20-year-old Rianna Medina Arrested After Trying To Steal Packages From An Alhambra Home

Police in Alhambra arrested a 20-year-old female suspect after a released social media video showed her trying to steal packages from a home led to tips and information about her whereabouts.

Alhambra, CA - On Friday, the Alhambra Police Department (APD) reported in a news release that Alhambra Police Department Detectives have arrested the suspect in the stolen packages crime that occurred on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. The female suspect was caught on cellphone video by the homeowner when she was taking the packages from the front of the home. She claimed her mother leave there, but when the homeowner told her that police were going to be called, she dropped the packages and walked away. The video was posted on social media in an attempt to identify her and it went viral.
Police confirmed, the woman seen in the now viral video in social media (Facebook) stealing packages from the front porch of an Alhambra home last Tuesday has been arrested.  Alhambra Police Department Detectives, working on tips and social media messages and using what can only be described as "old fashion police work" located the suspect at a motel in Rosemead at around 1:00 pm today.  She was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been identified as: Rianna Medina, female, Hispanic, 20 years old, with an address in Montebello. 
Medina has been booked on one count of felony Grand Theft.  Her bail has been set at $25,000.  She is scheduled to appear in Alhambra Superior Court for an arraignment on May, 17th., according to the APD news release.
