness that the suspect (Berres) was inside his residence by a window and that the suspect motioned the long gun as if he chambered a round and then pointed the gun at the crowd. The video of the incident was subsequently broadcasted on several social media outlets. 

Officers made contact with the suspect and observed that he appeared to be intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while under the influence of an intoxicant, disorderly conduct while armed and bail jumping. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the upcoming days.   

The Milwaukee Police Department continues to support the rights of those who choose to peacefully protest, according to MPD.
