Colorado Springs, Colorado - On Friday, Robert Lewis Dear, 59, was taken into custody just around 4:05 p.m. after he surrendered to police in connection with the fatal shooting of 3 people including University of Colorado Colorado Springs Police Officer Garrett Swasey, 44, and wounding at least 8 other victims including 5 Colorado Springs police officers. Officer Swasey along with multiple law enforcement officers responded to an active shooter scene at a local Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs.
Dear had taken hostages and fired at police during a gunfight. Dear surrendered later surrendered and was taken into custody.
