Milwaukee - On Tuesday, person or persons unkown spilled more than a gallon of used motor oil at the 800 block of S. Cesar E. Chavez Drive causing a hazard for pedestrians and vehicles. Garbage and other type of litter was also left in front of a clothing store on Chavez Drive.
At least 20 thousand vehicles pass through Chavez Drive per day and about 147,000 vehicles per week, according to Milwaukee city officials.
In August 2010, a $1.9 million streetscape improvement project was completed giving S. Chavez Drive corridor between W. National Ave. to W. Greenfield Ave. a brand new facelift, since the early 1960's.
