Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Marty Calderon announced on his Facebook account that Pastor Eduardo Loera had filed his candidacy with the City of Milwaukee Election Commission to run in the 8th Aldermanic District. Calderon posted, "Let's congratulate Pastor Eduardo Loera for filing his papers to run for the 8th Aldermanic District Seat. Pastor Eduardo has lived in Milwaukee 27 years and 13 of those years he and his family have been living in District 8. He has served happily in our community by providing resources and job opportunities to many people.  Pastor Eduardo will do us a great service in District 8th."
Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) noticed that Pastor Loera in December 2017 posted a photo of himself wearing a MAGA red cap in support of Trump in front of the White House posing with his wife. The aldermanic race is nonpartisan, but Pastor Loera's decision to support Trump and the GOP won't help his candidacy for alderman since, the GOP and Trump are anti-immigrant.
The 8th Aldermanic District has a large Latino population and most are democrats.
Two other candidates, Wisconsin State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa (D-Milw.) and Justin Bielinski, another Democrat have also filed their candidacy to run in the 8th Aldermanic District.
Alderman Robert "Bob" Donovan, the incumbent will not seek re-election in 2020.
