McAllen, Texas - On Tuesday, Leonel Pulido, 67, the accordion player for the Roberto Pulido y Los Clásicos Tejano band passed away. Leonel was Roberto Pulido's uncle.
He was reported to have suffered a heart failure and was being transported to the Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Leonel died enroute to the hospital at about 10:45 p.m., according to Facebook postings in the area and the Roberto Publido y Los Clásicos Facebook page.
Leonel was born in La Palmita, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and lived most of his life in Elsa, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Nieves Pulido of Elsa and family, including grandchildren.
