MATC Board Committee Selects Nine To Serve On Board

Nine new MATC District Board candidates selected and final approval of nominations to be confimed by July.

Milwaukee -  On Wednesday, Michael L. Burke, Ph.D., President of the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) announced through a staff e-mail that members of the MATC District Board Appointment Committee had met earlier in the week and selected nine individuals who will serve on the college’s District Board. Burke wrote that at least 20 people had applied, but only nine made the final cut. They would now have to be approved by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board when they meet in July.
Those selected were identified as:
  • Lauren Baker, Coordinator, Career and Technical Education Milwaukee Public Schools; MATC District Board member since 1995.
  • David Dull, President/CEO, Allis Roller, a machining and fabrication company in Franklin; served in leadership roles a manufacturers in New Hampshire, Arkansas, Illinois and Indiana.
  • Melanie C. Holmes, Vice President, World of Work Solutions; ManPower Group; MATC District Board member since 2008.
  • Michael Katz, President, Molded Dimensions; MATC District Board member since 2010.
  • Graciela Maizonet, Machine Builder and Repairer, Master Lock employed at Master Lock since 1979; active in Master Lock’s Community Services Committee in Milwaukee’s Metcalfe Park Neighborhood.
  • José G. Pérez, Milwaukee 12 District Alderman, who previously worked for City Department of Developement in Milwaukee, AFL-CIO and Milwaukee Inner City Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH).
  • Kurt J. Wachholz, Superintendent, West Allis-West Milwaukee School District; has spent 33 years in WA-WM District; helped develop several advanced standing and articulation agreements with MATC.
  • Bobbie Webber, Union Liaison/Sales Representative, Dental Associates; MATC District Board member since 2003.
  • Ann Wilson, Manager, Hillside Family Resource Center; MATC District Board member since 2006.
They replaced the following District Board members who concluded their service this year. Peter Earle, Tom Michalski Dr. Rick Monroe and Fred Royal showed exemplary dedication to the college and our students, Burke said in his Wednesday's announcement.
